Used this thing 6+ times a day for 9 months and it still works great.
Consistent, easy to clean, never had issues. Well worth the expense if you want something that just works, is easy to deal with, and saves you a few minutes each day (which really adds up).

Great Machine!
We had our De’Longhi Dama Avant for 6 great years (see that review if you want) and finally sputtered, coughed and died….#heartbroken ;). As we were now spoiled for only the best we went on a quest for a replacement and ended up with the Eletta. While I am not keen on the amount of black or plastic on the machine, it outperforms our last machine by far. The taste is wonderfully full and rich, the Crema beautiful and the milk comes out as frothy (or not) as you want it. After a week in my kitchen, I am in love again and all is right with the world.

Quality construction
On these units for 10 years or more and keep coming back to this company. This machine is much quieter than previous ones. It’s intuitive graphics on the front. Make it very easy to use. The milk frothing feature works better than expected. Cannot make designs in the coffee like they do at Starbucks but Cost of doing your own far outweighs getting in the car and driving across town to have one served to you. Well worth the splurge to buy this unit.

Great Machine Once You Learn How To Use It.
I am not a tech type person, so my review will be from a non-technical perspective as an average user of this product.Although I was fairly proficient with my former manual espresso machine, I will say that there is a fairly steep learning curve with this machine. That said, when you master this machine, the coffee it makes is exceptional. The machine is digitized, and you are able to make standard coffee, caffelatte, macchiato, cappucino, and plain espresso. After you fill the water container and coffee bean grind area, you slide on the milk frothing container. You will want to place a cup under the coffee spouts because the machine will automatically rinse before making coffee– so if you put a cup under the spouts you won’t have to clean out the drip tray. Then you select the kind of coffee brew you want, and select the type of milk frothing you want. Place a cup of the size you wish under the coffee spouts and aim the frother nozzle into the cup. When you push the OK button, the grinder will start and you’ll have the coffee you want in about 60 seconds. When you prepare the milk menu, you can make the milk as frothy as you want, from flat to almost whipped cream consistency (which I LOVE). You can make a full size cup of coffee or a single shot of espresso in the cup of your choice because the coffee spouts move up and down to accommodate practically any cup. The coffee menu allows you to make coffee as mild or strong as you wish. Once you have configured your favorite coffee strength and froth consistency, you can make coffee to please every taste. You can also set the machine to make certain coffees for individuals, and don’t have to keep setting the machine for every use. The machine can also be set to turn on and automatically make coffee at any time you wish. There are loads of other settings that I still haven’t explored, but I’m still getting acquainted with the machine, which can be a little touchy. I had a problem with getting a message to add coffee to the machine when it still had coffee beans in it, so I’ve learned to give the beans a little stir each time before making coffee. The coffee funnel also needs to be clean (a simple procedure) or the machine will think the bean container is empty. One extremely convenient feature is the milk container, which slides on and off for storing in the refrigerator when not in use. You can fill the milk container to the top and use it over several days without having to refill. I love that feature! This coffee machine can be challenging to use at first, so keep your instruction booklet handy until you get the hang of it. It took me several weeks to get comfortable with this machine, but now that I can pretty well run it, I absolutely love it! It comes with a package of cleaner to keep the machine free of scale from hard water and a brush for keeping the machine functioning at its best.Be patient. Once you’ve learned how to use it, it is a truly spectacular coffee maker.Note: I added some photos of the machine running, but they loaded sideways for some reason and I can’t correct it. Sorry about that.

Push a button and I’ve got a cup of my favorite coffee!
Push a button and go, I love this espresso machine! I’ve been roasting my own coffee for over twenty years so I know my coffee is exactly to my liking and the freshest I could ever get. But I always brewed my coffee (many different ways including a Technivorm) but I’ve never owned an espresso machine. I felt it was too much work for such a small cup, I want to enjoy my coffee every morning. There have been many automated espresso machines but they never stayed on the market very long for various reasons. I won’t give up my brewing methods but every morning I can now get a cup of my favorite coffee by the press of button!Espresso is created by forcing the water through the grounds where as brewing just runs water over the grounds. It’s ridiculous to compare an espresso machine to a coffee brewer. I have a Technivorm Moccamaster. It is certified by a coffee association to heat the water to the correct temp (actually it just boils it and by the time it gets to the grounds it is in the correct range). But that is all it does, the brewing components are just a square metal tube and a cheap plastic basket to hold a normal filter. Espresso machines have many parts and components especially one like this that is automated.READ THE MANUAL, and watch the videos online. You can preview them anytime on the Delonghi website. I did while waiting for mine to be delivered, even the videos are well done. There are a lot of different ways to make an espresso and settings to modify each. There are also suggestions on getting the water hot enough. With drip brewing the coffee water can be as low as 160 by the time it gets to the cup. I measured the temp of this machine at the point where it comes out. It was as high 190 and low as 182. I also boil water and pre-heat my cup before making a drink which makes the coffee in the cup hot enough for me.Some of the great features:Looks great, black with enough touches of chrome and great angels. When you first turn it on the digital readout steps you through the first time use/initial setup.Stores whole coffee beans or you can pre-grind your coffee.Lots of adjustments: amount of coffee, amount of water, hardness of water, temperature (4 settings not actual amount), auto start, auto shutoff, etc.Comes with a hardness tester, a little strip that you briefly dip in water. Then you set the hardness setting based on that.Push button controls for straight, long, latte, cappuccino, macchiato, hot water, steam.Digital readout tells you when to empty the used grounds, fill the water tank, add beans, clean, etc.Coffee grounds are pressed into little hockey pucks and dumped into a waste holder. It tells you when to dump the used grounds. Easy to pull out, dump and wash out.It comes with a water filter so you can just fill the water tank directly from the sink. It should be replaced every two months. Some issuesOne issue I have is that it’s easy to accidently touch a button and start something. I’ve had to press the Menu/Esc key a few times. But as I use it more I do it less. The Empty Coffee Grounds message appears a little too soon in my opinion. It wasn’t even half full so it happens more than necessary. But it’s so easy to do it’s not a huge deal.It does have a problem with peaberry (small) beans. Occasionally they will bunch together and stop so I have to lift the lid and stir them up a bit.Support: I did try support. After waiting on hold for 10 minutes the music stopped and all went silent. After several minutes of silence I finally got someone but there was a bit of a language barrier. And, unfortunately, I suppose since this is a new machine, they aren’t all that familiar with it yet so I was put on hold a couple of times as she had to go find the answer to my question. For a machine in this price range I would expect better support especially since this is a newly released machine. It’s complex enough as a user, you would expect to get someone who knows more than you. On the other hand I’m one of the lucky ones who got to try this early so it was an experience and is fun to use!Overall, I am very happy with this espresso machine. I just push a button for a quick cup of my favorite home roasted bean. I have it set to extra strong taste and extra long coffee then I press the two cup button. This fills a decent sized mug. My wife loves the lattes this makes as well!

Consistent results
I’m very pleased with the ease of use. A real barista probably wouldn’t go for a fully automatic machine like this one but results are comparable. I never use preground although the option is there. Fresh roasted whole bean is why I bought it. I put the grind setting on 2. Pressure still pushes out a nice stream. On no.1 it dribbles out and may be hard on the machine. Big cost I know but since I use it every day I’m happy with the purchase

Amazing Espresso at home….finally
This machine is everything that I was hoping it would be and I couldn’t be happier with it. The size, functionality and price point of it had me a little hesitant to use it at first…..that and the lack of power from Hurricane Irma. Once I finally overcame my trepidation I went right out a bought a bag of whole bean espresso. I read through both the quick guide instructions and the fully detailed instruction manual to make sure I knew what I was doing. My first few drinks took a little adjusting, per the manual, to figure out exactly how course the grind should be and what flavor strength I wanted. I would say by the 4 drink that I made, I had it pretty dialed in. Of course, by that point I was jittery and shaking from all of the coffee. The machine comes with a water filter that some people might want to use. Being a craft beer drinker, I know that the flavor of the water plays a major part in drink as a whole. I recommend using either your favorite spring water or if you like the mineral taste of your tap water then use it. The instructions say that the machine is calibrated with the water hardness set at maximum, but feel free to use the test strip and calibrate to your liking. After going through my first bag of whole bean, I went right out and bough some more espresso. I didn’t notice that one of the bags was pre-ground, but I went ahead and used it to test out how well the machine worked. I definitely do not recommend using ground espresso at all. The machine is very touchy and if you put in even a little too much coffee it will just dump it right into the grounds container and end up wasting a lot of coffee. Finally, the removable and AUTO CLEANING milk container is the perfect compliment to this machine. I like that if I don’t use all of the milk I can just toss it back into the fridge to keep cold. It also cleans itself, and that saves a lot of time. I can honestly say that Delonghi is worth every positive review and everything that I thought it would be. Take your time to read the instructions and have some patience as you dial in your flavor settings. If you do all of that, you can save a small fortune skipping Starbucks or your hipster coffee house.

Great Lattés – initial impressions
First impressions after only a few days use. This machine replaced a 6 year old Phillips Exprellia Evo. I don’t know how much of this is 6 years of technological advances and how much is a difference in machines / brands, but so far we like the DeLonghi much better. 1- the milk frothier on the Phillips was OK, but it left Lattés warm but not hot. The DeLonghi frothier makes better froth AND it is hot, so our drinks are much hotter, which we appreciate. 2- While the DeLonghi has some regular (think daily, weekly for the most part) maintenance, it appears to need less maintenance than the Phillips. Specifically I have to do almost nothing with the brew group with the DeLonghi, while with the Phillips I was instructed to manually clean the brew group each week and lubricate it. Access to the bean reservoir is easy. Access to the water tank is easy and the tank is (I think) a bit larger than the Phillips. Controls on the DeLonghi are intuitive (mostly), easy to use and easy to clean. The container for expended grounds is larger on the DeLonghi so I’m not constantly being told to empty the grounds.DeLonghi instructions say no changes should be needed to the machine’s default settings to make good espresso drinks. In truth, both the beans one puts in the machine and personal taste will introduce enough variability that no default settings could produce delicious espresso for even a majority of people, let alone everyone. As a result, some fine tuning of the machine is likely to be required by most people. With default settings and our coffee beans, our initial shots tasted watered down, especially in a Latté. I’ve made a couple changes to the grind (finer) and strength of the shot (stronger, more coffee per shot) and the resulting shots are MUCH better. I’ve probably got just a little more fine tuning to do, but, with very little work we’ve gotten very close. So a plus for DeLonghi, the changes were easy to make and we didn’t need to change much or spend a lot of time making changes to arrive at great coffee. While the DeLonghi machine has a large cup warmer on the top, don’t think it will warm your large coffee mugs. It doesn’t. DeLonghi says you must use their descaling solution to avoid damaging the machine. I doubt this is true, though it is probably true that there are some descaling solutions that would damage it. I looked on the container of their solution for ingredients but they are not listed. That said, the official DeLonghi descaling solution in a large container is only $2.00 per cycle on Amazon so I’m not going to worry about having to use the brand name product. It doesn’t cost that much. One of the limitations of high end home espresso machines is that they eventually need repair but there is almost no reputable place to get them repaired. When you find a place, as i did for the Phillips, you have to send it off. As a result, the quality of the machine and the number of “moving parts” it contains is very important. This DeLonghi machine has the fewest 1 and 2 star reviews over the last 3 years of any fully automatic espresso machine I found on Amazon. That suggests to me that the machines aren’t failing. And while I don’t know about the moving parts inside the machine, in my past experience less prescribed regular maintenance correlates with a machine (e.g. a car) that is more reliable. I’m expecting this DeLonghi machine to work for a longer period of time before it needs repair. I’ll keep you posted. When I have more experience with this machine I’ll update this review. For now, I’m optimistic and happy with the purchase.October 2022 – working great. Still love this machine.

Worth the price! Highly recommend!
I upgraded from my Breville Duo Pro Plus. I liked that machine, but soon tired of the steps needed to clean it before you could sit down and enjoy the coffee. I also lacked any sort of skill in making it by hand so 1 out of 3 cups or so would turn out poorly due to user error. This machine solved all of that. I love the variety of coffee choices, as I am a big milk-based coffee drinker. I can only do decaf whereas hubby is a drip coffee drinker. This machine also solves that due to my putting decaf beans in and using the bypass with hubby’s ground coffee. Hubby hates Americanos from Starbucks or pourovers because he finds them to watery. The Eletta allows you to tweak the settings so his ExtraLong coffee on the standard taste run twice will fill his mug. Gloriously, this allows me to finally get rid of the Keurig and free up space. The milk container and frothing system is brilliant. Just poor it in the container and slide it into position- super easy and nothing tricky at all to line up. The machine will froth and brew. At the end it will remind you to clean the frother- this is achieved by simply turning the button to clean and it takes maybe 15 seconds. Pop the carafe of milk back in the fridge for the next use. I now literally just push a button for my favorite drinks. Flavor is great once you dial in to your likes. Avoid using oily beans- the will gum up any superautomatic machine. It has an energy saver mode that I really appreciate, especially since it only takes a minute or so to run a rinse cycle and be ready to go. I bought mine at a big box store online that starts with the letter C for $500 less than today’s price listed on Amazon. But even at full price, I would not hesitate to purchase this. Highly recommend!

This is a great machine!
I have owned like 5 Juras. This is my first delonghi…This machine is just really nice. Frothed milk is great, and hot! ground coffee capacity is more than typical, programs work well. The whole office can pretty much make anything now. Easy to clean. I have a Jura z50 also, but likely will not buy another Jura, after using this machine about 2 months now. The only thing I do not like is the water volume is too much, I have to tell it to stop when I want a proper espresso.. Only two programs are user set table, my milk, and my coffee.

The sound of coffee beans grinding is the perfect alarm clock for the morning! It is so easy to make a quick cup and great for serving guests. Clean up is super duper easy, since it streams itself clean and the milk container stores back in the fridge between uses. We use purified water to try to keep it cleaner.

‘SUPER’ Automatic Espresso Machine is right!
This machine is ‘Super’!During the last year while saving up money to buy a Super Automatic Espresso Machine, I conducted a lot of research. I’m OCD, so the research on all the different Super Automatic Espresso Machines (SAEMs) was extensive; companies, (DeLonghi, Seaco/Phillips, Gaggia, Jura, KRUPS, etc.), features and benefits, pros and cons, warranties, pricing, etc. And after all that research, I finally narrowed it down to DeLonghi’s ECAM 45760 machine. Its regular price was much more than I originally wanted to spend, but my tenacity paid off because I found a demo unit that was essentially new (with only 2 drink cycles) and at a price just little above what I originally wanted to spend, and carries the 2-year warranty.Additionally, I called a few different espresso machine repair shops, talked to their Repair Technicians, and asked which machines (Saeco/Phillips, Gaggia, Jura, KRUPs, etc.) were the most reliable that they repair the least, and I was told the DeLonghi’s Super Automatic Espresso machines are the best and most reliable, especially when you follow the recommended periodic maintenance. If you take care of your machine, your machine will take care of you. ;-)This machine has been excellent so far and is very well designed and made. The water reservoir pulls out from the front-right side, so I don’t have to pull out the whole machine to add water at the top of the machine like other SAEMs. The LaCrema system makes excellent froth/milk drinks, and the selection of different type of drinks is great. I have always been more of a black drip coffee drinker, so the dedicated ‘Long’ Coffee function, which brews drip style coffee via a different brewing process that simulates drip style coffee processing, is awesome; I get consistent drip style cups of coffee every time. I occasionally like to drink a ‘standard’ Cafe Latte, and this machine makes an awesome one of those as well! Want an extra espresso shot in your Café Latte? No problem, once the Café Latte is finished being made, just press the espresso button once, and an extra shot will be added to your Café Latte. NOICE!!!I don’t understand why other reviewers have stated that some of the drink menus are difficult to understand. If you take the time to ready the User’s Manual like you’re supposed to, and/or watch the YouTube videos, it is very easy and intuitive. I did both, so maybe that is why it seemed to be easy and straight forward for me.All in all, if you’re looking for a reliable ‘Super’ Automatic Espresso Machine with great design/features, that is easy to use, has a lot of different coffee drink options, then I highly recommend this machine.

Excellent coffee machine for those of us who are true coffee snobs. This machine is an improvement over earlier variants with a larger water tank, bean hopper and coffee puck discard container. Make sure to read the directions for the best cup and forgive the machine if the first two or three are not what you expected. The instructions are a little lacking but it is easy to find YouTube videos for the Eletta. Although a bit more expensive than the Nespresso machines, there is no environmental waste associated to the end cup.

A wonderful espresso machine
I have to say I was a bit reluctant to buy one of the super automatic espresso makers. For the price, would it be worth it? Would it make a great drink? Would be to too complex to use? Well, I have to say that my worries were all allayed. The Delonghi is a great gadget. It took no time to set up. The directions were easy to follow, and they even had instructional videos you need them. Right out of the box it makes a great cup.The automatic milk frother is easy to use and works well. This stores easy in the refrigerator when not in use. I do not miss having to hand froth the milk in the AM when I am trying to get out of the house in a hurry. It holds LOTS of bean and water, so you are not spending all kinds of time filling it up. The unit itself warms up in moments when you turn it on, so you are not standing around forever waiting for you espresso. Its not cheap….but I think its worth it. If you are a big coffee drinker like us, it will not take as much time as you think to ‘pay for itself’ by cutting out all the trips to the ‘green mermaid’. 🙂

Simply amazing machine! Easy to use, easy to clean, and as-needed milk frothing and bean grinding
I wish I could give this more than 5 stars! We spent months in Italy and we became quite addicted to fancy espresso drinks… We wanted to replicate them at home, and tried to do so with cheaper models of espresso machines. They did okay…but we knew we could do better.I had long been dreaming of a machine like this, but couldn’t justify the cost, as I wasn’t sure how different they were from the cheaper models. Well, now I can tell you–if you are a big espresso drinker, this is WORTH the cost! I had no idea that a home-machine could create drinks like this–foam milk like this–holy cow!We started with simple espresso, which was awesome. The creme is beautiful. Temperature is perfect. The way it grinds fresh beans for each drink is awesome, and the way it stores the used grounds makes it super-easy to clean up.Then we started with the milky drinks. Holy cow. I have never seen milk frothed so thick, so creamy–it’s really amazing! The way you can store the milk in the refrigerator is quite useful, too. Other frothers are “use it or lose it”. This one froths as-needed, and you can store the container easily (and reconnect it easily). We have made so many drinks, it’s crazy. This takes some studying to get the hang of all of the options, and I’m sure we will still learn more as we go, but it’s SO easy to use and clean up.It is quite large, but fits on the counter, under the cabinets just fine. It looks marvelous too…A complete win–and yes, it’s worth the cost!

Excellent espresso, cappuccino, flat white, a wonderful addition to my mornings!
My mornings have recently gotten much better because of this fabulous and easy to use espresso machine. It takes very little time to warm the system up to brew after it’s been shut down for the day, about 2 minutes. I then grab milk I keep in the milk tank container from the fridge and exchange it with the water nozzle. Press a couple of buttons and a wonderful fancy drink awaits me.For my first cup I usually will go for a flat white and add an extra shot of espresso. At first it took me some extra time to figure out how to make the flat white because it doesn’t have a button of it’s own but after reading the manual I realized in the milk menu before pressing okay you can keep pressing the cappuccino button until it lands on one of the extra drink combinations. The drink comes out frothy and delicious, and when I use min froth as recommended in the manual it come out at the perfect height in my standard size mugs.I have tried out the pre-ground coffee option and I have to say it’s not my favorite. You have to add the one serving of coffee grounds one scoop at a time when you make it or it will get clogged up over time where as the full beans are poured into the back slot all at once so you don’t have to think about loading for every coffee beverage. Another set back with the pre-ground coffee is that it’s messy. It’s a fairly small slot that you add the grounds to and it’s inevitable that the grounds will fall around the loading hole and around the top of the machine. Grounds are difficult to clean up because of their size and in the end to me it’s not worth the hassle and the taste is not as good as fresh ground coffee. Several times when I load the coffee into the pre-ground slot reaching over I accidentally touch one of the controls on the way and have to reset it to pre-ground again so the machine coaches me to at grounds again after I just added them. I try to be extra careful if I have to load pre-ground from now on. Also as far as I can tell you can’t use any of the fancy pre-programed frothy drinks buttons like the cappuccino the flat white with the pre-ground function. Basically stick to the beans and you will be much happier.I like that there is a cup warmer. I don’t always use this function because it adds extra time (about 20 minutes), not an option when waiting for that first cup of coffee. I read an interesting alternative recommendation for a warmer cup. Rising with the hot water function first to get some extra warmth in the cup before making the coffee. This is a nice quicker solution when you don’t have the extra time and I find it works just as well. The machine is really great at coaching you through the many steps in keeping things running. It will let you know when you have to reload the water tank, empty the grounds, change the milk froth settings from clean. There is quite a bit of function as well as it’s share of maintenance to this machine wonderful machine, fortunately the manual is quite extensive and has answered all of my questions so far.

You can become your own barista and show off to your friends that your coffee is the best!
This took a bit of learning to use, but after a few tries, well it is very easy and provides some of the best coffee we have had in years. The simplicity is in the way you get ready, prepare the water, and set up the milk. After that it is a bit of a learning experience since there are many variations you have available. It all depends on the type of coffee you want to have. For instance if you want regular coffee there are 5 different settings depending on the strength. What we found is that since we have always been coffee drinkers of regular coffee the blend which we preferred was a milder one. This machine makes a strong to stronger and regular which are all pretty strong. The milder settings of which there are two make this very nice to get that cup you really want.Another feature is that you can make coffee to fill your cup the way you want it. There are adjustments for a extra long (we call it a tall or regular cup) then gradually you can down size to the cup of your choice. We found you have to play around with the settings, but they all turned out good, just that you have to decide how much coffee to put in your cup. If you don’t put enough in, all you have to do is hit the button again. When using coffee beans it was very nice to be told when to empty the special container where the grounds get stored. They come out very easily and we preferred to dump them right into the trash bin rather than putting them down the drain since we have a septic system. When the water gets low in the water container the machine stops and lets you know to add more water. Speaking of the water storage…there is a special water filter that comes with the unit which you can use or not. However, additionally, there is a test strip for you to determine the hardness of your water and there is a recommendation as to whether or not to use the special filter depending upon the hardness. Very good idea!We shopped around for the right beans and have purchased some specialty ones for espresso and cappuccino. The milk frothier has three 3 settings one of which heats the milk which goes into the cup automatically, there is a frothier to make the milk really large in volume, and the last setting is one that makes warm milk only without the coffee. We found a couple of things which you have to know, one is the manufacturer recommends that you use either no fat or 1 % milk since that is best. Another thing, is that the milk can be stored in your refrigerator to use the next time out, but do not leave it more than a couple or three days since it was curdle. If you want to use ground coffee (you know the one from the grocery store aisle) you can! There is an included measuring cup and the company recommends that you only put in one level measure at a time. Let the machine make the cup and then if you want more, put another measure in since this is designed for slower production.Speaking of the production time, this machine is very quick in each process. Whether it is to grind the beans or add the froth. We leave our machine plugged in and just have to hit the on button which starts heating up the water so that it is ready when you select what type of coffee you want. The base of the tray is designed to catch any drips which may fall during the warm up process. There is a bit of hot water that comes out when it is getting ready, what we do is put a cup under the two spouts to catch this water which is about a couple of tables spoons at most.
