Had the cherry blossom latte and it was soo good. The cherry blossom syrup adds a very unique floral taste. The decor and vibe are very industrial. They also sell tea and coffee as well as some alcoholic beverages.

Too many great things to get out! After many great visits over the last year or so we have had nothing but great experiences and need to leave a comment about it.The condensed version is that they have great staff. At least for all of our visits we have always had sweet people who talk to you like they are genuinely happy you are there as opposed to most places where they seem overly annoyed that they have to interact with you. They are accommodating and excellent in their craft. Some of the best Cortados I’ve had have come from their baristas. You can tell they give great attention to selecting and dialing in their coffees to the drink.Menu is not overly complex but still has great selection across drinks, food and desserts. Just enough to please everyone but not so much that it can’t be executed with excellence.

The food looked great, but I came for the coffee and it didn’t disappoint! I got a pour over that was Las Cajas from Costa Rica I believe. It was an excellent recommendation from Chris. They had a new geisha that they just released and were giving samples that was also delicious. I got a nitro cold brew to go for later and it was also delicious! Great vibe to this place and cool art on the walls. Super stoked to find a good shop coming from Cali.

De Fer... More like De Awesome!De Fer Coffee in the Strip District is a step above mostly all other coffee shops I have ever been to based on the level of service, quality of the coffee, existence of wine & beer offerings, and the ambiance of the café.The owners and managers hit home runs when hiring their staff. Every employee was knowledgeable, friendly, enthusiastic, and genuine. I regret not remembering employee names because they all deserve so much recognition for doing a great job. I was at De Fer on Sunday, October 8th doing some work for about an hour around 4:00pm. The Steelers had just beat the Ravens! The drip coffee was some of the best I've ever had. I purchased some whole beans that I can't wait to get into at home. I did not partake in the wine & beer offerings. However, it is pretty rare to find a coffee roaster that also has a liquor license for wine and beer sales. I really want to visit Pittsburgh again just to check out more of De Fer's offerings. The café is busy! However, the staff do an unbelievable job ensuring a good experience by bringing drinks and food to the tables instead of the customary crowd of caffeine deprived customers standing around the drink bar eagerly awaiting for their name to be mispronounced. It's just a cool space in a redeveloped industrial building with a lot of great neighborhoody things popping up around.Way to go De Fer.

We've been stopping by De Fer for YEARS now. They have a wonderful Cafe atmosphere - Delicious food, coffee, tea and cocktails - and often host live music. They're always asking new and curious things to their menu (like the delightful matcha tonic I ordered today)

A pleasant little coffee shop with plenty of choices, good coffee and tea, and even a few sandwich options. We had the ham egg and cheese sandwiches, an iced caramel cold brew, and a Chai Charger. The cold brew was a little underwhelming, however everything else was perfect. The shop itself was very well decorated with mechanic themed artwork throughout. This definitely isn’t your standard clean cut and modern coffee shop, but it is all the better for it.

Very lovely atmosphere and service. The frozen lemonade was good aswell as the berry smoothie (the berry smoothie was sweet-which is a plus for me but be wary). My mom got a maple brown sugar latte, she said it was good, it had a bit of a grainy feel though. The bagels are AMAZING! They were warm and the cream cheese was creamy and light. Definitely recommend.

I stopped in from out of state after reading the great reviews. A 4.8 stars catches my attention. I am so glad I decided to take the walk here. There is such a great vibe here with the decor and layout. It’s clean. You’re not crowed with seating on top of one another and it has a comfy vibe that I think men and women alike will enjoy.Men will like it for the obvious decor but ladies, it’s an industrial feel with feminine touches sprinkled throughout. Also worth mentioning, the seating is separated into little niches away from the others so you have a sense of being in your own space but still enjoy the presence of others from afar. I truly don’t think there’s a bad seat in the place. It’s not a huge place but it feels more spacious than larger coffee shops I’ve been in somehow. Love it!The music is nice and not so loud you can’t hear someone across from you in conversation. There is outside seating in the front accessed with open garage doors. A cool little detail. I was tempted to sit outside but honestly I was so drawn to the inside and the little detail’s everywhere I stayed inside. The young lady at the register this afternoon was so sweet. I didn’t catch her name but she was a doll and has beautiful long curly brown hair. Management please pay forward the compliment from me. It’s so had to find good customer service these days and she was truly a gem. I notice that and it keeps me coming back. Every time I’m in Pittsburgh for a layover from work this will be my coffee spot! Keep doing such a great job!

Good coffee, good bagel sandwich and cool decor. One person on staff when we went so it took awhile to get our order, and we needed to get on the road so we paced around for awhile but that also gave us a chance to enjoy the cool vybe and take in the memorabilia as well. Not the best coffee we've ever but I also ordered a salted Carmel latte and didn't care for it but that was on me. Husband ordered iced breve and it was delicious.

Having traveled throughout the US and the world. I can’t think of a better overall experience I’ve ever had at a coffee shop. 🌟The ambiance was eclectic, but comfortable. It feels as if you’re amidst a number of eras, gazing at all of the signs and artifacts of eras since past. 🕰️Then, the food - delicious, piping hot breakfast sandwiches were promptly served and devoured. 🍳 🥪The service was superb! Recommendations, high speed, and friendly conversation - all to be had. 🤝And finally, the coffee. ☕️ Creative takes on java we’re on the menu and I will admit to having two. Fantastic brew!Pittsburgh! This place is a MUST SEE and a gem if there ever was one! 💎

This is a coffee shop that sells lots of different varieties of coffee beans; big selection at reasonable prices. Also has a coffee bar; I've only ever had a mocha here - which are very good, rich and chocolatey - but it's always busy, so guessing their other drinks are good too. I guess they sell tea too, but I never paid attention to that.

The smell of flavored coffees in the air, the line of expectant coffee lovers, the joy of having so many choices of coffees, and they sell cups with candles. About the Place:Situated in the bustling heart of the Strip District, this coffee shop boasts a prime location. The ambiance is good, offering a pleasant place to relax. With a central spot on one of the busiest streets, it's convenient for those looking for a caffeine fix.About the Coffee:The coffee shop offers an impressive array of different coffee flavors, and what sets it apart is the fact that they roast their coffee in-house. However, the coffee itself was just decent, not exceptional. I tried the raspberry-flavored coffee, and while the addition of the raspberry flavor was interesting, the overall taste fell a bit short of my expectations. On the upside, the quantity was generous, making it a decent choice for a quick pick-me-up. Overall, a three-star rating seems appropriate for this coffee shop.

Cozy spot for a decent cup of coffee. I was really impressed with the comfort and the seating. It was a perfect spot to have a good conversation with a friend. The yogurt bar was also a nice plus. These stars are allocated to their baked goods alone (which are from Driftwood oven). Not a fan of the espresso drinks I've had here. A little bitter for my taste.

I felt so unwelcome. I did say very politely. Please fill 3/4 full so I can use milk. They wouldn’t give me regular cows milk. Filled the cup to the top with black coffee. I am willing to pay for a 3/4 filled cup. Won’t be back. I asked for milk as a personal preference.

This has been my favorite coffee spot since college. There’s been only one unpleasant incident: I had something bitter in their blueberry muffin — after I let the staff know I was given a one dollar voucher so it wasn’t that bad. They don’t really make the food from scratch so I don’t consider it their fault. Otherwise, it’s always been a pleasure to get a coffee and get some reading/homework done in this place. Once I placed the wrong order and upon getting my whole milk matcha and doublechecking if it’s oat milk, the barista immediately made another one for me. I also enjoy their nut and seed bar a lot, a very healthy treat when you crave sweets.

I don't normally review coffee places as they are usually all the same over roast, over extracted, burnt garbage like what's served at Starbucks. This place is amazing. It's a bit expensive compared to other coffee places, but that premium is well worth it. The staff is exceptionally friendly, and the atmosphere is very warm and cozy.I got an Ethiopian pour over "duromina" and it was fantastic. Great sweetness, and the taste of blackberry came through excellently. They had all the right equipment too, from kettle, to grinder, to pour over cone. They also have a nice succulent, +10 points.

Coffee wasn't bad - a little watery. One of the most disgusting breakfast sandwich I've eaten - was a brick of old eggs on bad toast. Interesting wall decorations, but the entire place smelled very, very bad inside. Baristas seemed nice but while I was sitting there, one of the workers came by to lower the hanging plant onto my head/shoulder. Strongly don't recommend.

One of my favorite coffee shops in Pittsburgh! I came here multiple times a week to work and study or talk with my partner. On nice days you can sit outside and relax at their tables on Forbes Ave which is beautiful especially in the mornings 😊I'd recommend trying their seasonal lattes like the maple and ginger latte. They also make good tea! I paid $6 for their seasonal latte but you can get regular coffee for less.Peaceful ambience with calm music, but sometimes rock/punk music light in the background. There is great natural light from the windows and lots of plants and locally made art. You can also buy coffee beans here as well as art and merch (nice t-shirts). AND they have gluten free pastries!

One of the best coffee place in Pittsburgh! We have a lot of coffee place around our apartment area so we don’t explore other coffee place very often. But we passed by here a couple of times and it’s always crowded. We curious, we tried and we determined this is one of the best! The raspberry and rose latte is awesome! Not sweet at all but have rose scent in it. The latte art is pretty too. Highly recommend!

Coffee is hot and tasty, coffee cake is crispy and tasty, decor is retro and cool, though its tastiness has yet to be determined. Also, the barista is super nice and outgoing. I’m glad I swung by.

Redhawk in Sharpsburg is hands down, my favorite coffee shop in Pittsburgh. I have been to many others in the city, and I have not found any other place with such consistently good espresso and friendly staff. The staff go above and beyond to make me and my family feel welcomed every time we visit. They gladly fill my reusable cup with any drink I order, sell us glass jars of milk to take home, and they even have some toys and books for kids to occupy themselves for a bit. While food options are limited, they often have pop ups on weekends. The space can get busy, but if you do get a seat, it is a nice place to relax and people watch over some coffee.

The barista was an absolute sweetheart and made me a tastey mocha. The ambiance is fantastic and I loved all the plants they had inside. This is a great place to visit for a quiet brew and a book or to sip and chat with a friend. I'll definitely be back!

Very welcoming place! Very friendly barista waited on me. They keep fresh cold brew in the cooler and since it was a hot day that’s what I had. The barista prepared it properly pouring the milk into my glass first filling it with coffee then adding a few cubes of ice rather than filling my glass with ice and watering down the whole drink. I totally enjoyed my to-go cold brew and would’ve loved a chance to sit and relax in the café. Nicely remodeled old merchant space with high ceilings, Original exposed brick and original mini tile patterned floor. Convenient location in Sharpsburg, around the corner from dancing gnome brewery. I will definitely be visiting again! Looking forward to my next cup of coffee! Thank you!
