    Easy, microplastic-free alternative

I spent hours researching coffee makers that didn’t have microplastic exposure. Unfortunately, even automatic coffee makers advertised as stainless steel have lots of plastic components. This is a great, simple alternative.Initially French press scared me off because numerous blog posts made it sound complicated/time-consuming to make, and I’m in a hurry during my morning routine. But if you just follow the provided instructions, this is an easy, tasty option: 5s to grind beans, 5-10s to stir with hot water, put the lid on, let sit for 4-5 mins, press and pour. I can barely make scrambled eggs and nailed this on my first try. No plastic components, and it’s a breeze to rinse off.I would definitely go for the 50 oz. size if you’re going to make more than one cup of coffee; it’s not that big and isn’t hard to manipulate. Even if you have to buy an electronic kettle/water heater, you’re still spending ~half of what you would on a decent automatic maker too.

My husband is also like a bull in a China shop – nuff said

OMGoodness!!! My husband and I have been using a French coffee press since forever. My husband is also like a bull in a China shop – nuff said. We decided to go with the stainless steel version. This is not only beautiful but totally gets the job done! There are only two cons for us, not deal breakers but none-the-less need mentioning.1) It only comes with two screens. One already attached to the plunger and a bonus replacement. This was a bit of a disappointment because of how the ad read in the second bullet poin. It leads you to believe that the plunger has a three screen layer. It doesn’t.”3-LAYERED STAINLESS STEEL FILTER STRUCTURE traps the smallest coffee grounds to produce an exceptional full-bodied flavor.BONUS Stainless Steel Screen included with this French coffee press. Filter screen is easy to dissemble and clean. Stack one or more screens together gives your coffee espresso more refined taste.”2) The second let down was we’re big coffee drinkers, which is why we opted for the 50 oz. press. We originally had 34 oz. Bodum glass French press, which yielded approx. 32oz. Our coffee mugs hold about 2 cups (16oz, +/-) ea., allowing for at least two servings. We were totally jazzed to see a coffee press that was 50oz. To our realization, it produces less than our Bodum did – by 1/2 cup (or so).Aside from those two cons, I decided to give it a five star rating because as I mentioned, they’re not deal breakers and it gets the job done!

Works great and makes enough for all day

Because we also have an espresso machine for individual coffees, we tend to use this more for making strong tea that we then dilute for iced tea more than we use it to make coffee. It works great for that That being said if we have company over or for some other reason need more than a couple of cups of coffee we find this to be one the best options available. It is way better than the breakable glass version and has the bonus of being larger than almost any other french press. If you want to keep the coffee warm for a while. make sure to preheat the pot with a bit of hot water first. It is well insulated but some heat will be lost to warming up the metal if you don’t pre-warm it.

Stainless Steel Duel Wall French Press

This French Press is a well made, very attractive duel wall stainless steel coffee maker. Comes with 2 extra screens to go with the one already installed. I like to use 2 screens, mentally it filers better per plunge. Coffee is drinkable heat wise for a 1 to 1.5 hours after pressing. We use 4 level (2tbs) scoops to get a excellent cup of coffee. Once the water boils and pot turns off, the process begins. Coffee in, hot water poured over grounds, pot stirred to get all the grounds wet, put on plunger lid vut wait 4 min to plunge and enjoy.

Largest french press, all metal, keeps coffee warm.

I have had this product for over 2 years now. I love French press coffee, but others I could find were small and mostly glass, meaning not enough coffee and it goes cold in the press if you don’t immediately drink it. This French press has enough room for over 2 of my large to go cups and the coffee stays warm for a while inside it. Couldn’t recommend this enough. Sturdy design, I doubt it will ever break. Comes with extra plunger filters. I use it every day.

The price is outstanding, the quality is top notch

I bought this after reading many reviews from professional review sights. There are many in this price range and 4 times the price that all tend to have the same pros and cons but it comes down to a few factors that I agree with. Which one leaves the least amount of sediment and which ones retain heat the best for 4-5 minutes. Unless I am missing something all other factors are esthetics or product faults and features. One site took the coffee poured, filtered, and measured how much sediment was left. This item won. I like clear coffee, so check. This maker held a constant heat. Double paned metal will retain heat longer than single paned glass, and there are a couple of sites that demonstrate this model retains heat well. This is important for me so I can keep the brewing temps consistently at one temperature for my entire brewing time. There is the risk of a metallic taste to the brew, but I have yet to detect any. As far as using this as a carafe as I have seen in a few other reviews, a French Press is NOT a carafe, it is a brewer. Once the coffee is brewed for the right amount of time, you pour it into the cup. It is not intended to keep your coffee hot for 20 minutes. Besides, your coffee would be so bitter at that point sitting in the grinds, it would taste like truck stop coffee.I took my old press and this new press and brewed coffee side by side and this poured much cleaner. I could see it in the pour. I could easily taste the difference too. In the end, the sediment was undetectable versus the bottom being muddy.I have no qualms recommending this, especially for the price and the fact that it comes with replacement screens which is the first thing to go in a french press.Again – If a clean filter and heat are important to you, resulting in a good cup of coffee, then this is your press. If other factors matter, you may need to read other reviews.

    Better than brand name.

I had a much more expensive name brand French press before I bought this one. It broke after years of use. So in my effort to replace it, I found this one and took a chance. I’m glad I did!Pros:Pours clean (no dripping down the front)Filters well (very little to no grounds end up in the coffee)All stainless (even the interior parts are metal)Holds a decent amount of coffeeCons:If you overfill it, it will spill out when you are trying to press. No biggie – just don’t overfill itIt scratches somewhat easily. This doesn’t bother me but it might bother some.Overall still better than my Bodum was.

Will not break like glass carafe coffee makers

I’ve had it for three years now, it’s absolutely bulletproof, I used to have to replace my glass carafe coffee maker about every year or two, it would break or crack. This one works very well, still perfect after three years. Insulate well, but it’s not a thermos.

should last a lifetime…quality construction and fine function

I have a few of these and they are very durable and functional. No glass to break or plastic to wear out. Mesh filters are supplied so that is the only part that will need replacing down the road. Know that they are double wall but not a vacuum so there is some insulation but hot tea or coffee won’t stay hot forever.

THE BEST – and the last French press you will ever need

Love love love this French press. I use it to brew cacao.I’ve managed to drop and break two French presses in the previous two years (one glass, one plastic). This thing is bomb-proof.It’s super easy to clean—no grounds getting stuck and festering under handles etc. It’s also HUGE. Goodbye grounds overflowing and spilling all over my countertop.Buy it now, thank me later!

I love this French press. I use it every single day. It’s easy to clean. It’s durable and big enough for 2-3 cups of coffee. It keeps the coffee hot for about and hour and a half to two hours. It does a great job at filtering out all the coffee grounds.

    Blind bro approved!

I bought this French press after the glass one I was using fell off the edge of my kitchen counter and shattered. This one has a robust stainless steel heft to it for its size. Next time this slides off the counter, it’s the floor that’s gonna probably get a dent first! It came with a spare filter mesh, though honestly, I never swapped this out in my last French press that I had for at least two years, but it’s great they included A spare..Keep in mind the 17 fluid ounce capacity that I bought is the total volume capacity; consider using 14 or 15 ounces of water so it doesn’t overflow when you put the plunger in. I personally miscalculated the capacity of my last French press when I got the 17 ounce version; I’ll be getting the 1 quart/1 L sized version for my daily bruise, I’m gonna keep the smaller one too. it’ll come in handy with recipes that call for strained liquids without the need for a coffee filter.I can’t comment yet on its insular properties; My first batch just barely filled my coffee tumbler. But I’ll revise here if I get bored and See how long it takes for it’s contents to go from boiling to room temperature.

Makes a great cup of coffee

It’s a very nice coffee maker. The build quality is excellent. I tried an expensive, course grind and it was ok but I tried my regular coffee and I liked it much better. It hasn’t clogged the screen at all. It makes one cup just right. I do preheat the pot by filling it with hot tap water. I heat one mug of water for a minute and a half. I dump the tap water out, put in two tablespoons of coffee, add the mug of hot water, give it a stir and put the top press part on making sure the arrow points to the back. I let it steep for four minutes. Then I slowly push the press down. I turn the lid around until the arrow is pointing towards the front and pour the coffee. It’s delicious. So far I just rinse everything off and dry it with a paper towel. I highly recommend this little French press. It’s my first. I’m 76 years old and have made thousands of cups of coffee in all kinds of pots but this is my favorite.

    super great french press

bought this as a gift for my boyfriend since our last french press broke. We went from a smaller name brand glass one to this, and it’s so much nicer! keeps the coffee nice and hot, doesn’t have any issues with spilling grounds into the coffee (the glass one did frequently) and it comes apart easily to clean. I like the way the lid is designed so you can turn it to close it or open it.

    Small size, perfect!

Needed a small size with style. Fits perfectly on my pantry counter to make my coffee brewing setup. Love the shape and coffee tastes great, easily cleaned.I did use two screens as just the one screen was collecting grounds just on the edges. Two prevents this and ease of cleaning improved on day one.

    Keeps coffee hot while brewing

My glass french press got smashed. I replaced it with this. I wasn’t sure how I would like it. All the french presses I’ve had (there were many) were transparent.. You can’t see through stainless steel. It really didn’t matter. This french press works great. The screen does a good job of separating the grounds and it keeps the coffee hot. The top of the french press gets a little warm.I ordered the 500 ml one instead of the 1000 ml I preferred. This is a great buy if you prefer coffee made (the right way) with a french press. No worries about it breaking

    Better then expected!

I purchased this french press coffee maker for our trailer. When it arrived it was very well packaged and looked better in person. I immediately did a couple tests. Placed boiling water in it (no coffee) and closed the lid. Came back an hour later and poured a cup full, still the same temp as an hour ago. Closed the lid again and came back in another hour, poured a cup. The temp had only gone down a few degrees. Closed the lid and came back an hour later and poured a cup. This time the temp had gone down about half. But really who has french press coffee sitting around for 3 hours! Decided to follow the directions on making a pot. Unless you love REALLY strong coffee, I would not suggest using 1 tablespoon per 4 oz. Overall I am very pleased with this French Press coffee maker and would recommend it.

The saga of finding the perfect coffee maker . . .

Been using my new coffee makers for a few weeks and I am very pleased with them. Yum, there’s nothing like a good cup of coffee. My eight year old Cuisinart automatic drip with thermal carafe was failing so I started researching auto drip coffee makers. My old machine was the Cuisinart that had a built in coffee grinder however I had given up grinding the beans with the machine after a few months of using it because for some reason I’d find the brewed coffee had overflowed all over the counter, cabinets and floor and I’d have a huge mess to clean up. It had something to do with the grinder and didn’t happen every time but I dreaded it so when I stopped using the grinder it never overflowed again. While checking the reviews for every auto drip with thermal carafe I could find, that was the first thing I looked for and sure enough many people complained about this happening to them due to some stupid design flaw. It seems most of them had this problem so they were eliminated from consideration. That pretty much left one Zojirushi machine but it’s expensive and it had other problems that made me hesitate. So I kept looking. It took weeks and I figured if my Cuisinart stopped working I’d just live with instant because I couldn’t make up my mind. It was so frustrating.I looked into presses too but it was so hard to decide due to the problems people pointed out in the reviews. I finally decided against a glass press because somebody said theirs exploded while pressing down on the plunger giving them third degree burns. Even the remotest possibility of this happening to me was enough to say nope. So based on the 1500 ml size and the great reviews I finally decided on this press. Just in case, I also bought a 10 cup Melitta manual drip coffee maker thinking that I might not like something about the press like the cleaning of it or whatever.I love the coffee press! I finally have the recipe and technique down and it makes delicious coffee. I got rid of my old Cuisinart grinder and bought the Cuisinart burr grinder. I set it for the largest grind and dump it on a piece of wax paper. When the water boils I immediately pour it into the empty pot and let it sit there for a minute to heat up the pot. I pour the water back into the electric kettle and test the water temp. Doing that cools the water to about 200 degrees. I pour the ground coffee into the pot, start the timer for five minutes, pour in the water, wait 30 to 45 seconds and stir it. Then finish steeping and plunge. I immediately pour the cups and put the rest of the coffee in a vacuum carafe. It’s fast and easy to make. As far as the clean up it’s not as daunting as I thought it would be. I don’t like to waste water so I heat up some in the microwave. Meanwhile I rinse the plunger mechanism under the faucet to get off as many grounds as possible. I take it apart and put the pieces in a small bowl in the sink. The long plunger/lid piece is rinsed and dried. I dump the grounds out of the pot into the trash and wipe the rest out with a paper towel. I pour the hot water into the bowl and the pot and add dish liquid. After washing I rinse and dry all the components and set the plunger pieces on the windowsill to dry more thoroughly. I haven’t timed it but I would say the whole clean up process takes about five or six minutes. As for the Melitta, it makes great coffee too. I set the grinder in the middle between fine and medium. I’ve found the actual coffee making process to be more time consuming than the press because you have to be standing there pouring the water into the filter and it takes about ten minutes. I tend to get distracted if I walk away to do something else and can forget to come back to pour more water in. On the other hand however, the cleanup is much easier. The cone and lid go in the dishwasher and I simply wash and dry the pot by hand. I like that my hand fits inside to clean it. I also like that the lid comes apart for thorough cleaning. That is something that always bugged me about the Cuisinart, the thought of all that crud building up inside the lid is gross. I even called them once to complain about that. I’m so glad to be rid of it.In conclusion, the press is faster and easier to make coffee but more time consuming to clean up. The Melitta manual drip is more time consuming to make the coffee but a snap to clean up. Also, the Melitta makes a little bit more coffee than the press. Each method is worth the time and effort for the great coffee they produce. Additionally, both units were very inexpensive and they should last for years without any disgusting muck building up inside that’s impossible to clean.

    Don’t listen to the others

I have had this pot for over a month and love it. My glass French press pales in comparison. I read one review that said this is hard to clean. I guess if you’re not willing to actually clean something this could be true. It cleans beautifully.I read a couple of others that said it doesn’t keep your coffee warm. Also not true. This pot keeps my coffee pipping hot for 2 hours and warm for about 5.I love how it looks and it’s heavy weight which means quality. Even the plunger is pretty heaving to give a decent seal.I highly recommend this product.Just remember that it’s decent stainless and if you don’t know how to take care of it then Google it. It’s not hard if you learn how and this pot will last a good long time looking beautiful of you learn how to keep ot that way.

    Wonderful tasting coffee!

Secura 1500ML French Press Coffee Maker, 50-Ounce, Stainless Steel 18/10 SFP-50DSC, BONUS Stainless Steel Screen

I too was a bit skeptical, seeing the majority of reviewers received this product at a discount, or for free. But, it was the largest french press I could find, and I was trying to make this my “only” french press purchase- hence stainless steel (no broken carafes), and large enough for me and my family.I received this a few weeks ago, and I do LOVE it. I use 1 screen and have not had any grounds in my cup ever. I DO USE COARSE GROUND COFFEE. I am sure this makes the difference, for those who are getting grounds in their cups. This makes wonderful tasting coffee! One reviewer said it was almost “thick” – and I know what he means- it is so wonderfully flavored, so rich, so full bodied– it does not compare with my old drip coffee maker. I will not go back. I am a french press user for life, and the way this one is constructed, it well may be the only one I ever use! Very sturdy, and well made.* The only thing that made me consider giving it 4 1/2 stars instead of 5 is the lid — when I first took the coffee maker apart to clean and the lid just slid down the plunger post, it startled me. It doesn’t seem to affect anything though, so in the end I have to give this 5 stars. Wonderful purchase, totally happy with it, and yes, I paid the full Amazon price, and I feel it was worth every penny!

    Unbreakable

My daughter had a glass French press that I managed to break one morning. I wanted to replace it but didn’t want to risk getting another glass one. This one is great. Very stylish, easy to use, easy to clean, and makes great coffee. I would highly recommend it if you have a klutz like me in your household.

A sound choice as an upgrade from a glass French press.

I bought the 34-fl oz Secura French Press coffee pot to replace a broken glass version from IKEA.This coffee press is super easy to clean with warm soapy water and a soft cloth or sponge: avoid using anything abrasive on the outside of the pot, which is super shiny. Rinse with clean water and you’re done. Its filter produces decent, full-flavoured coffee (which is always a plus), and the extra filters are a nice touch if you like that kind of thing. The order was delivered promptly, the product was well-packed, and the instructions are well written and easy to follow. It’s well designed and it looks good. Its double hull construction means that coffee remains hot far longer than coffee made in a glass French press. Preheating the pot with hot water before adding coffee and hot water makes difference in keeping the coffee hotter for longer. This model is NOT designed to be used on a stove or cooktop. The size of pot I ordered (the 34-fl oz model) produces enough coffee to fill three and a half large-sized mugs, which is enough for two people. If you’re making coffee for more people, consider opting for the larger version. I would happily buy this item again and I have no issues in recommending it to friends and family. Although we’ve only been using this coffee pot for a few weeks, I get the feeling that when well cared for, this is the kind of kitchen essential that will last for years.A sound choice as an upgrade from a glass French press.

Saves money, easy to clean, and coffee tastes great.

When my drip coffee maker died recently I was not happy with the long succession of failed coffee makers – since I drink a lot of coffee, and often entertain visitors who love a good cup of coffee, I wanted to make a total change in the preparation. So I purchased this coffee press together with an electric pot to boil water. I was a bit skeptical at first, assuming that it would pose a cleaning problem. But, to my total delight I found it so much easier to clean than any drip coffee maker I had owned in the past. It makes a delicious fresh pot of coffee in about 10 minutes. Cleaning of this superior quality heavy stainless steel press is incredibly easy. Pour out the grounds, give it a good rinse and dry with a paper towel inside and out. I use it at least 3 times a day. It makes 2 large mugs of coffee or 4 smaller cups. I use bottled spring water – which is what I also used in my drip coffee maker – but since nothing is boiling up inside the coffee press – there is no residue, mineral deposits, or nasty soaked coffee grounds. I don’t need to mess with those flimsy coffee filters – and best of all the flavor is incredible because the natural oils of the coffee beans are not trapped in a paper filter – so when you taste that fresh coffee it has retained all of its natural flavors. It takes about half as much ground coffee as what is needed from a drip coffee maker – so it saves me a lot of money too. You never have to worry about forgetting to turn off the coffee maker – because it is not connected to electricity – and it is so well insulated with double walls and a thick insulated top that the coffee remains steaming hot for the second cup. I recommend this product – not only a beautiful design that looks great on the kitchen counter, but saves money on filters and electricity. It is safer to use, easy to clean, and best of all it turns out delicious coffee.

Keeps coffee hot for about an hour.

Like all “thermos” type vessels, they work best if you preheat them. I pour boiling water into it clean, then return the water to the kettle to boil again, while I add the coffee grounds. If you’ve used a French press before, you know the plunger filter assembly does not trap coffee fines very well and they end up in the coffee you pour out. The grind is important – good coffee requires the correct temperature, contact time, and filtration for grind size to provide that perfect mug.If I grind my coffee too fine, I simply pour it through a paper filter. Sometimes I put a paper filter over the steel mesh filter, with mixed results as the paper filter will tear if you push it too hard or too fast. However, we purchased this so we can make a quart of coffee and keep it hot on the breakfast table for an hour or so. Give it 3-4 minutes of contact time, push the plunger down, and enjoy. One change I would make, the “arrow” on top showing where to locate the lid so coffee will pour out is hard to see. I used a Sharpie and a small piece of clear tape to mark the location. 6 months later, it’s still there.Recommended.

I’m pretty confident that it will do an excellent job to …

Well, we have a winner! This French press is heavy in hand and the opening rim is about 7mm (more than a quarter inch) thick, and the wall becomes thicker from there: the main body part should be around 15mm (more than an inch) thick. With this thick wall, the French press retains the temperature very well, even with its large volume of 50 oz.I’ve used this press to filter soy milk. The soy milk can be prepared using either soy milk machine, or use a blender to ground soaked soy beans and boil the resulting slurry. In both cases, filtering out the solid part (a.k.a. soy pulp, okara, bean dregs) is always a nuisance – until I have this French press. The French press doubles as a filter and thermos and keeps the soy milk warm for several hours. The large volume of 50 oz makes it big enough to provide soy milk to a family of 4 or 5.I’m pretty confident that it will do an excellent job to brew make coffee or tea. There is one minor issue with my French press: the two junctions of the handle, i.e. the junction between the vertical part and horizontal part of the handle and the junction between horizontal part and the main body, are not well welded and they are kind of rough, in contrast to the smoothness of everywhere else. It won’t affect any function, but I reckon they can always make a better.

This SECURA French PRESS is the Rolls Royce of Reasonably Priced Coffee Presses

If you purchase whatever volume SECURA FRENCH PRESS fits your needs you’ll never regret. This French Press is a gift to beginners. My first Secura press was purchased in 2017. About a month ago I gifted my 18YO with this press. It looked as good as when I first bought it. Chrome look is still perfect. And the press is so easy to use and clean. Just use pre-ground or fresh ground coffee put it in the press add hot water (not boiling) wait 4 minutes then press your coffee. Press the coffee with the weight of your hand. Then sip a really great cup of wonderful tasting coffee! It’s dishwasher safe for all of the parts. Be sure to buy extra screens and change them every six months. Both Secura presses turn out great consistent coffee taste. We recently purchased a coffee grinder because Sam’s no longer offered a grinder service. It made all the difference in the world because we use frozen coffee beans and grinding gives us a uniform coarse ground with every pot and the taste is unreal. My wife broke the first grinder which was still operable and we gifted it to my son.We bought a new SECURA press which we have used daily as we had used the first. And in conjunction with the new SECURA press, we purchased a little more advanced grinder. We loved our first SECURA and the second press is just as dependable as our first and because we grind our coffee from beans the flavor is more dramatic.Don’t use a ground coffee maker or newer sealed cup maker. Just try a SECURA press and you’ll join folks who really love a great cup of coffee.

    LOVE LOVE LOVE

I love the size, the quality and most of all NO COFFEE GRANULES seep through!!!! The filtration is perfection, and the sturdy stainless steel pot is just the right size to fill around 3- 16 oz coffee tumblers. Ive never done a French press before this experience, and while there are more steps to rinse the filter and other pieces, it’s well worth the quality and taste I get out of brewing coffee this way. Love this product!!

I have used the press a few times now. I look forward to seeing how it holds up as time goes on.

    The Best Pot Ever!

We just got this to try, after our old drip pot went bye bye. This is awesome!!! It is easy to clean, can just rinse and dump grounds into outdoor pots or garden beds and they love the nitrogen, so no grounds ever going in sinks, garbage disposal or dishwasher anymore. Every piece is dishwasher safe and so it’s easy to keep clean (unlike the coffee maker) and it will last forever. All parts are stainless steel. Since you only add hot water, you can set it up the night before and you can use it anywhere. Camping, back patio, anywhere. It makes better tasting coffee too. You can refine smoothness by adding mesh filters (included), so if you like smooth, go with 3, if more bite, go to 1 or 2. They are all dishwasher safe. It’s thermal, so keeps warm. I can take it out to the patio and slurp coffee as I paint or garden. I love this one! I have had cheaper french presses that left grounds in my coffee. This one doesn’t. It has an excellent seal (and I am picky about this). It is 50 oz, so normal pot size. Good for guests or 2 coffee enthusiasts. I just love it!!! It also looks sleek, so it not only is good for making the coffee, it works great for serving guests. I will probably buy a second one for loose teas, including various blends for iced teas. It is fun to take guests to the garden & grab flowers and herbs, add hot water and voila! fresh garden tea, hot or pour and wait an hour, then add ice. It’s faster than waiting for sun tea. Imay use 2 for coffee, so I can alternate days, washing one while using the other. I not only recommend this 50 oz pot for everyone, I plan to get another for myself. This is one of those best finds that you wish you had years ago!

    Superb French press

This French press is the best I’ve used. It’s also my third French press. The first is nice and does a good job, but the beaker is glass and therefore needs to be treated carefully. The second was poorly made, so the less said about it, the better. This press very well made, keeps coffee hot for hours, and produces a splendid cup of coffee for several people, or in the case of my wife and me, two great mugs each. Great product. Highly recommended.

    Excellent Brew

This is an excellent French press. The construction is durable due to the full steel body and the handle seems well welded in place. This provides a much better brew than other presses that I’ve used due to the double wall maintaining a much more stable brewing temperature, especially after preheating – which can easily be done while beans are being prepared. The flavor and clarity/lack of grounds are definitely on par with or better than several of the most expensive options available.Regarding cleaning, it’s a French press and the cleaning process here is neither better nor worse than any other typical French press. If you’ve cleaned one, you’ve pretty much cleaned them all. The only concern is letting heat dissipate first if you’re going to scoop grounds out into the trash or compost, but that’s done easily enough by letting it stand open while you have your coffee.Overall, a highly recommendable tool and one of the best ways to brew some excellent coffee in my experience. These have caused me to retire my Moccamaster for the time being and have become an essential part of my morning routine!

    3D Object Comes To Life

This french press makes much better coffee than my old plastic one, but what I particularly like about it is that it looks like a 3D object I would have rendered on my Amiga computer using the Imagine 3D raytracing program. It’s just something about the reflections that reminds me of old computer graphics. I think it’s because the reflections were the most impressive part of the graphics back then. Of course it’s ridiculous that I like a french press just because it makes me feel like a 3d object has jumped out of my old computer and into real life. The whole point of the programs was to recreate real life images in the computer. So I sort of have it backwards, but there you have it.

    Worth EVERY penny!

Prior to purchasing this beautiful Press, I owned four others from glass to single-wall. So yes, I built up some experience with Presses. At first I was blown away by the weight of this one. However, 50oz capacity is worth it! The stainless is a breeze to clean and keep clean. The ONLY flaw I have found so far is the threads from the plunger to the disk retainer. They tend to skew the filters about 15 degrees. This does NOT however affect anything except my OCD……LOL. A beautiful product that keeps my coffee hot for the 2-3 hours that it takes for me to drink it. It has already outlasted 2 coffee grinders, and I’m still on the original 2 screens! Best Press I’ve ever owned, and if anything happens to it, I’ll be replacing it with this same model.

Solid solution to plastic free coffee that stays hot and looks nice on the counter

Got this because I was tired of worrying about heating up plastic countertop coffee makers melting microplastics into my daily brew. We buy whole beans and grind each morning and this durable all metal carafe/french press all in one is perfect for us. It’s so easy to use and comes fully apart for easy cleaning. It fits just enough coffee for me and my person to have 2 regular (not gigantic) size cups each morning. And it comes with a bunch of extra metal strainers in case they wear out. Be mindful when pouring that the plunger is fully depressed and you’re gently holding the lid in place while pouring. Typically it keeps grounds out of your cup really well, but if you’re like me and want to get every last drop out you have to keep pressure on the lid as you turn it (nearly but not quite) upside down. Otherwise good seal and quality construction and performance.

I love this press! First, let’s establish a simple fact and silence the pretend coffee experts out there… French presses make the best coffee. But the major drawback to all the hard working, single wall presses out there, they will let your coffee cool off too quickly. Not this one! Makes awesome coffee AND keeps it hot! I wanted to go from the glass french press to this so my coffee would stay warm. This does the job. I like that it came with extra coffee filter screens. Haven’t had any problems with sediment in my cup ( only use 1 screen ) One concern I had was the coffee would be too strong sitting in this but that has not been the case. It is heavy weight and great quality stainless. Looks beautiful on my counter too !

Amazing flavor, easy to use, and insulates fairly well

I love the Secura 50oz coffee press. It’s amazing. You can make 8-10 cups of true french press style coffee in exactly 14 minutes. That’s counting the heating time for the water.Pros:- 100% stainless construction and all smooth surfaces makes the pitcher extremely easy to clean.- You can clean off the plunger just by holding it under the tap while loosely grasping the lid. Make sure you get one edge of the plunger under the running water and it’ll spin on its own to flush out the grounds. I fill the pitcher with soapy water, plunge once, then run it under the tap for a quick clean.- Insulates quite well for what it is. This will never be as good as a thermos or insulated carafe. It just can’t be. The lid is metal, and there’s a metal rod plunged down into the hot liquid, which will transmit heat up to that metal lid. However, it is vacuum sealed on the sides and bottom, so I’d say you can get maybe an hour out of it if you pre-heat the pitcher with warm water. This is much, much better than any glass french press you’ll ever find.Cons:- The plunger rod is a bit thin. It’s not wire thin by any means, but when making 50 ounces of coffee you need to press harder than with a smaller unit. I’m worried about metal fatigue on the screw at the end. I’d really suggest they alter the design to weld a thicker rod onto the last inch or two in order to increase durability. So that’s it. One negative. And it’s more of a suggestion right now, not a failure I’ve encountered myself. I’ve owned a Secura 12oz for a couple years and it’s great, but needing to repeat the process for each cup is annoying, especially if I have company over. With the 50oz in hand I think I’ll be able to finally ditch my drip machine for good, or at least pack it away in a closet until I have a significantly large gathering again.

    Best cup of coffee!

It’s only been a few days but so far it has been heavenly. Makes 3 12 of cups of coffee, stays warm for the late risers. We couldn’t have asked for more.It is heavier than our old one but, we expected that a double steel walled pot would be and the plunger is harder to pull out but, again, we expected that the tighter filter weave and pot fit is what prevents the sludge from getting into our cups and we are fine with that too.If things change after owning it for a few months, I’ll be sure to write a follow up.

I love this French press because it is attractive sitting out (shinny exterior stainless steel) and the shape of it is nice. Best coffee without exposure to plastic or aluminum

Have always felt that french press is perhaps the best way to make coffee but others don’t make enough for 2 to have multiple cups with one brewing. This one does just that and without any exposure to aluminum or plastics which we try to avoid as much as possible. Double walled is good but I doubt there is anything between the 2 layers. We rinse with boiling water before brewing and with this, 4 minutes and it stays hot long enough for 2 people to have 2 or 3 cups each. Very satisfied.

    Really nice!

I really like it a lot. Been using it several weeks now every day. Seems pretty heavy duty and sturdy. I like the rounded shape vs the ones that just go evenly straight down. I think these might be a little more insulated b/c theres a bit more space between the rounded shape. I miniscule amount of coffee grind gets through on occasion, but not enough to bother me. I guess I could add another layer of screen that they give you, but like I said, its only a miniscule amount on occasion so I’ll use it as it is. I really like it. Its a very attractive pot and works well.

Misleading description. 40-Ounce, not 50! Still a good product.

This fits exactly 5 cups of water (40oz) not 50. Pretty good at keeping coffee warm, providing you pre-rinse it with boiling water and rotate the lid to close off the spout, as intended. The 40oz isn’t a real problem. I prepare the max 51oz (1.5L) of boiling water with my electric kettle.Drop 11oz in the coffee maker and close it while I count coffee scoops. Drop the initial water out, the remaining 40oz in the kettle in, coffee on top, close and rotate, and press down 5 mins later. Happy as a clam.

    Beautiful Frenchpress

Very high quality and beautiful. I have been using it daily for several months. It makes great coffee and cleans easily. It’s well worth the money and yes, I would buy it again, probably won’t have to. The parts are heavy duty and fit perfectly. I’ve had other frenchpress, but none as nice as this one.

    Superbly crafted

The milling of this stainless steel French press is superb, it seems incredibly inexpensive considering its quality. Very easy to clean, a pleasure to use.

    What is not to like?

We switched from our old coffee maker because it needed replacement and it was, frankly, impossible to keep clean even running vinegar through it monthly. This French press is large, easy to use and keeps coffee hot. It does have a small amount of residue that gets by the screens that you will see in the bottom of your cup after you drink your coffee, but no grounds get by the screens. The hardest part is figuring out the ratio of coffee to water, it could be improved if it had internal markings showing water level, but after a week we have our ratio down.We paired ours with an electric kettle, the time it takes to make coffee is really about the same as using an automatic coffee maker with a filter, but much cleaner (don’t believe me, go look into the water reservoir of your coffee maker, and think, is that buildup of brown sludge/mold healthy?)

    The perfect coffeemaker

Compared to glass presso coffee makers this keeps the heat much better, especially the first cup is really hot!The quality is very good and it also looks beautiful. You can turn the lid around to close the pot to keep the heat better.Surprisingly little coffee ground is left in the coffee you drink, and the one that’s left in the pot isn’t very wet so it’s easy to take care of.It’s also easy to clean. The size is good even for one person, it works well with 5 dl water, which gives you two big cups.
