Basic Excellent Coffee Maker
I tried much more expensive coffee machines over the years, but none come close to the consistent excellent coffee this machine makes. My only complaint is that the heating element plate begins to rust after about a year. I sprayed my plate with high-heat black spray paint, and now three years later, there is no rust. For the price, the quality is excellent.

Basic simple and long lasting
So in my humble opinion, coffee pots shouldn’t be as expensive as some of them are. Pour water over the coffee grounds and into a pot with a heating element under it. With that being said I have seen some coffee pots run in the Easley over $100 range. Now okay I understand if you want to have a clock involved so it can start your coffee for you, that’s fine and I’m sure that’ll cost a couple extra dollars, and if you want something really nice and prestigious looking because you care what your guests think about what you’ve spent on random items then yeah drop a hundred bucks on a nice one maybe it’s stainless steel or something and has a good company logo on the front of it.Personally, I’m not that difficult. I get up in the morning I push the button on this thing and by the time I get out of the shower I’ve got a nice hot pot of coffee waiting for me and life is good. The only thing I wish this had and this is only because my previous pot did have this option is that if you don’t turn this off it’ll just stay on all day and you really don’t want to cook that empty pot all day. There is a light on the button so if you’re leaving the house and the light is still on yeah you might want to shut this off. And honestly after a couple weeks I got into the habit of making sure I shut it off as I picked up the pot to pour my coffee so it hasn’t really been an issue, it was only a problem for a week or two because like I said my previous pot automatically shut off so I got lazy and just let it do its thing. So anyway, if you’re just looking for something to make your coffee, and you don’t really want to spend $50 or $100, I’ve had this for quite a while now and it works great. I do have well water which has a lot of extra minerals and crap in it so I do find myself doing a 50% vinegar solution which you pretty much need to do with any coffee pot from time to time but in my case a little more often… And other than that, I expect this thing’s going to last me a few more years.

A great basic coffee pot
This is the second Mr Coffee pot that I’ve purchased. My first one lasted six years.One reviewer said that the lid doesn’t come off. It does come off, but the first one or two times it’s very stiff. After that, no problem. If you want a no frills coffee pot this one is excellent.

I’ve been using Mr. Coffee since it was, about 45 or more years ago. Used to be made right here in Cleveland Ohio USA. It was revolutionary at the time, very hot water over coffee grounds, dripped into a serving pot. The hot water design is what it was all about. The standard model I bought, which is basically like the original design, has no timers and other bells. You can’t go wrong with this coffee maker. OK, it’s not a perfect world and in this case the number of cups capacity markings are barely readable but an easy fix with a Sharpe marker writing the cups number and drawing a line for level indication does the job. I know this is long write for a simple coffee maker but we go back a long time, Mr. Coffee and me. A FLAVOR TIP: Try using distilled water instead of tap or bottled, the very best cup is the result, and…………you’ll never have to clean your coffee maker, and you even can use 1/3 less coffer grounds. What a deal. Enjoy and share the story.

I have used this style Mr. Coffee for years. Last year when my old one finally gave out, the only manual Mr. Coffee I could find in the stores in my neighborhood was the supposedly “new and improved” version. WRONG. I put up with it for almost a year but couldn’t stand it anymore. Had to find the older, better Mr. Coffee. This version has water levels viewable from either side; doesn’t try to scald you when you remove the pot; dual anchored handle; thicker glass on the pot. You don’t have to tip the complete unit over to get all the water out of the area where the basket sits. Water levels shown for brews from 2 cups to 12 cups…not just 6 to 12. The only coffee pot I will use! Thank you, Amazon, for still stocking this version!

i broke the glass pot of my last unit so buuying a new coffee maker made more sense then trying to replace the glass pot. i am SO happy i chose this “mr coffee” coffee maker. I LOVE IT!you should know that it does NOT come with a coffee filter of any kind. they are easy to get (like everything else) on Amazon….i would much rather have this “simple” coffee maker as opposed to a unit with more features. just one button. on/offworks so well. my advice to you would be this. after a few minutes of brewing, take a heavy duty plastic knife or spoon and give the grinds a gentle stir. makes all the difference in the world.the heck with all the bells & whistles… this is the only coffee machine you’ll ever need!have a good morning with (thats Mr to you) coffee!

Great basic coffee maker
I wanted a basic coffee maker without all the extra programs. It does not take much time for me to add new coffee grinds and water in the morning, so I didn’t want to pay extra for the added programs. I also don’t drink a lot of coffee, so I didn’t need to have a coffee maker larger than 12 oz. Typically, 12 oz of coffee lasts me a week in the fridge for 2 people to consume. Only downside is that it does not make exactly 12 oz of coffee. If you add 12 oz of water you’ll get anywhere between 10-11 oz of coffee, so this is something to be wary of if that bothers you. This does not bother me, as I said I don’t drink much coffee.

I am not a coffee snob. My needs with regard to a coffee maker are quite simple: brew coffee. I don’t need it to be programmable, single serve, grinding and brewing etc. This coffee maker fits the bill perfectly. I feel that the price of this machine reflects its simplicity in providing the most basic of functions. However, I have lost count of how many Mr. Coffee coffeemakers I have gone through. They don’t last. The longest I have managed to keep one going is 3 years, and that was several coffee makers ago. Knowing this, after one year I will purchase another coffee maker to have on hand. I purchased this coffee maker in October 2020. I was quite proud of myself for having this one ready to go when my previous coffee maker died in January 2021. I certainly was not prepared for this one to take a crap after four months of very light use. It seems that the on off switch is no longer functioning. There’s a short in there somewhere because occasionally if I mess with it enough the light will come on and the coffee maker will start working. I’m sure it’s still under warranty but I cannot imagine it would be cost effective for me to pay shipping costs to return a $20 coffee maker for repair. That’s where they get you. So back to the drawing board where I will be looking at other brands with possibly better durability and quality.

Still available!Our original coffee maker died.This replaced another unit of the same model that kept on perking 52+ years and perhaps 18,000 fillups.We were always able use good water. This is one reason why the unit never plugged up with corrosion or deposits. Occassional flushing as reccommended is another.There are no electronic bells and whistles to fail.This keeps coffee hotter than many competitive units we have seen.The biggest plus is great coffee fast!

This model the company boast of its simplicity.. that it only makes a great cup by properly drenching the grounds with water at the perfect temperature and the time of emertion of the coarsely grounded beans…notice that I said drenched, not drowned. Ha ha ha! This coffee maker and its manufacturer have made me an ‘at home sipper’ and over the 50 years of its existence they have become the ‘Go To’ guys for home and light commercial brewing. No small achievement And I cannot forget their first spokesperson, baseball legend Joe DiMaggio. His being married to Marilyn Monroe and his display of their relationship past divorce and even death..his leaving a rose yearly on her BIRTHDAY and providing past his own death the practice continued. good coffee maker, not expensive
One thing different about this from my previous coffee maker from Mr. Coffee is, it does not automatically turn off after an hour or so. That may or may not be desirable as a feature, depending on your needs. For me it works well; it also makes a noise if it’s been turned on for a few hours so you know that it is still on. The coffee is great and it’s easy to use.

I tried saving a few dollars snd bought a few cheap ones and they were terrible. I had a Mr coffee many years ago and it was damaged in a fire so I’m so happy I decided to get another one. We had our first one for 6 YEARS!!! It probably could have been replaces earlier because they do get some wear and tear, but it was working just fine the whole time. We had a Mr. Coffee 12-cup coffee maker before it died after 7 to 10 years of almost daily use. Hopefully, the new one will last at least as long. We still have the old glass coffee pot and use it when the previous batch of coffee gets low. One trick: it is a good idea to put the filter in place, to wet it thoroughly, and to make certain that it is clinging to the sides of the filter holder prior to adding the ground coffee. This helps to prevent the collapse of the filter during the brew procedure. It is a real mess if this happens! Finally, it would be helpful if the instructions included the size of the coffee filter.

This Mr Coffee replaces another Mr Coffee I’ve had for over forty years! Though it still worked and made excellent coffee the buttons for the delay brew, LCD clock, etc finally failed. This new coffee maker is much simpler with a basic ON/OFF switch. The carafe and basket from the old unit are the same size and will be kept as spares. The ONLY negative in my opinion is that there is no automatic turn off after two hours. Not a big deal, really. The single ON/OFF switch will work just fine though. Simpler is always better!!

Broke Before Annual Warranty
I only used the Mr. Coffee unit for hot water, never coffee grounds. 3 months before Annual Product Warranty was over, it stopped working for no reason. The Mr. Coffee Warranty website, provided by Amazon, does not work for photos (required), nor are the numbers engraved on the plug (required), input into the Warranty site form, & one of them does not even exist, on the plug. They do give a phone number, so i’ll be calling them tomorrow. The unit has always been excessively loud in processing cold water to hot water, so much so, as to be rather extremely distracting.

When all you want is a simple basic coffee maker
When all you want is a simple basic coffee maker for making a pot of coffee or tea (yes, I make pots of hot and iced tea in it as well–have you never thought of doing that yourself?) with no unnecessary frills to complicate things and provide more reasons to break or fail early, this is it.This coffee maker has the only thing that it needs: An on/off switch. And that’s all I wanted.My last Mr. Coffee lasted 10 years before it finally started to leak. I’m hoping for similar results from this one.And as an added bonus, if the glass carafe is every accidentally broken, replacements of just that part are easy to find.5 starts for doing exactly what I want it to do, and not anything else that I do not need.

This is a very basic coffee maker but I purchased it so that I can control it from my phone. I get up at different times of the day, so turning it on as I crawl out of bed allows me to have my first cup of coffee ready when I reach my kitchen. (not a morning person) My cat likes it too so I can focus on feeding her as I drink my coffee. This does not have a timer and/or automatic shutoff but can be controlled by the phone app per my smart plug. Most coffee makers with digital clocks, programmable will not work with a smart plug as it will just turn it on, clock setting, but not initiate the coffee to brew. Mr. Coffee has always been reliable and long lasting. Glad I purchased it

Do you ever wonder why 21st Century coffee is so complicated? Do you ever wonder if engineers purposely design small appliances to guzzle your money and fill up landfills??? We hate hot plastic leeching into our coffee. I was willing to spend 10 times this much (or more) on an EASY TO CLEAN and operate, nice-looking coffee maker with no plastic. I found that my dream coffee maker simply doesn’t exist under about a thousand bucks. And an industrial machine is overkill for 2 people!The last Mr. Coffee I had lasted 10 years. I expect this one will last about the same. The carafe pours perfectly with zero drips, in case you are wondering. This is a major flaw with many drip coffee maker carafes. It’s also dirt cheap to replace it if it breaks. And at the very least, no plastic touches your coffee once it is brewed. I was nonplussed to discover that many current fancy drip makers use a plastic-rimmed carafe.In all, you can’t find a better value for a decent cup of coffee, and ALL the waste produced is easily compostable. ‘Nuf said.

Best Coffee Maker Ever
I have been buying Mr. Coffee’s for decades. This one is improved, the carafe is nicer NO DRIPPING. I love this coffee maker, it is the BEST!!

I relentlessly, perhaps obsessively, searched through all of the coffee makers available these days. There are so many types, and so many are crazy expensive. Everyone had good and bad reviews, so I just thought I’d stick with basic. This works perfectly. It just doesn’t have extra bells and whistles, but I don’t care about that. It brews the coffee well. I just have to remember to turn it off bc it does not have an automatic timer like my last one. It gets the job done though.

Timeless caffeination
This replaces one like it that I’ve had for about ten years, the controls finally started to go. This is simple — on/off, no frills. Doesn’t take a lot of space, doesn’t take a lot of time to make coffee, doesn’t require special filtration. I like old fashioned diner coffee, this does the trick.

Love this coffee pot simple, and does’t go off every two hours.
Use coffee pots for coffee and loose green tea. Husband brews both so, he has 1 pot for coffe and another for tea. I drink 1/2 regular coffee and 1/2 decafe so, I brew with my own pot. We also keep a pot for travel set up to go in box. We always keep an eye on how much is in coffee pot to not let it go dry. I do not drink as much coffee so, when I am ready I just shut off and micro wave what is left.

Bought for a special purpose
I bought this coffee pot for two main reasons. 1) Mr. Coffee coffee machines last FOREVER and 2) the lack of extra buttons. I bought this for my mother who had alzheimers and now she make coffee on her own with this. There’s only the one button (on/off). Although I do wish it had that 2hr cut off, this machine has given her back a little freedom of being able to do it herself. So thank you Mr. Coffee, you’ve helped a wonderful woman maintain a little independence.

Fixable Minor Inconviences for 5 stars
I read the reviews before purchasing and worked around the complaints. Tape the coffee maker in the on position to avoid the switch failing-turn it on by plugging in! To avoid paper filter failure use 2 and make sure filters sit evenly and completely down. Do not overfill with coffee amount at start-I like stronger coffee and use 5 generous scoops of coffee measured by a Gevalia coffee scoop. I’m guessing a tablespoon is the equivalent. Make sure grounds are evenly distributed in the filter-like a lake and not a mountin! I fill the water in the pot between 12 cups and the maximum. Swing the water injector All the way over manually and close the top. Plug in to start. Once the coffee level is over the 12 cup mark I open the lid and quickly drain any water and IMMEDIATELY close the lid and wait til the action stops and then turn the coffee maker off by UNPLUGGING. I don’t use the 2hr hotplate feature, but a microwave to heat any additional cups. This way the heating element isn’t prone to having any problems. Following these simple steps has kept my Mr.Coffee working without incident. You can always decrease the amount of grounds or water used for your preference and if the paper filter flops over make sure it is opened evenly and the grounds are level! Hope this works for you!!!

No Bells or Whistles – Horray!
Simple, uncomplicated coffee maker. Just makes the coffee and will keep it warm. Manual on/off switch. No other buttons, switches, or sounds. This is my kind of coffee maker with a decanter that is exactly like a few other past models I have had over the years. I will keep one extra just in case. You’ll love this, if you don’t want or need all the extras.The only caution I need to mention is that the On/Off switch has a very small light to indicate when it’s ON. You need to be diligent in remembering to turn it off manually when not in use.

Oldie but goodie
I am 66 years old and do not want to be bothered with gadgets that have 15 buttons to push before you get a cup of coffee. I have been using Mr. coffee coffee pods since the day I moved out of my mothers at 18 years old. I was so happy to find a replacement for my Mr. coffee pot when it just stopped working one morning. And I was able to replace it with exactly the same model. That made me happy.

This is my 3rd Mr. Coffee of this same model. I replaced my last one only because I wanted a shiny, very clean new one. If it had automatic shut-off, it would be completely perfect, but I don’t seem to need that feature anyway. The coffee is good, hot, quick enough. No malfunctions.

no drip pouring
Have purchased and used many Mr. Coffee coffeemakers. Some seemed to drip as you poured and as you were filling the coffeemaker. This one is much improved, no drip. Now we prefer the coffeemakers that are not automatic, no clock blinking in power outages or when first plugged in. Sure, it doesn’t go off after 2 hours, but that wasn’t always a plus.

Cheap workhorse!
Bought this coffee maker for the office to save money from having to use a hundred K cups a week. Make about 3 pots of coffee a day and it does a great job. It does drip if you fill a cup up form the unit but that’s if it’s running which isn’t a big deal. Great value for the money and can’t beat how great it does in an office of 15 people!

Simple coffee machine, good coffee
I’ve had a couple more expensive coffee machines with the extras including timed brewing, alarms etc. However there’s always issues with operation, durability and leakage. So I decided to get back to the basics with a Mr. COFFEE pot.ProsInexpensive, no fuss, easy to use. Nice size and fits under my cabinet. Less technical features so less chance of a defect occurring. Most importantly makes good hot coffee quickly. So no need to wait long and it has pause feature if I want my coffee even sooner. No leakage and has the pause feature.ConsNo timed delay or alarms to indicate coffee is brewed. However I consider that more a positive. I don’t need those features.

Very simple and easy to use.
Very reliable, easy to use and clean coffee maker. I love that in it has just an on/off switch to operate it. I have been using this style of coffee maker for many years without any issues. I have tried other brands at times but always come back to this model. I hate that it is getting harder to find this style. Seems everyone wants to sell the models with timers, clocks, etc. They don’t make the coffee taste any better.
