I go here with my friend almost every week. I love the Mexican Mocha. My friend would get the Chai tea but it has been watered down recently, so she gets the Thai tea and its good. I really like the breakfast croissant sandwiches as well. They are fairly big and fill you up. The shop has a lot of tables to sit in and there's plenty of people working there all the time. It has a nice comfortable atmosphere and lots of books in case you want to read. Overall great place!

The spot for good coffee and pastries on East 4th! The butter croissants are amazing and the matcha green latte as well! Can get busy but if you can get a spot inside the vibe is amazing! Love all the books and old style

This place switched owners recently and it is highly noticeable. I used to love coming here to study when studying for my undergrad, but now it's just not the same. Here are a few pointers why I gave the place a two star review:(Food 2 stars) - The food its okay, but it is nothing special and I don't think they have a very hygienic kitchen. Their coffee is also not good, purely sugar and not well blended drinks.(Service 5 stars) - When it comes to their service, their staff is great, I have nothing but good things to say about them.(Atmosphere 2 stars) - Lastly, their atmosphere I think is okay. Although they have AC available, they decide to keep it off for some reason even when it's extremely hot. I have gone at times in the middle of the summer when it is clearly hot and they just refuse to turn it on. Only reason I gave it a 2 star instead of 1 for the atmosphere is because it is a quiet place which I do like for studying. Also the wifi is bad, it keeps kicking people out one it gets packed, they should upgrade their service.Summary of pros and cons.Pros:-Quiet place-Super nice staffCons:-Food is okay-Quality of caffeinated drinks is low-Not the most hygienic kitchen-No AC-Internet trouble kicking people out-Difficult to find parkingI am posting this review in hopes that the owner/management of the coffee shop takes notice and addresses the above to make it a better place not just for their customers, but also for their staff.Their staff deserves AC in the middle of the summer.

Such a cute and cozy coffee shop! They have tons of seating, free Wi-Fi, great coffee with several flavors, and bakery/deli goodies.Coffee/food: 7/10So to be fair I only tried the coconut latte with milk substitute and the strawberry cheesecake (I was prepared for the consequences of consuming dairy that day). The coffee was pretty darn good! It didn’t come out piping hot so it cooled down pretty fast, but I finished it quickly enough to avoid it getting too cold. I think they could be just a bit more generous with the flavor, but the hint of coconut was noticeable enough to enjoy it.The cheesecake itself was decent, but the strawberry compote on top was not. Part of me thinks it was ruined from sitting in their fridge without being covered. What people don’t always realize is food dries out when left uncovered in a refrigeration system and it can also absorb smells/tastes of other uncovered foods that share the refrigerator space. Not sure if this is why it came out so bad, or maybe it’s just my taste buds.Service: 10/10Top notch! The cashier was super patient, polite, knowledgeable of the menu and allowed me to custom make my coconut latte because I don’t like mocha (the only coconut option I saw was a mocha based coffee). She was the only person I interacted with so that’s unfortunately the only comment I can provide.Environment/ambiance: 9/10Super cozy! Lots of cushioned seats, even a couch, tables and chairs! The cushioned seats look like they could use some cleaning, but I don’t easily get grossed out and I sat on the couch without an issue. Dim lighting for a calming atmosphere but it definitely made me sleepy! I was only there for 45-mins trying to get some work done, but the late night and dim lights got me so sleepy that I decided to call it quits and head out. Next time I’m going to make my latte extra strong.Overall this is such a cute and comfy coffee shop to chat with friends and definitely a go-to study spot. I will be back for sure.

Nice shop, nice neighborhood. Tried the drip coffee paired with a croissant and a donut. The bean smelled great but the flavor development was a little low. The price is fair for the quality and if you want to enjoy a good cup of coffee this is a nice place. Not a lot of food options though.

Indeed Recreational if your experiences are of the coffee genre - no special equipment needed unless you count your taste buds and sense of smell. Drip coffee was amazing with hints of chocolate and maybe a little cocoa as well. Latte was smooth and artfully presented. Make the hike - it’s all about recreation these days - and relish the cool vibe and outstanding coffee at this one-of-a-kind coffee shop. Cheers!

The atmosphere is good, the drinks are good, and the bread is good. It's a place worth visiting. It's an okay place, just a typical coffee shop. The coffee shop is small but decent. I had a latte for coffee, and it wasn't very tasty, but it tasted okay.

The best coffee shop! The caramel frappe is the best I have ever had. It was sweet but not a sugar bomb like some frappes are and still had a very nice expresso/coffee flavor. And the red eye coffee was a great strong coffee option! You cannot go wrong going here and everybody was so friendly.

This is one of my favorite Coffee Roasters in Long Beach. The coffee items have a strong rich taste. It is obvious that their coffee beans are high quality and believe me I am very picky with my coffee. They also excel in their their bakery items. The olive chocolate cake is moist and rich. The Almond Financier got a rich almond taste and is featuring a market food. Scones and donuts alike feature a distinguished flavor such as the Apricot Rosemary Scone. I am very picky when it comes to coffee. This place always serves delicious coffee and the staff is super kind. Can be a bit pricey, but if you stay here for hours, you get: good coffee, free wifi, friendly residents who stop by, cute pets that are people friendly, and good music. So it justifies a $7 latte. After a few minutes, I always find a parking spot, but street parking is a Long Beach issue in general. I love the seasonal menu, always delicious.

Like when I asked for simple syrup, the person made it a great experience, even offered me a coffee straw to stir. It’s those little details that makes me feel valued as a customer. Menu is unique, lots to chose from and drinks are DELICIOUS! I’ve ordered americanos and the coffee is tasty, like a nice medium roast. Love the cups and aesthetic, too.
