Went in to try a pour-over and was really pleased with this place. The coffee was awesome! Just exactly what a light-roast guy like me was hoping for. It had the tart, fruity taste I’m looking for. Every time I’m near this joint, I’m going to make it a point to stop in. Do yourself a favor and give them a try! 5-stars across the board.

They should probably rename themselves Temple’s Homeless Shelter. I advise to think twice before lounging on their couches, might catch something from the streets.

The almond croissant was DELICIOUS. The americano was pretty good. And that's the main positives. I'm visiting here from Washington state so this is my first and only time at temple. The staff were very uninterested and aloof. The chai was not the best, I wouldn't order it again. My husband hated the drip coffee, it was very watery. I switched to an americano after my chai, which was better but not amazing. Overall I felt it didn't meet the hype!I do have to admit that the almond croissant blew my socks off. I think most people come here for the ambiance which is beautiful, but I didn't love the coffee or service. I would've given this less stars but my little cousins both adore this place and adamantly swear it’s usually better. So 4 stars instead of my personal experience which was closer to a 2.

I had a wonderful experience at Temple! The ambience is perfect; not too loud, not too crowded. Beautiful floors, wood work and clean layout. Staff is very welcoming and knowledgeable. There's plenty of seating inside and outside of Temple. Plenty of table/counter space so that you can work remotely. I highly recommend Temple.

Great coffee and nice seating! We got the ginger snap latte which was delicious. It was very crowded when we visited so seating was tight but otherwise a great experience.

A beautiful and airy, but warm tried and true coffee shop in Sacramento. I learned from a coffee blog that it’s grown tremendously but this location is still a favorite. I loved the penny floors! Great third wave coffee and fancy pastries and muffins, but don’t expect a breakfast menu. Plenty of seating space to do work despite the out-the-door line.Cold brew was good (not the best ever) but very solid.

What a VIBE! This place is a very simple and beautiful space. It seems like a large house converted to business/retail which I love! The window light in the morning is wonderful, I love the colors, the staff is incredibly friendly and the overall feeling in inside is wonderfully warm. I see a lot of people working remotely from a room to the side and it honestly looks like a great place to do that. The patio area is lovely as well. But the real standout here is actually the Latte. I had the Apple Hill Latte and it was perfect. This is one of those lattes that you would be hard pressed to find it anywhere else and you feel yourself craving. 10/10 will be back to try more!

I would angry with myself if I didn't post a review. I visited here for the first time this afternoon and it was such a treat. The vibes were nice and cozy. The barista was a certified pro. I asked for a Cortado and bro hooked it all the way up. I'm a sucker for detail and he really went the extra mile. It tasted amazing. I even sent a pic to my co-workers in our Coffee Slack channel, they sent props to the Barista as well. I'll start to frequent this spot when I'm in East Sac. It's also nice that it's across from Queen Sheba Ethiopian, this little area is becoming a hot spot for me. Cheers.

Three comments here:- 5 stars for matcha and my husband loves the coffee here.- 5 stars for pastries because anything from Faria bakery is bomb.- 2 stars for the breakfast sandwich which doesn't have the right mix of texture- the egg and bread is just soft on soft. Would not order this again.

During a recent visit to Chocolate Fish Coffee Roasters, I had some time to spare and decided it would be the perfect opportunity to get some studying done. I ordered an avocado toast and settled at a shared high table alongside another patron. While the idea of communal seating appealed to me, I found the seating options inside to be less than ideal. The stools were wobbly, and the table vibrated with every movement, which was quite distracting for someone in need of a quiet study space.Another unexpected source of distraction was a male barista who began his shift later in the day. His repetitive greeting of "welcome in" to customers entering and exiting the restroom, though well-intentioned, felt out of place in the calm atmosphere typically associated with a coffee shop.Despite these drawbacks, I was impressed with the staff's dedication to cleanliness. They were meticulously cleaning the walls, and the restroom was well-maintained—a good overall cleanliness of the establishment. The other staff members were genuinely nice, contributing to a welcoming environment.Given the high standards of cleanliness and friendly service, I’m willing to give Chocolate Fish Coffee Roasters another try. Next time, I plan to sit outside and get a beverage to see if it makes for a more conducive study environment. I’ll be sure to update my review after my next visit.

I ordered a flat white and it was well made. I had my dog with me and was told I wasn't supposed to be in the shop with him and they had me wait outside, despite a couple having a large dog who was allowed to order inside with their dog. I asked the couple and they said they allow dogs inside to order. Limited seating inside and it isn't comfortable (no cushions). The staff weren't rude but weren't friendly either. This wouldn't be my go to spot for coffee.

I’m the type of person who drinks my milk and sugar with a drop of coffee, so when I accidentally ordered a latte without sugar and was too shy to correct it, I really didn’t think I’d enjoy it. But wow, my entire perspective on coffee changed, it was amazing! This place has such delicious, high-quality coffee that even a sweet tooth like me would be able to drink it black and enjoy it. The one downside is that now that I know what coffee is capable of being, Starbucks coffee only tastes like disappointment

I saw the name of this coffee shop and I just had to check it out 😃. I love chocolate and coffee - so win-win here. The place is very modern feeling with nice vista-like decorations on the walls. There is a huge coffee roasting machine which definitely adds a sense of where we are. They have the standard set of drinks that one would expect in a coffee shop, they are quite good and have good attention to detail; nice latte art and a good coffee flavor. There are a number of pastries on display, including actual chocolate fish as a homage to the name of the place. They have a number of types of toasts as well so this is a good place to enjoy a coffee and some other tasty food bite to start off the day. There is plenty of seating both inside and outside, in fact the outside patio has a lot of character to it and looks very comfortable to sit with friends or a lover and enjoy a relaxing time sipping your favorite drink. The service was excellent and the baristas were very friendly and accommodating. They had no problem with special requests that I had.

I've been wanting to try Scorpio for a while, but was finally able to make time today! Definitely a trendy coffee shop oriented towards single diners. It was hard to find a place to squeeze two people in together. I got the pear toast and a matcha latte and they were both decent, although not worth the upscale price imo. Presentation was good but flavors were lacking and portions on the food were much smaller than I expected for the price. Service was average, they were not that busy making orders as everyone inside had already been served but it still took about 15 minutes for my drink and 30 for the food. Overall, a cute but average coffee shop. I will probably stick to my usual haunts, but Scorpio deserves an honorable mention.

Came here with my partner and friends on a double date exploring midtown Sacramento. We only had the hojicha latte, matcha latte, cappuccino (I think), and I don’t remember what the tea was called. But the drinks very really good and refreshing! Not overly sweet, and they have milk/non-dairy alternatives. I’ll definitely bring back to try their food menu!!!

In a nutshell; a really nice Cafe, with great beverages and food to start or unwind with your day.Great lattes, wasn't too familiar with the food choices but what was recommended to me was absolutely delicious. Staff were all accommodating and great. The orders didn't take that long either despite how busy they were that morning. Good food. Good service. Cafe isn't the biggest so it may feel rather crowded in a busy morning, but nonetheless , was comfy as decently it could be.Seems some establishments are Adapting the layout design of having the take out / carry out and this cafe is of that nature. The ordering/dine-in line was in the left-middle so it was a tad bit confusing walking in in a busy morning. Overall, parking's a little tough as it is midtown/downtown, but if you could swing by this Cafe, you'd be treated well.

My wife and I go to Old Soul every time we go downtown. Great place to get some excellent cappuccino and a ham and cheese croissant. Smoked salmon is also great. Outside seating area reminds me of a New Orleans court patio. Very dog friendly and almost worth going just to meet the pooches. Can get loud at times but hardly important. Only knock is the side potatoes that come with egg dishes. So bad I would up my rating if they just didn't bother with them at all.

Cute space, although it gets very busy at times. Food was good, they have various breakfast and lunch items on the menu. The line can get a little long to order however. Outside space is cute when the weather permits.

Beautiful location, especially the well-shaded outdoor patio surrounded by ivy-covered brick walls, complete with a decorative fountain. The iced mocha was rich and delicious 👌🏻 I was only in town for a couple of days, but I enjoyed it so much I went twice!

Was looking for a new coffee place, found this one. Had a dirty chai and a blueberry cinnamon scone which were delicious. It was a Sunday at 0800 so maybe we haven’t had our coffee yet, but it wasn’t welcoming. I love the old soul merch they had. They also have a nice outdoor seating where I listened to some pretty racist elderly men talk about politics. Out of familiarity I’d go again otherwise I’d find somewhere else that has a better vibe, unfortunately.Update*** I’m all about compostable items but this cup started to turn before I got half way through, coffee spilled and lid would not go back on. It was also as hot as the surface of the sun so the moon maybe that accelerated the composting aspect. Also decided I wasn’t a fan of the drink and went elsewhere.

Cozy coffee shop experience. Decent selection of food and beverage options, good drinks and quality coffee, not a bad place to hang out and get some work done.Patio seating is a really huge benefit here, the courtyard the outside seating is on is very welcoming and lush, tucked away between a couple brick buildings with a fire pit in the middle and plants surrounding the perimeter. Very charming and definitely improves the coffee shop experience greatly.

The coffee is great and also the service! However they allow the door to swing open non stop when it is extremely chilly outside. You could be sitting enjoying your coffee and then the door blows up allowing leaves & debris into your coffee. I had to keep my coat on until I finished my coffee because it was that cold. Please fix the door otherwise I would rate it 5 stars 🙂

A shoutout to Sactown Magazine for recommending this place to me according to a light read about an article they had published about astrological signs and the best coffee shops around town that match them. Before that I had never heard about The Mill, and yes so far their Vanilla Latte never disappoints. They only come in one size which I don’t mind. If you enjoy a minimalistic decor then this place is for you. They also have a cute seating area outdoors as well.

Yummy (and large!) matcha. They give it to you sweetened, so if you don’t want it sweet, make sure to let them know beforehand.
