Great Upgrade from our older machine.
Bought this for my wife after her Saeco finally bit the dust. This machine outperforms it in every sense. It’s east to clean and the water tank is easy to refill, as it pulls out from the front. Espresso tastes as it should, just as coffee does. The instruction manual provides all of the information needed to adjust flavor, amount and hotness. The only negative I can think of is that the machine sprays water out of the drink dispenser spout (in order to clean out any coffee/Espresso that may be left from the previous brew) and it requires you to empty the drip tray once the button pops up. More annoying than anything.

How to use !need more clear instructions!
After some error of use ,finally I understand all the option. My suggestion is to make a very clear video how to use this machine. Is very confusing and is hard to find a real instruction. Even in the book is not write how to use pre ground coffee . After you guess how to use is a great purchase.🤩🤩🤩🤩

Easy to use
I’m very satisfied with this machine. The first machine I ordered arrived damaged. Amazon quickly replaced it. I’m using this machine to replace an old Jura machine. The Jura made great espresso, but you could never get it totally clean. I like the fact that you can remove the brew group on the Philips machine. The espresso it makes is plenty hot. I have not used the frother yet, so I can’t comment on that. Over all, you can’t beat it for the price.

Good way to save money without loosing much coffee shop convenience
This machine provides convenience that’s very difficult to beat, and the coff quality is quite good as well, especially for the price. Just note that you can adjust both the grind and the temperature to dial in the flavor.Panarello steam wand is… Okay. However, if you pull off the metal part the silicone steam nozzle beneath can act as a standard steam wand for more control over the milk. For the amount of coffee that’s gone through it, it’s already saving me money.

Coffee at the touch of a button
My wife and I felt we needed a change from the traditional drip coffee maker or french press coffee system. We purchased this as a combination gift to each other year ago for Christmas. We love it. I can put in whole beans and get fresh ground coffee. The temperature the coffee is made hot of course but just cool enough to sip on immediately. My wife and daughters love it to make lattes. You can usually make 3-5 drinks before needing to empty the coffee ground pucks container. The water container is very simple to detach and refill. I would strongly suggest doing a “deep” clean of the machine once a week or bi-weekly (depending on how often you use it) by removing the water container and opening the side door to the compenents inside or you will end up with mold (ask me how I know). We can also use the hot water option to make hot cocoa or instant grits or oatmeal. Very useful item for our kitchen and one of the best purchases we have made in awhile.

Easy to use, great coffee
My mom loves my older generation that is no longer available so I bought her this as a gift. She was very turned off at first because it seemed to “high tech” but after some use and a simple demo she uses it everyday and she loves it! Easy to use and clean. My dad even loves it for getting hot water for tea and oatmeal.

Absolutely Amazing
I have been looking at this espresso machine for a long time, and finally decided to make the investment. We are thrilled with the coffee/espresso and the ease of use with the unit. My husband is technochallenged and has had zero issues operating the machine. We have only used whole beans, so I can’t rate the ground function. We are saving a large amount of money/waste not going through disposable coffee pods, and the quality of the brew makes us never want to go back to single serves. For a fraction of the price for some other big brand units, I cannot recommend this more! (We have had it for about 4 months, and it pulls probably 6-8 shots or coffees a day with zero issues)

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS COFFEE MACHINE
You only have to refill the beans once a month or so. It hasn’t given us any problems and we’ve had it for ohmost a year. I use it everyday multiple times a day. Would love to try the newer model I bet it’s even better!!!

Very happy
It’s hard to find fault with this machine but I will say that the only drawbacks are the initial learning and set up and the noise. With that said I simply watched a u tube video and I was done in no time. Also the noise is mostly when the beans are grinding and I know of no machine to grind beans that is quiet. So that’s the drawbacks, the pros? I like this so much I refer to it as my magic coffee machine. It makes delicious coffee and I feel like every cup is from a small little coffee shop. It took me a few tries to find the right grind and such as my Lavazza coffee tasted so bitter but I lowered the intensity to the middle setting and voila! A perfect cup. After approx 100 cups the instructions tell you that you may set the physical grinder up or down but I’m not certain I will make any changes. Light, Med or Dark are all I need in the settings. My boyfriend makes a double cup + the largest brew and it fills a big mug (two grinds). For me, I like a hot cup so I do a small mug with a single large brew and it is about 2/3’s up.This purchase is a sizable one for my wallet, however it was recommended after experiencing the Jura for a week with friends in the Outer Banks. I came home and wanted one. They suggested this model and I waited on a sale and got it. I’m sure the savings on Kcups it will pay for itself in a year or two but honestly I just love the coffee. I also love no filters, no k cups, no prepping a pot the night before, and while I’m not sure if the inner workings have plastic or not, I’m very happy not to use Kcups – a pet peeve of mine.It does have a large foot print but its attractive and you don’t have any other coffee paraphernalia to keep or store. Just a bag of beans. If the size is okay for you, and the price isn’t daunting, I would highly recommend and I also think there is little to no chance you won’t be as thrilled as I am with the purchase. I bought the 2200.

Makes mornings brighter
I’ve had this espresso machine only a week and it’s my favorite thing in the kitchen. I did a lot of research and comparing before buying this model. I wanted a simple machine that did not require much maintenance. It makes 1-2 oz espresso shots and regular 8 oz cups of coffee. That’s all I need. It steams milk with a basic wand which works better than I expected. About the wand: it only has 2 parts which makes cleaning very easy. It does not draw milk through the machine at all which is what I wanted. Who wants to fiddle with worrying about cleaning milk out of internal mechanisms? You won’t be able to brew coffee and steam milk at the same time, which has not posed a problem for me. The coffee brewing is quick and can be done on the heels of steaming milk. I am not a coffee aficionado, most of my cups coming from a drip maker or a Keurig so take my perspective as you see fit. But I love the flavor of the coffee that comes from this machine. It tastes nice and dense with no weird aftertaste. For coffee beans, Philips recommends a light to medium roast. Look for beans with no oily shine. I signed up for a subscription for the Lavazza Super Crema on Amazon and they are so wonderful together. I wish I could retire early and sit and drink this coffee made by this machine all day. Alas, I have a good 15-20 more years. But waking up to this good coffee/machine combo every morning sure makes the days a little happier.

Absolutely love this thing!
Best coffee maker I’ve ever had! I buy a huge bag of cheap beans and Costco and I’m set for a long time. This machine has saved me do much money. My only complaint would be how loud it is. If you want a super quiet machine this is not it. The beans grinding aren’t that loud but when it starts up or shuts off it’s really loud. I don’t really care because it’s a good machine so I’ll deal with some noise. I use the frother every day and it works well. I would definitely recommend this one!

Love, love, love this machine!
When I saw my brother’s fully automatic coffeemaker, and then tasted the coffee and cappuccino he made, I knew I needed one. After much research, I bought the made-in-Romania (of all places, but NOT China) Philips 2200. Couldn’t be happier. My coffee thirst has been well satisfied by this unit. Highly recommended! Enjoy!

Amazing!!
First of all this machine is a solid piece of equipment, I read a lots of reviews where people say that the coffee is coming awful an watery, let me give you some advices 1 you need to use dark roast espresso only 2 to make consistency on the espresso you want to make at least 10 15 coffe cups 3 I set the grinder at 3 dots to taste dense espresso. Hopefully this helps.

Great espresso machine , great foam, easy to clean, no mess!!
Great machine, makes great espresso and coffee. The frother wand needs to be adjusted to make good foam. After watching a video on YouTube, you can take a pen and push down on the top witch lets more steam in , it works perfectly now. After years of using a typical espresso machine and having to slam the old coffee grounds in to the trash and then clean off coffee grounds from the grinder on my breville, I’m just sick of cleaning up the mess. This machine has no mess besides a few drops of milk from the frother, I’ll take that any day over cleaning up coffee grounds on a white counter top. If you like quality espresso and coffee at your fingertips with no mess, you will love this machine. Very easy system to clean. To me it makes the other machines look like a joke. And don’t be fooled by other reviews that say it doesn’t make quality foam. It makes fantastic foam in seconds and an easy to clean frother. Watch a video and learn how to make foam before saying this machine doesn’t make it right.

Happy with the purchase
This is my second Phillips product. It’s exactly what we ordered. I love it. The only complaint that I have is that the instructions for the grinding of the coffee is not clear. It takes a bit to set up if you’re not used to this type of coffee maker, but it is well worth every penny.

Great coffee machine
This coffee machine is so good. Makes good coffee and is super easy to use. You can click one button and make a cup of black coffee (which my husband likes) and you can also make iced coffees, lattes and more! This is a all in one coffee machine! I have had it for 2 years and still in good condition. Just make sure you keep up on cleaning the parts and doing maintenance and it will be the best coffee machine!

It’s perfect for me
I was hesitated to buy this but the price was right and so far has not let me down. Once you get your initial set up, it’s just a matter of selecting the amount of shots you want and press go, once done you put your milk in the steamer and press go, once done mix you shots and milk and you got your drink. No messing with the amount of grounds and having to taper press the grinds it’s all done for you just empty and go. This little machine does it perfectly!!!

Life changing
I always loved drinking darker coffee and preferred espressos/ Americanos. But I am 2 kids deep and just don’t have the patience for an elaborate coffee bar. The 2200 checked all boxes for me: easy to use, easy to maintain, minimal waste, quick and delicious cup of coffee any time every day. This was worth the long term and hefty investment. I already know that it paid itself within 6 weeks for us.Don’t be fooled by all the pictures and review about mold found in the machines. It is 100% user error and 200% user negligence. I like the low daily maintenance of the 2200. But I am invested enough to clean it weekly to ensure I get great coffee throughout the work week. These users reporting mold in their puck bucket and throughout the brewer also most likely don’t clean their air fryer as frequently as they should either. I hope I don’t ever come across any of their potluck dishes in my lifetime.I love this machine. As a working mom, I advocate for the 2200 a thousand times over. I’m excited to spread the good news!

great crema and coffee, excellent foaming for lattes
I’ve used manual espresso machines before which require you to grind your own beans, tamp down the grind, and then do a pull yourself then clean out the cup/grounds each time you make one small portion and this is a dramatically easier experience for an equally good result. The quality of the coffee you get from the machine is dramatically affected by the type of beans, but I didn’t find that even less optimal types of beans were an issue. In terms of the things I liked:1. I don’t have to grind the beans myself. I just fill the hopper on top and set the grind using the dial inside. Once the grind level is set, it stays there until you manually change it.2. I can make multiple cups of coffee or espresso without emptying out the grinds. There is a warning light to let you know when you need to empty them, but I could make 6-8 individual cups before this was an issue. I empty it out once at the end of the day and that’s it.3. The settings allow me to select strength, portion size, and type very easily. I liked how easy it was to vary these things based on my mood without having to manually adjust the water supply or amount of coffee. The machine did this for me.4. The coffee this products is less acidic by far than a drip coffee maker. I was having serious issues with acid reflux and heartburn after my morning coffee that vanished after I started using this.5. The crema on the coffee is excellent.6. The steam function is amazing and produces a thick, full foam even with non-dairy milk (I used almond milk).7. This is very easy to clean as all of the parts come out for quick rinsing/cleaning.8. It’s relatively fast. The word “relatively” is important. If you compare it to having to manually grind, tamp, and pull your own shots, it’s much quicker, but it’s not instant. Each cup/shot takes about a minute to process if the machine is already on. Double shots/cups take longer.9. Set up wasn’t difficult and the manual is very clear and good at taking you through step by step.10. It uses far less coffee per cup than a conventional drip coffee maker with superior tasting results.11. The steam pipe is very easy to put on and take off so it’s super easy to clean with a quick rinse from the tap and you don’t have to clean it with a rag and feel it’s not clean enough. The things I didn’t like:1. Water tends to fool to a fair extent in the tray because it purges the pipes after you turn it on and it turns itself off after awhile so there’s no avoiding this water.2. If you remove the tray for cleaning before you remove the mechanism inside for rinsing, clumps of coffee grounds will fall into the bottom of the machine. This is something that isn’t covered in the manual, but is important if you don’t want to clean coffee out of the bottom of the machine.3. It’s very noisy. The machine vibrates beans down into the grinder and the grinder itself is noisy.4. The milk steamer takes awhile to get hot and, while you wait, steam either shoots out moisture into the air/tray or you have the cold pipe bubbling up in your milk. Once it gets going, it does a great job, but it is hard to know when it’s a good time to get started.5. The water tank registers as low even with a decent amount of water in it because it gauges by the water level relative to the filter. Also, you have to use the filtering system or you get an error message. I’d like the option not to use a filter if I choose not to.For on-the-fly coffee/espresso, I couldn’t be happier with this machine. While it would be nice if it was a bit quieter, I think it’s impossible to reduce the noise given all of the operations it performs.

Nothing to do but enjoy exceptional espresso!
What an upgrade! I switched from coffee to espresso after a trip to Italy a few years ago. Grind my own beans and use both a little Bialetti pot and an inexpensive DiLonghi. Love good espresso. Enough to tolerate the constant mess of statically charged grounds everywhere and hand washing everything. Every freakin’ cup. Which may be why espresso has been a once and done for the day.Now I push a button (ok a couple of buttons), take my most delicious cup and don’t touch the machine again until I feel like another! Drink, push button, repeat. Every now and again the machine tells you to dump the grounds and the drippings. Quick rinse, takes 30 seconds. I’m drinking more espresso than ever. It’s not just the cleanliness or convenience of this magnificent machine that I love. It’s the consistent quality of the go juice. I’ve seen the reviews where folks are carping about how difficult it is to set up and dial in. Yeah, sorry, you do have to read and follow the directions (not something I enjoy either) but it’s not rocket science. Super simple to tweak to get it just exactly how you like it. And then it delivers it that way every time. And then there are those who complain about the crema. I believe they are the same folks who think a properly poured beer should overflow the glass because THATS HOW IT LOOKS ON TV. Ridiculous. Do you really want to base your enjoyment of an espresso on how much foam sits atop a flat beverage? My Mocha Express makes an excellent espresso with no crema whatsoever. That said, this machine produces a nice frothy crema, much more than my DiLonghi.Bottom line, I’d give it six stars if they’d let me. Even with its one shortcoming — I wish the hopper held a full pound of beans.

Tasty, Environmentally Friendly, and Economically Pragmatic.
This has quickly become the favorite part of my morning routine! This is my first super-automatic coffee and espresso machine.I had a Nespresso Vertuo and really enjoyed the Intenso and Stormio flavored coffees and Diavolito espresso shots. I decided to make the switch for environmental and money-saving purposes. Barista coffee at home, without fuss!
We had this machine over a year and it is still going strong. Makes a great cup of coffee with your favorite beans. It will need to be cleaned and greased every so often but well worth it to me. I love the frother for the milk as well. I would buy this again!

Quiet and clean
Have the unit for 2 months now and very happy with it.No issue to report, it does take a few trial to find the good coffee with the good settings but I guess it is standard to any of these machine. The self cleaning mode use a bit of water at each power on and off, but I guess it keeps the unit working fine on long shot. The unit take some space (compare to a nespresso for example) but it surprisingly quiet when it comes to grinding beans!Good coffee and saving tons of money on capsules

Amazing coffee, easy to use and easy to clean/maintain
Love this machine. Makes AMAZING expresso/coffee. literally blows any keurig coffee away! I also love the ability to try new beans. The parts are easy to clean and maintenance is very simple, just rinse once a week and lube a few moving parts every couple months. My wife was on the fence since this is an expresso machine first. But after some convincing, and pointing out all her favorite drinks from Starbucks are made with expresso, she went with it. Now she can’t stop talking about the coffee drinks we make with it!!! Well worth the purchase price.

(We have had it for about 4 months, and it pulls probably 6-8 shots or coffees a day with zero issues)

good price with high quality
I am a big fan of Latte. I have used a Keurig and a Nespresso Espresso Maker for many years. I was not satisfied with the quality of the coffee Latte I made by these machines, but I used to think the main reason it tasted not as good as those I bought from coffee shops is because the quality of my coffee capsules and milks was not good enough. Until recently I read some articles and realized I can try a better coffee machine. I did some analysis and decided to buy this Philp 2200 Espresso machine. This morning I received this machine. It is easy to install. I could not wait to try a cup of Latte. Although I used the same ground coffee and milk which I bought from Costco, it produced a diferrent Latte. It tasted so yummy! Just as good as those from the a barista shops! Now I can enjoy high quality Lattes everyday. I am so glad I bought this machine.

Happy with the purchase
This is my second Phillips product. It’s exactly what we ordered. I love it. The only complaint that I have is that the instructions for the grinding of the coffee is not clear. It takes a bit to set up if you’re not used to this type of coffee maker, but it is well worth every penny.

By far the best purchase I’ve made recently. The machine automatically grinds, packs, and extrudes the beans. It’s extremely easy to use and has many features including a puck disposal, grind size adjuster, bean freshness seal, auto off and purging function, makes hot water very fast, and you can select the strength and size of your espresso. It has a decently sized disposal bin (Can hold about 8 double shots worth of espresso pucks before needing to be refilled). The water tank is a little small, especially if you’re using the coffee or steam functions.Overall 10/10 product.

Hopefully this helps.

The Nespresso machine was cheaper, but each vertuo pod cost ~$1, and at the volume of coffee I drink (2-3 cups per day) it made me regretfully scale back my coffee enjoyment experiences. Compared to a $15 per pound whole bean bag of coffee which has made over 40 servings of espressos/ coffees… you definitely save money in the long-run with the Philips 2200.Environmentally, while Nespresso does recycle via UPS, I can’t help but think of the additional carbon fumes required to produce the pods, ship the pods back, recycle the pods, etc. With the Philips, you’re only throwing away used grounds (and a bag at the end of 40+ servings). In regards to taste, I used Peet’s French Roast Organic beans and adjusted the factory grind settings one notch down (for a slightly finer grind) and after about 5 or so cups, this machine was producing a dark, roasty, smoky, coffee and espresso with a beautiful crema, and a taste that certainly expedited my consumption of that first pound of coffee.Again, this is my first super-auto espresso machine, and I’m not a barista; but this machine is very pragmatic economically and environmentally.

Coffee Shop Quality at Home
I have had this machine for a year and it’s been perfect! 0 issues so far. If you buy quality, fresh roasted beans you can essentially get espresso that tastes just as good as a local coffee shop. Easy to use and good form factor – makes great coffee
Easy to use and custom adjust the brew per use. Every normal maintenance item is accessible from the front or the top. Makes good coffee. The top bean holder is shallow and has a loose top. It would be easier if the top had a hinge and the holder were deeper so the beans didn’t remain up on the sides. However, this shallow design allows us to fit the machine under our cabinets.

Love this Super Automatic, Excellent Espresso
I was using a Nespresso before this and this thing makes Espresso that is infinitely better with the Lavazza beans that I use. It’s very easy to maintain – I clean the puck catch system weekly, and the brew group and internals every month or two. Despite the price, I’ll be breaking even very fast compared to having to buy Nespresso pods. Got this machine after trying it at a friend’s place. Felt like a no brainer. I set the grind to like 8/10 fine and I’m getting super creamy shots every time. I did run a whole contained of trash beans through it first. I think that’s essential to break it in. Though I rarely use it, the steam wand is pretty awesome too. I personally wouldn’t feel the need to upgrade to a higher end unit, but if money is no object and you want better automation and beverage variety, go for it.

I love my machine
I got this for Christmas from my husband, total surprise. Love that man.I am an average person who loves coffee. I drink 3-4 cups every day. Always in the morning, and always after work. I am not a coffee snob, my coffee was Chock Full O’ Nuts and I used a percolator on the stove. Made a good cup of coffee, no complaints. This though… I love it. I’ve perfected the amount, I do two brews with two water drop fulls, meaning the button on the machine that regulates the size. I use the highest amount of beans possible. I’m trying so many different beans too. Never had the same twice and they’re all delicious.Haven’t used any other feature yet, but I plan on it.So if you aren’t a snob like some of these people and just want a really good cup of coffee, this is for you.

What a Big Difference from Saeco!
What a big difference from my old Saeco. The design is truly European, I would compare it with the ones by Siemens or Bosch, that my friends own in Germany. The water tank is twice as big, conveniently transparent to see the water level, a silicon treated cover for the bean container keeps the coffee fresh, also the water container is located on the right side, as most of us are still right handed, easily operated and easily cleaned up. Fully automatic and a very neat and modern look. Also one of the biggest improvement is the quality of the body – it is manufactured of more durable plastic, which was so bad and easily breakable in the old Saeco. Another improvement is the movable coffee dispenser – you can regulate it either for a smaller or bigger cup, and the last but not least is the surface of the splash board plastic is wisely made rippled, so you would not see every stain or drop of water/coffee on it, like you would on the glassy surface. I wanted to buy first 3220 series, but this one was the only one that Amazon offered free returns for. So did not want to buy a cat in a sack. But when I got it and started using I just fell in love with it from the very first use, and almost right away decided that it was all I needed. A little bit inconvenient not to have an attached milk cup LatteGo and temperature control, but worth saving$300. So I am totally happy with the purchase and hope it will last as long as the Siemens machines:) Is it too much to dream about?!

Great Coffee
We ordered a similar machine, made in China and returned it in a week because coffee bean grinder stopped working. This machine ranks right there was our previous Jura for only a fourth of the price! It’s easy to use and makes great latte’s as well as regular coffees ! Highly recommend.

Very happy with this purchase.
I was afraid this would be a giant appliance in my smaller kitchen but fits really nicely in the corner and makes good coffee. Very convenient. The way the water filter fits is very weird and floaty though.

Coffee Shop Quality at Home
I have had this machine for a year and it’s been perfect! 0 issues so far. If you buy quality, fresh roasted beans you can essentially get espresso that tastes just as good as a local coffee shop. It is a little noisy but too be expected as it is grinding the beans. We love that it can do coffee and hot water too. Having to do no work and only push a button makes this truly stand out from other machines. Love it!

Great automatic coffee/espresso machine for a great price
Decided to upgrade to an automatic. So glad I did. I thought it was gonna be a bust because it’s a cheaper model. We use it everyday. It’s so easy to have a latte or cappuccino anytime. My only complaint is that it will not let you know when you are out of coffee beans.

Great tasting coffee without breaking the bank for a commercial espresso machine. Not for the espresso snob that needs to spend extra money to make the drink taste good.I’ve only had to do some minor repairs and I have kept up with the recommended maintenance.About two years in the hopper feed tube broke off inside the machine, but I was able to easily get replacement parts.Still going after four years.
