    The best coffee machine

This is the best coffee maker I have ever had. We used to have 3 different machines before buying this. This grinds the beans and makes different coffees. It is like you are having coffee in Europe every morning. Very easy to use and clean.

Works great & support helped resolve the milk carafe connection issue

We got our De’Longhi Magnifica Evo with LatteCrema System in December 2023 and it has worked really great up until recently. Beverages are hot and frothing is always perfect. We make sure it is cleaned daily and follow the maintenance instructions; it’s actually not much work at all, it has an easy clean up process. Because of this it is a complete surprise to have it suddenly machine experience trouble recognizing the milk carafe. It has no problem using the clean button when it is connected, but the milk drinks lights no longer turn on when the milk carafe is connected. When I do press the latte button, the clean button light appears and there is an exclamation at top, but even after it finishes the clean process, it doesn’t recognize that the same milk carafe it just finished cleaning is attached. We reached out to support & they helped us resolve this issue (the sensor stopped seeing the milk so we placed a white piece of paper over the bottom sensor as suggested by support & now it works).

A great machine at a great price

I don’t write reviews often and wanted to wait about 6 months to see if I still like the Magnifica Eva. So the answer is yes! I shopped various others and at the end opted for this one because it really does make high-level espresso drinks with a ‘one-button’ approach. So here are some pro’s, con’s, and highlights:Pros: Very simple to use once you get past the instructions. They do need to improve these. But it does make excellent coffee with minimal care. You just have to follow the descaling instructions every few weeks. We use it multiple times a day and it has not failed at all. Also it doesn’t consume much counter space.Cons: Well we have all got used to touchsceens with easy instructions. This is not that machine. Harken back to the 2000’s when multi-function buttons were the thing. But once you get used to those, it is very predictable. The water reservoir is a bit on the small side so if you are a big coffee drinker, you will have to fill it daily. Also I haven’t used the foaming milk attachments since I really don’t want to clean those and a battery whisk is much simpler.Pro-tips: 1) Use espresso roast beans. They just work better. The per-cup cost is very low since the grinder is very efficient. 2) The isn’t much useful guidance on the grinding adjustment settings. After much experimentation, I feel that setting the knob to a “5” worked the best for me. 3) Empty the drip tray daily and give it a quick rinse.Overall I am very pleased. While the instructions are a bit archaic, you can can understand them with a bit of effort.

    Fantastically Strong Coffee Drinks

My first impression with this machine is that it is easy to get started! I literally went from unboxing to a finished latte within 10 minutes. Reading the directions is important to know everything available but you can also be a success with just a push of any button.I’ve tried every option of drink and all have so much flavor and the milk foam is perfect. I use dark roast whole beans and half & half milk which I think produces the exact latte I’m looking for with such little effort! One thing to be mindful of is that my usual tall on-the-go coffee cup does not fit under the spout. I remedy this by making it in a shorter cup and pouring it in to my larger one if I need to leave.Cleaning the machine and getting ready for the next day is as easy as a touch of a button!

    Great Espresso/Coffee – Solid Machine

Have owned this machine for 8 months and use it daily. It is the best espresso/coffee machine I have ever owned. The ease of use makes it a must for those early morning wake-ups. Adding water, changing the filter and disposing of the used grounds are all simple and straightforward. And, while some might find this an issue, I like that this machine does not make my espresso so hot that I have to wait 5 minutes to enjoy my first sip. It is the perfect temperature to enjoy my espresso right away. This is a great machine at a great price. I have yet to encounter any issues and it makes consistently good espresso/coffee.

Best home coffee I’ve ever had

The coffee that comes out of this machine is straight up amazing. It looks, smells, and tastes like I’m getting it from a gourmet restaurant. I’ve tried one cappuccino so far and that was delicious as well. It took me and my wife a few minutes of playing with it to figure out the buttons and I guess the system needed a cycle or two to start working seamlessly but since we figured it out, it’s been amazing. If you can afford it and appreciate a fantastic cup of coffee or cappuccino, I fully endorse it. My wife has used the tea setting (it heats water very quickly) and we’ll keep exploring with the other types of drinks. You can use either whole ground beans, just be careful that you put the right type of bean in the right spot (they don’t go in the same place). Water level is easy to check, the nozzle adjusts so you can control how foamy you like your coffee (I keep it at the “most foam” level because it’s perfect), and cleaning isn’t difficult but you do want to make sure you understand what parts come off for routine cleaning – for instance, after using milk for cappuccino, you have to clean the milk reservoir and tubes to avoid ganky milk nastiness. It’s normal and it’s easy, you just have to be deliberate and do it. Also, the machine will run a little water through the pipes to keep them clean and while it has a drip pan to catch that sort of thing, I recommend keeping a cup under the spout for simplicity.

Espresso as good as or better than in Italy! Honestly.

We had a Gaggia Brera for about 4 years. We’ve had the Delonghi for a few weeks. The new machine has the auto milk frother, it basically will make you a few types of latte, cappucino, and espresso – all completely automated. Not only is the quality of the espresso better than the Gaggia ever was, we’ve been to Italy, live in St. Louis (which is actually full of coffee shops and very snobby high end coffee location) and my wife and I agree the Delonghi makes a coffee as good as the best we’ve ever had, it’s amazing. The Delonghi has more bean capacity, more water capacity, more puck waste capacity and I’m not emptying the water tray (underneath the machine) every day like I was with the Gaggia. I LOVE THIS MACHINE. Couldn’t be happier. Great price point, great quality press, and overall you can tell the machine is better made than the Gaggia (more attention to detail, engineered better). Granted I think it was a few hundred more than we paid for the Gaggia.

Excellent so far, much better than ENA 4

Bought to replace a Jura ENA 4 which cost 50% more and started to malfunction after less than 2 years. The Magnifica looks better in my opinion and the removable brew head makes regular cleaning and maintenance easy, which was impossible with the Jura. The ejected pucks are well formed versus the mushy ones that came out of the Jura. You won’t get a professional grade machine here obviously, but 5 stars considering the price point.Pros:- Adjustable grind and coffee amount, gives excellent results when set properly. Factory set grind level seems way to coarse. Got best results when set close to the finest grind.- Removable brew head- Easy to cleanCons:- Coffee spout is a bit high for standard/low cups- Not sure what the “grid” in the coffee compartment is for. Makes it hard to fill with beans and for sure won’t prevent any small rocks from going into the grinder. It’s removable and that may be the way to go.

    Delicious 😋

I owned a De’Longhi Magnifica about 20 years ago, and it lasted a good 10 years. This newer model of Magnifica, (Evo) is nothing short of perfection.Ok, on to the functions….being German myself, I use a German brand of coffee beans, and since I prefer my coffee strong, I always use Espresso beans. The unit itself is a bit noisy, but thats to be expected, given that it has to grind the beans, heat and filter the water and extract all into a cup once all the grinding and mixing is complete. The coffee can’t be more fresh than with freshly ground beans right then and there. I like the new features of selecting the type of drink you’re making….as well as doubling up on the quantity by a simple press of the “X2” button. My old machine had none of that. You can select between many different types of beverages….Espresso, Coffee, Long, Americano or Over Ice. Steam for Cappuccino can be used for milk as well as frothing up your coffee, for those whom prefer a more crema coffee. Overall, I am VERY pleased with this unit, and it’s worth every penny. The water capacity is also great, and I suggest, to those new to this unit, to clean it daily, if used daily. This prevents any water slime, coffee ground disk rot, and keeps the unit running like a champ. You can also use already ground coffee, if you prefer, but as a matter of preference, I use whole beans, for added freshness.I posted images of the ground coffee beans disks ejected into container within machine after brewing is complete, to share with you what I do with those disc’s after I clean the tray holding these disks. In winter, I collect them in a zip lock bag, and place them into the freezer, to use in spring and summer for my plants, bushes and trees. Those work wonders for your plants.I have nothing negative to say about this unit, it’s SUPERB !!

    Makes Great Coffee!

We have used a DeLonghi Magnifica ESAM for over 15 years. The first one lasted over 10 years, the second one still works great, but we decided to give it to our daughter and buy the Maginfica EVO. Wow what an upgrade from an already great coffee maker. It is so easy to use, to clean and to program. Steams milk automatically and perfect every time. Well worth the extra $100 for the LatteCrema System. Now our only issue will be when our daughter and son-in-law visit and see our new one and wonder why they got the old one and not this one… OH WELL, such is life, and right now our life is blessed with a great coffee maker!!!

    Ruined me for regular coffee

I’m not as much of a coffee drinker as my spouse, but this coffee maker ruined me for other coffee. It makes such good coffee, and I love how you can adjust the bean grind and strength of the coffee. Our only issue is that the directions are not the easiest to understand. But if you want a fantastic cup of coffee that will ruin all others, this machine is for you. Absolutely worth it.

    Wow!!

Wow-get away from those nasty plastic/aluminum pods. This seems $$ but figure what you pay for Starbucks/keurig pods/nesspresso pods and guess what, it pays for itself. You can get your whole bean cheaper and the quality of the brew is delicious-which ever setting you choose. You can also use ground for the times you might want decaf. Read the directions carefully however, watch videos on cleaning so you know what not to do. Worth the investment.

    Exceptional super automatic espresso machine

I did a lot of research and waited for the price deals on Amazon before buying this machine last November. We have been using it ever since and are very pleased with the performance, flexibility and quality of the espressos, cappuccinos and coffees that it makes. It is very quick to cycle up and produces hot water, about 10-15 seconds, and the whole grind to espresso process takes less than a minute. It is also a lot quiter than I anticipated. We have a cat who doesn’t like loud noises and this has never bothered him.I have also tried making coffee using pre-ground beans and while it works, it doesn’t taste as good. It is pretty much the same taste as making it in an automatic drip coffee machine. There are only two minor things I wish were better. First, it doesn’t take long for the coffee pucks to trigger the sensor that you need to empty the bin. I have seen this happen after only 4-5 uses. The bin isn’t full at all, it just requires you to push the pucks down.Second, while the tray under the machine slides out easily for cleaning, there is always a little bit of coffee grounds at the very back of the tray that can fall out as you remove the tray. This is really more of an annoyance than anything.Beyond that, I would highly recommend this espresso machine to anyone.

Just the best coffee… and so easy to operate… easier than a Keurig!!

This is my second DeLonghi Magnifica. Fun fact. My first had a program setting. In just over 5 years, I served myself, friends and family over 25,000 cups of delicious, fresh aromatic coffees.. What a fun legacy. Well, I literally burned out my grinder and my dear husband suggested we get a new machine because of likely changes in technology. Got the new one. Wow. More simple to operate than my first (which a 5 year old could easily produce amazing Americanos and Espressos. This one is a smaller footprint than my last. It’s quieter. There are fewer options… but there are all the options I ever used on my first machine. It is easy to clean, understand and oh so easy to enjoy. Bon appetite!

Great Machine for This Price Range

This is an initial review as I’ve only had it set up for a week now, but soo far I couldn’t be happier. I watched a lot of video reviews on similar machines and settled on the the Magnifica Evo as I don’t need an extensive drink menu, but wanted the convenienceof an automatic machine. Early Prime Day pricing definitely got me off the fence.I followed the quick start guide, which made it a breeze. Setup was very easy, and it just took a few minutes to run the initial cleansing cycles. With the intensity set to maximum, it only took a few pours to dial in the grinder setting to where it didn’t stall the extraction. I do keep a cup under the nozzles to catch the little bit of water it runs in the startup and shutdown cleaning cycles. Otherwise you are dumping the drip tray frequently.I mostly use the “Coffee” button, which I guess some would call Coffee Crema, and it does produce a nice crema on top of the coffee. It’s really quite good. I have run several single and 2X shots, which were all great. I have also used the “Over Ice” function a few times and really like it. We don’t do a lot of milk drinks, but I do like a cappuccino once in awhile and was very happy with the results this machine produced. I’ve been using Costco’s Espresso Roast with satisfactory results. Your favorite beans should do just fine as well. Keep in mind that oily beans don’t do as well in these automatic machines and can cause blockage. All in all, it appears to be everything I needed and expected, and I’m very pleased with it. If you are looking for a similar machine, read and watch plenty of reviews. Know that these things do make a little noise when grinding, and expect to do a little maintenance from time to time. Delonghi makes quality equipment, and properly cared for, this machine should have a good service life. I will update this review if anything worth noting should come up.

Such an attractive espresso / coffee powerhouse!

I don’t think I’ve ever opened a package faster than I did with our De’Longhi Magnifica Evo! This machine is a beauty. The instructions to put her together properly were pretty easy, and everything you need (aside from espresso beans and milk), is included. From box to espresso, it probably took me 20 minutes. I LOVE that you can make coffee or espresso drinks, or you can utilize this machine as a hot water source (I’m looking at you, tea). It’s fabulous. Since setting it up yesterday, my husband and I have had at least 6 cups of coffee. It’s absolutely splendid. If you want an easy way to enjoy barista level espresso and coffee, please do yourself a favor and buy this beauty. You will not regret it!

A Game changer for Coffee Lovers

I acquired the coffee machine since few days ago. It has been a literal Game Changer in my morning routine. Previously I had a manual coffee machine from De’longhi. It was tedious but it almost always made a consistently good coffee. Every morning I would take 10 min to do my coffee. Between grinding the beans, warming and frotting the milk, and letting the machine goes to temperature, it was a whole process I started to resent once I also had to take care of a little human being. Now, I start the machine, let it clean itself, plug in the LatteCrema System, and it does its magic! The only thing I regret is not buying it sooner. I tried to do some Ube Latte, and some Almond and Hazelnut milk latte, and it works consistently great with alternative milk or flavored milk. It is a great upgrade for anyone who loves good fresh ground bean coffee without the struggle of making it! Concerning the setup, it took me a good 30 min as you also have to set up the machine depending on the hardness of the water. but the rest was pretty straightforward. So far, I have no complaints and I am utterly satisfied with my new machine.Little note: As it has an automatic cleaning system, you will need a small recipient on the side to catch the water when you start and turn off the machine and when you clean the steam wand for the LatteCrema system. You also have to change some settings if you change the type of beans you are using. You can also use espresso ground coffee using the spoon provided for measurement, but nothing else beats fresh ground coffee though.

My 3rd Delonghi superautomatic, they just keep getting better

Sprung for this as an upgrade to my Delonghi Magnifica I’ve had for like 5 years or so, when Amazon had a $300 price drop around Christmas. The old machine is still working perfectly. The main upgrade is the automatic frother. I found the seemingly slight nuisance of manual frothing resulted in me only rarely making a latte or cappucino. With the automatic frother it’s a lot easier, just fill the little container, press the button and done. Froth is perfect every time so far. Afterward just put the container in the fridge for the next time, top it off when needed. There’s a clean button to hit after making a milk drink, it just pumps a little hot water through the system to flush out the milk, just takes a few seconds. The container comes apart into 3 pieces that can go in the dishwasher, though I haven’t done that yet.

    Great machine for the price!

Amazing, easy, efficient, fast and delicious espresso. I have had a few Delonghi automatic coffee machines over the years and although my other Magnifica still woked great after 7 years, I decided to get a new, more compact and updated verison of the same machine. It was a great chioce and decision, and the price was about half of what I paid for the older Magnifica.

Best way to love yourself 🙂

I had decided I was tired of going to coffee shops, spending a ton of money and creating more garbage/plastic in the world. I am so grateful I got this machine as I literally do not purchase any coffee outside of my home (unless traveling). I have found my perfect cup for me is 2 x espresso and 1 latte macchiato makes me a perfect cup. And as far as tea goes, it brews a very delicious cup of tea. You can also adjust the water by pressing it a second time (as first time makes about 4 ounces of tea) and when you have your cup filled to your liking, you press the water button again and it will stop the water flow. The temperature of the water is so critical in making an excellent cup of tea, and this machine accomplishes this beautifully. I do wish I had the option to only steam milk to make a London fog latte ( but I also haven’t really done a lot of research to see if I can accomplish this- to be fair).

    So Worth It

After a trip to Italy, I couldn’t come back & return to my previous coffee routine -lol. I didn’t have the time nor the cash flow to hit the pricey coffee shop every day & multiple times a day. This was a bit pricey for me but I decided to go for it. I knew nothing about making coffee above dropping a coffee pod in the machine & hitting the on button. This machine is intuitive enough even I can do it. I do invest in quality beans. Not wasting the machine on low quality beans. The machine makes a yummy coffee with a nice crema. For alot of people like me, this machine is an extravagant splurge. Over time, it’s cheaper than the coffee house. Also, I don’t always want to go out in bad weather, stand in line and overpay for coffee. This is my splurge to myself for how hard I work. No regrets!

    I’ve become my family barista!

The De’Longhi Magnifica Evo is an all-in-one brewing station that aims to bring coffee shop style drinks to your kitchen at a more affordable price than many of its competitors. My favorite feature of this machine is the milk container. It’s designed with convenience in mind. You can fill the container at any time and even leave it in your fridge. When you’re ready to make drinks, just attach it to the machine. After making drinks, the De’Longhi will prompt you to run a clean cycle, which you can do with milk still in the container! The wand is steam cleaned and never touches the milk inside. Then you can disconnect the container and put it back in the fridge. No wasted milk! The only downside is that making a large basic cup of coffee isn’t as easy as the other drinks because of the way the machine is designed to make espresso type drinks. One is limited to a smaller cup of regular coffee, so it’s not ideal for filling a travel mug on your way out the door. However, all things considered, this machine does all the drinks listed in the menu system very well, including the smaller cup of coffee. Another thing to note is that although it mentions iced coffee, it still brews the coffee hot, and you add it over your own ice. Other machines can make colder brews, but this isn’t one of them. Another feature I appreciate is the simplicity. It’s a one-button push system, with no profiles for different drinks. They even added a hot water option for tea. This is a big plus for tea drinkers like me who enjoy a strong cup of black tea. The machine makes the water hot enough to brew tea nicely. Most all-in-one systems don’t bother with tea, so it’s great that they included it. Overall, it’s an outstanding machine that will appeal to coffee drinkers who want coffee shop style drinks with simplicity in making them. I was really impressed by how professional this machine made my drinks. I am happy to save money instead of going to the coffee shop every morning.

    works great

Was nervous about spending the money on something which seemed to get mostly positive but some really negative reviews as well. Had it for a few weeks now and am totally impressed. No issues, great coffee, cappuccino, latte. I know some people say they had issues with cleanup or spilling etc – but so far at least it’s been great. Yes you have to dump the pucks out every few days, and yes when you turn it off it does a quick clean/draining, but as others have said – just keep a sacrificial cup nearby and let it drain in, dump it out and off you go. Been very happy with it..

I am thrilled to finally have this machine. It makes delicious fresh coffee and milk based drinks. You will see in my video that I add my favorite creamer before my latte brews. I like mine a little sweet, and that’s what works for me. I have bought some organic syrups and can’t wait to try those, too. It has been so much fun and a delicious experience getting to know my machine.I will try to keep my review list short and simple:Pros:*Makes a delicious coffee beverage (haven’t tried iced coffee yet, but I’m certain it won’t disappoint*Reminds you to clean the milk spout with a touch of a button when finished making your milk based drinks, as you will see in my video*Automatically does a quick rinse of the coffee/water spout when turned on or off, as you will see in my video (always keep a small cup there to catch the water)*Allows to reconfigure settings to your preference and memorizes the settings you chose – I.e. more water, less foam, etc. (you can find videos on how to change settings – super easy)*Has a decent sized water tank that provides multiple drinks before filling up again*VERY easy to learn and start making coffee right out of the box (just be sure to follow initial cleaning steps first)*Accommodates whole beans and ground coffee (be sure to read how to do ground coffee, as the machine is supposed to be on, can’t go over a certain amount at a time, etc. – easy to grasp but I want you to get it right)*Alerts when it’s time to refill water tank or remove coffee grounds from its disposal tank.*Very quick process and well worth the drink – it’s definitely a treat for my husband and me.*Has a hot water feature for teas, oatmeal, etc. You pick how much you need (no preset for that, I don’t think). Just be sure to have the hot water spout attached (original spout that you remove to attach the milk container for milk based drinks)*Very hot temperature, which I love. Just be aware and careful when you first brew and take that first sip. Temperature can be adjusted – just watch a YouTube video or read the manual to learn how.Cons:*Ive only found one, and I could be mistaken. But I don’t recall getting an alert when my beans needed refilled. I am new to ground beans and maybe it expects we know how many we should use. I don’t yet know, so I put enough beans in to cover the base. However, I could tell it was out during one of my drinks because I didn’t hear a strong grind. The drink was not good. Not a big deal, but it’s worth calling out if you’re wondering or like me and a newbie to whole beans. We will get it down!I love this machine, and I am so thankful it was on a deal. We splurged and got it for Christmas for us. My advice – don’t wait another morning without this machine. You deserve this; You won’t be disappointed.

My Favorite New Coffee Shop? My Kitchen!

I went through the quick-start instructions in the booklet when I unboxed the beautiful De’Longhi today. It was so easy to get from box to full-on coffee shop, I was making my first cappuccino in minutes. It was gorgeous and delicious. The foam was light and silky and lasted through to the last drop. I used a clear glass mug that you can see in my picture. I mean, it’s about flavor and savor, but it also is just so pretty to look at with all that foam. The machine is elegant and streamlined, so it looks great and doesn’t take up a lot of counter space. In fact, my husband and I are discussing how many of our old coffee makers this one replaces! It does so many things. We don’t need our tea kettle. We don’t need our futzy little espresso maker that took forever to produce a cup of coffee and the foam had to be produced separately while our coffee got cold. I can’t get over that I can wake up in the morning tomorrow and push the picture of the coffee drink I want and have a truly European and delicious start to my day. Just wow.

    works great, fast, compact

For several years I used another super-automatic coffee maker (more expensive one), which started to flake out (to be fair, it got a ton of use during covid years). So I got this De’Longhi and love it: it holds plenty of water and beans, I can refill beans while it’s working, water refill is very easy, controls are simple and functional (yet programmable — see manual).

    Ablolutely love it!

When I visit my sister, who lives out of state, she always makes me a cappuccino in the morning. She has a manual espresso machine and frother. The quality of the cup this De’Longhi machine makes is equal to or better than the manual machine’s result. Recently, we were visiting friends in Portugal and they had this machine and made us coffee with it every morning. We fell in love with it and decided to buy one when we got home. We love the variety of choices you have. One of our favorite options this machine has is the separate hopper for a measured amount of already ground coffee. This is great for making a cup of decaf espresso at night. The frothed milk is always perfect and it’s self-cleaning process is great! Buy it! You’ll love it!

Wow! This coffee machine is top notch. Everything is automatic with a single touch. Holds the coffee beans, grinds them and makes a perfect cup of coffee. If you want to use ground coffee, it will do that also!So happy with this classy coffee machine, looks great in my kitchen.

Easy to use and makes great coffee

Had this almost 2 months and still pleased with it. Mostly just make black coffee, but have made a few lattes. Really easy to use and makes good coffee. Clean up is easy, even with the milk drinks. Customization could be a little easier, but just takes following the instructions. Agree with a few other folks, the water clean out thing when you turn it on is a little annoying. Overall though, I would say I have gone from, was this something I didn’t really need, to really enjoying the quick, easy coffee, with simple cleanup. Very happy with the purchase.

    Amazing!

I cannot believe how delicious this machine makes the coffees. My husband and I love lattes and it makes them perfectly. The froth is creamy and smooth. I love the fact that it grinds the beans and has different settings available. It does not take long AT ALL to make the coffee even with grinding involved. I also love that it does a rinse on the milk nozzle after every use. I researched and found one way to froth milk only, since my kids love hot chocolate. You select pre-ground option, it is next to the 3 coffee bean buttons. Then push My Latte, the milk will be dispensed. Push My Latte again to stop the milk dispensing when you are either about to finish it or want to stop it. That’s it! After you press My Latte the second time (to stop it) you stop the whole process, which means your pre-ground never gets activated. The hot chocolates came out AMAZING, wayyy better than the ones I’ve tried at restaurants. Nice frothy hot chocolate. I cannot believe how great everything is about this machine. Definitely no more Starbucks or Dunkin coffee. Hope you found this helpful.

    Wife LOVES this

Gave this to my wife as a present. She loves it. Gets back from business trips and can’t wait to have her “fancy” coffees. It does go through a lot of water, so you have to fill it often. It also wants us to descale a lot. The self cleaning works really well. A no hassle way to enjoy great coffeehouse coffee at home.

    Making good coffee

The coffee machine exceed my expectation. Tried to make cappuccino, latte, regular coffee and coffee over ice, all of them taste good. Milk frosted fluffy and warm, very quiet even when grind the coffee beans. The machine will clean itself every time after use, so ensure you have another cup to catch the water. Also I have the option to choose how strong the coffee I want.Con: 1. a bit confusing to use in the beginning. You have the option to use either coffee beans or ground coffee. You should make the selection first (whether u want to use the bean or ground coffee) then put the ground coffee in. Otherwise, those ground coffee will fall to the bottom tray. No such issue with beans. 2. Coffee portion is really small, like the portion of an espresso shot, even when you try to make regular coffee.Overall good value for money, will enjoy coffee at home more than ever.

    I love this espresso machine

This is my first fully automatic espresso machine and I love it. It has good controls for both the coarseness of grind and the amount of grounds to use. It’s phenomenally easy to use – push one button to turn on, wait about 30 seconds to warm up, push another 1 button for espresso.I’ve used it every day I’ve been home for 6 months and have no complaints.I have a daughter who worked for a time as a barista and she also prefers this one over our previous machine that required manual measuring and tamping of beans.

It works, and easy to use

Best to look for videos on setup. The instructions are not well written for start-up and basic use. The instructions appear extensive, but there are points of departure between the directions and practical application.Have been using the Evo for about three months and it has worked perfectly. You need to constantly maintain and clean it, but that needs to be understood and expected for any coffee machine. While it’s simple to use, it takes that effort to use it.The quality of coffee is good, but it’s not at the same level as high end manual coffee presses. However, if you are looking for an automatic machine that operates flawlessly (at least for 3 months) and makes good espresso and many other coffee drinks, this is a good choice.

    Froths the milk perfectly

I bought this coffee machine because I love a good latte, especially with oat milk. This machine froths the milk perfectly and brews coffee to everyone’s taste with three strength options. It makes an incredible latte! Plus, if you don’t use all the milk, you can easily store the milk container in the fridge. I highly recommend getting De’Longhi glasses to go with it.

    Good Time To Purchase

I’ve been a DeLonghi user for over 5 years. This model is a good value. They have improved the espresso machine model by making it simpler to use plus it is quieter than my earlier ECAM model. The footprint is a little smaller which makes it nice on the counetop! I would recommend that you purchase the 4 year extended warranty because I have never owned an espresso machine that didn’t begin to have problems around the 2 1/2 year time frame. My last DeLonghi machine started having issues at year 3. The company does a nice job of fixing the issues and only keeping you without a machine for for about 6 or 7 dyas.

    Great so far

After a year of research, I finally bought this model. NOTE: I am NOT a coffee snob or a connoisseur of coffee to any degree. However, I use this machine every day and am pleased with the product. It is as good as any Starbucks drink. The milk froth is really good IMO. The machine cleans itself before and after each use. Drinks take less than 1 min. Nice user interface. No issues so far. I will update if product malfunctions or breaks as I am a true skeptic of everything …Addendum after just about 2 months of ownership.I have not returned to Starbucks since my receipt. This machine makes a great cappuccino. Extraction is great (note that I am an amateur coffee connoisseur).Machine is really good. Very clean. Read the manual carefully. There are some instructions that are not intuitive.

1 year later and we still love the Magnifica!

12 month update: We still absolutely love the De’Longhi Magnifica. No issues whatsoever. Guests all rave about how simple the machine is to use, no one needs to clean a portafilter, and drinks taste wonderful. Price has dropped over the past year, it’s totally worth it!3 Month Update: Still loving the De’Longhi Magnifica. Zero issues using it. It’s fast, straightforward, and worth every penny. Here’s my coffee journey through many, many years: Mr. Coffee –>mini-espresso–>French Press–>pour over—>Keurig–>Breville–>De’Longhi.I LOVE this De’Longhi Magnifica! If I had to narrow it down to one reason, it’s that I do not have to wash a portafilter each time I make espresso! Honesty, this is worth every penny. We make 2-6 espressos or coffee nearly every day and some days I would just skip the drink if I have to wash everything again. Not only does this Magnifica deal with the portafilter for me, I can make a plain cup of coffee, tea, or use other grounds to make any drink. You can make espresso drinks (hot/cold), coffee, tea, froth milk. So many options in one machine with very little clean up.At first I was a bit overwhelmed with the buttons, but a little practice and it was a cinch! The espresso taste great and the options are outstanding. One complaint (which is really minor): the water reservoir is small and must be added to often (lack of water can disrupt a pour). Every night, after my tea, I fill the water reservoir and the beans to be ready for the morning. I dump the grounds every 3-5 days (the machine will notify you) and wash everything that needs it.When you turn on and off the machine, it will run a quick clean cycle. Place a small glass or pitcher underneath and then the tray won’t fill up as quickly. My first espresso machine was the Breville, which I have loved for years. I’ve retired it for this one and I love the Magnifica!*This machine does not come with a milk pitcher.**The first machine we got had an issue with the steam/water. Anytime we used the steam/water, the machine would freeze for 20-30 minutes! I requested a replacement and that issue did not come up with our new machine.Review for De’Longhi ECAM29043SB Magnifica Evo Coffee and Espresso Machine, Silver

    Exceeded expectations BIG TIME!

Let me say that this De’Longhi Magnifica is GREAT! Been using it for several weeks and no issues. Prior to saving half of my money on a Jura coffee maker I returned, this has been the best buy for this type of coffee maker. Grinds beans the way you like, heats coffee far more then others “Adjustable” too, and a large water storage, large bean disposal container, hot water dispenser which is great for tea. I love the auto turn off after non use for two hours. Also has a frother… I can’t comment on because I like my portable frother so that’s just something I don’t really need. For the price this is better then coffee machines that cost much, much, more. I love this machine, and it’s a breeze to set up, I also felt the 3 yr warranty was reasonable and purchased that too. So I’m guaranteed great coffee for 3 yrs if not more. In closing YOU WILL LOVE THIS BRAND. If I had one complaint I couldn’t think of one except regretting getting the Jura. Your paying for the name in my opinion and soon De’Longhi Magnifica with be #1 in coffee makers. Enjoy my coffee loving friends.

    Excellent entry level automated machine

The media could not be loaded.

I can tell the difference between a mediocre and quality shot of espresso, but knowing how easy it is to spend a lot on high end machines I got this at the edge of my budget. I went into this purchase only wanting drinks at home that are good enough to avoid cafes and a time consuming manual espresso workflow. This has been making 1-5 drinks a day for multiple people over the last few months and it’s been incredible every time. The coffee flavor is on par with the best manual shots I’ve made, and it’s made my one cup pour over machine and aero press collect dust because of how well the normal and iced coffee features work.I’ve tried many local coffee roasts, grind settings (make sure you dial this in when you try new beans) and flavor syrups for the milk frother to change up my coffee routine, and it’s amazing how much flavor can variate with this and how it stops your morning coffee from stagnating!I’ve heard people complain about clogs, so I clean the collector, runoff tray and milk frother every time I use it and the infuser once a week without any issues at all so far. I also pre-filter my water and haven’t had any scaling issues, but I will say the descaling procedure can be a little confusing the first time around so double check the instructions. The only downside I can find with this machine is the grinder being a little imprecise and loud, with the lower settings clogging the infuser. All in all I highly recommend this unit if you have the counter space and the budget for both the machine and the more expensive beans you’ll want to be using with it. It’s been a game changer for me.

After a trip to Europe, we wanted long coffee every day. This machine, though expensive, is really good! I like the ease of dumping in the beans, the auto self cleaning mechanism, and ease of dumping used grounds. The coffee tastes great, we are still playing with the settings. First Time Having An Espresso Maker

I bout this for my wife for Christmas and the fact that I am writing this before Christmas means she didn’t wait to open it. I bought it for her as she has been working long hours recently and she was super excited for this. She says that its been really helping her get through her long shifts at work. It definitely took her a bit to get it all set up and ready to go. But now that it is, it is super easy to use! I would recommend looking up videos on how get a good blend going to get a good smooth taste. I have even used it and I really like it! Keep in mind that I am not a coffee person let alone a expresso person but I am for sure using it more than I thought I would be!

Not as complicated as it looks

Due to an excellent full-color getting started guide, I found setup to be incredibly easy for this espresso machine, despite feeling overwhelmed at first. It’s so easy to operate, too, and the pictures on the machine are fabulous as a reference and for guests to use. After an initial 4 espresso runs, which you’re instructed to dump (much less than other espresso machines I’ve dealt with), the machine is primed and ready to go. Each coffee and espresso drink is ground to order (though you can use preground coffee, too), and even your milk will be steamed and frothed. The flavor of the espresso is rich and creamy, strong, but not bitter. It really makes great drinks, coffee included. One machine really can do it all.

So much quieter than my last DeLongi. It turns off after making coffee without staying on for hours. This saves electricity costs. It makes so many types of drinks with very little effort. It is sleek and well made. It will take some learning on how to raise temperature but there are enough videos on YouTube, it wont be a problem. The taste of the coffee is spectacular. The capacity is good. It turns on quickly and this machine is very well made.

Makes great lattes and cappuccinos hot water for tea

Not only does it make great lattes and cappuccinos but it also makes great foam and if you just add a little bit of syrup to the milk it even enhances the taste by whatever flavor you want it also makes a great cup of coffee either ground or with whole bean the settings let you set exactly the way you like it as far as temperature and strength I found that what worked best was the factory defaults wife like that the most because she could run it without having to be a computer scientistIf you keep getting an error because you filled the milk up to the top and it keeps giving you an error it’s because the milk container is tipping just a little bit I’ve taken a picture and what you need to do is just get one of these little rubber bumpers that stick just above the sensor and it will fix the problem I hope this helps somebody else

Wow, what a difference I’m actually drinking coffee now, didn’t know what I was missing. The De”Longhi Magnifica Evo is very easy to operate. Just start with the coffee beans which you can grind to your like then you are off and running. I made regular coffee first and can’t wait to experiment with all the possibilities. I’ll keep you posted as I do. Now I know the difference between a latte and a cappuccino before then I thought coffee was coffee! The one-touch My Latte feature is my go-to button! I was a little intimidated and hesitant after reading the instructions but once I got started it was simple your like Oh, okay! I was asked a question about long coffee, so I made some wow what a kick!, I’ll stick to my latte. The De’Longhi Magnifica Evo is very easy to clean so don’t worry about bean build-up, just pull open the front drawer and dump! Have a De’Longhi Eletta at one house and purchased the Magnifica Evo for the second house. Had the original Magnifica years ago and gave it to a family member. Like the new smaller milk container and how it connects. Updated design without o-rings will make cleaning and servicing much easier. Easy to configure specific quantities and intensity of beverages. Our Eletta has produced over 6,000 beverages and works as great now as it did day one. Expecting the same from the Magnifica. Important to follow descaling and general cleaning practices to ensure flawless operation.

Best Automatic Espresso Machine I’ve Owned!!!

Ok, that’ll probably sounds like a click-grabber since it’s the first that I’ve actually owned. But it’s not the first I’ve used and it seems on par with much more expensive machines I’ve frequently used (and drooled over).Set-up was easy and after doing the initial pump-priming I was ready for my first espresso. After the recommended 1st couple of runs I was ready for my first espresso to drink. It took a few tries to get the balance of grind level/coffee strength to where I wanted it (which was expected) but the pulls are pretty consistently where I want them now. My moment of fear was when I chocked it by making the grinds too fine while I had the strength up to max. I calmed down and figured this out after I looked at the troubleshooting to find what the angry little lights meant and dialed back the grind settings and all was fine. Lesson learned: Don’t turn the grind setting wheel too much at a time. Baby steps. My expectation is that if I change the type of beans I’m using I’ll probably have to tweak it, but again that’s expected. Those few times when I want a latte or cappuccino the LatteCrema system is a nice alternative to the more time consuming manual process. I got that option mostly for my wife so she could easily make her own cappuccinos and that alone was worth the price of the option. Fat free milk seems to work best for a thicker foam. Higher fat seems to = bigger bubbles. As others have commented the water container could have been larger. The rinsing cycles will help you go through a lot of water but I appreciate the rinsing to keep all the ‘pipes’ clean. The LatteCrema system also does it’s own rinse cycle which will contribute to the water usage as well. But overall a very small issue and it’s easy enough to refill it. Might be nice if they did an ‘extended’ tank that extends out from the side, but I doubt that we’ll see that.Time will tell on durability. I’m sure taking care of the machine correctly will be a factor in that. As in any automatic device they’re more complicated with many moving parts. Your typical coffee machine has a lot less break points and moving parts than an automated one. As a result it will be important to follow the maintenance directions to keep it running and in tip-top shape.UPDATE: 3 months in and I’m still very happy with the machine, no issues. I’ve been cleaning it monthly and it’s pretty easy. Been putting a new filter in monthly. Personally I’ve found I like the medium espresso roasts with an Arabica/Robusta blend. So far we’ve been using Lavazza beans exclusively because the quality/freshness has been good as has the price point. In three months we’ve gone thru about 6 KG (13 LB) of beans so I guess we’re drinking a fair bit of espresso?

    Coffee like no other

In early 2012 we bought a DeLonghi Magnifica at a specialty shop for what seemed like a ridiculously exorbitant price at the time. Little did we know how our coffee tastes would change because of that machine. On June 27, 2024 our beloved Magnifica died. I know people who have had less mourning at their passing than that coffee maker. It was such a hard working appliance! I calculate that with the tons of company we hosted, breakfast every morning, brunches, afternoon and evening coffee, it made close to 40,000 cups of coffee over 12.5 years – every one as good as the last. I cleaned it regularly and was obsessive about descaling, but honestly, it was just that well built. So when it came time to replace it, we knew what we wanted. It had to be a DeLonghi. Our replacement machine came today, after a week of suffering through Keurig pods (no offense to Keurig) and already I’m such a happy camper (see cup in my photo). The coffee is just as delicious, operating it is so easy and familiar, and we can only hope we won’t need to replace it until 2036. So happy.

    So far so good!

We went to Europe and came back on the hunt for better coffee. We did a lot of research and read a LOT of Amazon reviews and based on those landed on this machine. It does make a little noise when you are using it or it’s cleaning itself, but it’s not that bad and is just for a few seconds. We are latte and cappuccino drinkers and those are delicious. My husband who wasn’t completely sold on this purchase is the happiest one. He loves the coffee and feels like we are drinking coffee shop quality at home. Is it a splurge, yes, is it one I regret, absolutely not. So far it’s been worth every dollar.

I love that I purchased this!

I researched and waited patiently until I was ready to make a decision. I really wanted an automatic machine and finally decided on this one. I am so glad that I did. It makes every drink (and more) that I could want at a coffee shop, but the quality of each drink is perfection! Even a simple coffee is better then my well loved drip machine.I took my time getting acquainted with the machine over the course of a day or two, watching videos and reading the directions. Once I had a few minutes to focus on it, it was very straightforward to get going. I had no issues at all and after a few days feel like a pro.I have nothing but positives at this point. I use it daily and am so glad I purchased. The quality is great, the clean up is easy, the temp for me is perfect (I programmed it too the hottest setting). I would purchase again as a gift or for myself in a heartbeat.

In 6 months it’s paid for itself plus $300. It’s all automated except up eventually have to fill the water tank and empty out the used coffee pucks. Wish I had bought this many years ago!

    Be your own Barista!

The media could not be loaded.

I have always wanted to be able to make a coffee shop quality drink without the coffee shop price. This De’Longhi Magnifica Evo LatteCrema System does just that. I can make my favorite coffee shop drinks from the comfort of my home. The whole coffee maker is beautifully designed, it is an eye catching centerpiece to the kitchen now! The water tank and the coffee catcher on the insides are hidden but also easy to remove for filling and cleaning. The machine is easy to use but takes a little setting up and cleaning prior to the first use. You can easily switch from the milk frother spout to the hot water spout depending on your drink of choice. I really love having a clean spout for hot water to easily switch between tea and coffee. The milk frother works really well with my dairy free milks as well! This machine creates the freshest coffee you could imagine! Freshly grinds your beans immediately before use, this gives a deliciously nutty flavor to any cup of coffee! You can even adjust how course or fine you grind your beans. The milk container has the levels of milk necessary for all of your favorite coffee beverages. From a simple shot of espresso to a latte to a stronger over ice brew you will never need the coffee shop again! The machine is easy to clean and the instructions are thorough and easy to follow. I can’t imagine being happier with a coffee maker; I couldn’t have imagined that I could make a cup of coffee this delicious! Now on to practicing my latte art! De’Longhi out did themself with this coffee maker! I highly recommend it!

The machine makes incredible coffee and milk based drinks.

The maching is simple to use, for more advanced use keep the manual close as some of the buttons have multiple uses when in menu mode. It was dialed in from the onset, no grind changes needed. It’s very easy to clean and maintain. A friend has a popular Jura model, but this machine makes better foam and the drink tastes better. Just buy it. No need to spend more. Most users only make one or two drinks so having a menu of 10+ or something is not needed although this has quiet a few drink options.

Great Coffee machine for home use

Have had two other De’Longhi’ machines (ESAM 3300), and this is the best one yet. I love the smaller footprint, and the quality of the coffee is great. It is easier to use than the ESAM, and doesn’t get as dirty. They’ve improved the coffee press and the basket for the pucks, so there is very little coffee ground debris inside the machine.

What a joy waking up with this coffee machine!

As mentioned in the title I really like the De’Longhi Magnifica Evo. The coffee machine is easy to use and almost makes you feel like a barista at home. With all the pre-programmed coffees the machine is easy to use and requires no complicated setup before usage. Even the ‘simpler option’, making hot water for a tea, is really nice to use as before this machine we always heated some water in a pan.Additionally I also really like how easy it is to clean the machine, whereas with other machines this can be a hassle the Magnifica Evo has a built in program that requires minimal manual work. Same goes for the separate milk tank, when you are not using milk for your Latte’s you easily detach the separate milk tank and store it in your fridge. The only ‘issue’ I had with the coffee machine was the setup of the water reservoir, which comes with a cleaning bottle that needs to be filled with water separately and then be attached in the exact right way to not get an error on the machine. However, after watching a video on YT this problem was quickly solved.Overall me and my family are really enjoying this coffee machine and it is a joy to make coffee every morning!

    Chic yet practical

As someone who starts their day with a cup of coffee I absolutely love this machine! The set up was quick and the quick start up guide was easy to read and digest, the machine is VERY easy to use right away. Aesthetically, the machine is compact and very modern in look and functionality. Now onto the reason why are all here – the brew. I use whole beans and was able to fit a standard bag of coffee in the chamber. You can adjust the coarseness of your grounds for those that enjoy the whole bean experience. There is also a spout to put in pre-ground coffee if that is your preference The Magnifica has several preset options so one press of a button and you get a delicious creamy espresso. The adjustable spout is a great touch and let me make both a cup of regular joe and a gorgeous single shot of espresso. There is also the option to steam milk or run hot water for standalone drinks. I actually used the milk steamer for my oat milk cappuccino and it worked great adding a nice velvet texture. All in all I highly recommend this machine for those that want to a quick and easy cup of delicious coffee as well as those who want to have more choices for their morning beverage.

    An awesome machine!

There are so many high-end coffee machines; I read so many different review sources and so many end-user experience posts, and I decided to go with De’Longhi Magnifica Evo because of its superior build quality. This was the right decision for me – this machine will last forever – the quality is amazing – it’s a Ferarri among coffee machines.More important – I am becoming a pro Barista and love every cup as we explore new beans!

My favorite coffee at the press of a button

I just got this yesterday, took 20 min read the instructions. Followed the easy cleaning steps with pictures lol. I’ve made 9 different coffees so far. My family all love it, my daughter said the coffee house down the street has just been replaced! So good, fresh and just the way I want it with no expensive disappointments! Girls you know, as soon as you see your barista hand you your coffee you can tell if it’s right by the color and dang it when you know it’s wrong because you just paid $7+ for something you’ll choke down or trash, right? Well no more! This right here is stopping all of that! I read comments on here, it does clean before and after, I just keep a coffee cup near it, put it under the spout when I start it and but it back under when I’m done and boom! trust me, I’m happy that it does it. I don’t want to take it apart after every coffee! Super excited about this machine! Glad I finally just said no more to disappointing coffee! Can’t wait to see what I create tomorrow! Need to learn coffee art lol

    Best coffee machine ever

1 year review. I bought this on sale for $500 1year 2month ago, being tired of paying $150 a month for Nespresso pods. This machine makes the best coffee ever, better than Nespresso for fraction of the monthly cost, without having to deal with the pods. This machine, as expensive as it is, paid for it self in less than 5 months coming from Nespresso. This machine is working the way it was new, a year and 2 months ago. With that being said, it does sometimes not turn on, and I have to unplug, plug back in to reset it. Also the frother/steamer, it might be that I suck at it but I cant get it to function well. If that is an important aspect of a coffee machine, you should definitely do some research on this before you spend premium price for this machine.Overall, I gladly this 5 stars as its by far the best coffee machine that I have ever owned, and because its still providing me with the best coffee ever every morning without failure.

Worth the money! I am so glad to be rid of the kcup thing we had. This machine makes morning coffee so good! Now I wish I had gotten the upgraded model that connects via Bluetooth and you use an app to start your coffee before you even get out of bed! Well, that’s gonna be a purchase for later on. This was expensive, but worth it…

    Love my coffee machine

I have now had the espresso machine for a few weeks now and love it. It takes some time to fully understand the machine. But once that is accomplished it makes a wonderful cup of coffee or cappuccino which is my two favorites. I like that you can use ground coffee for just a cup of coffee and beans for others.

    Excellent Quality

The machine is very easy to set up. The instructions are easy to understand and follow, so I had no issues during set up. The water tank is located on the side and pulls out conveniently the front and you can add an optional water filter to it. You have an option of using whole or ground coffee beans. Once I finished setting it up, I thoroughly tested and tasted each type of preprogrammed coffee drinks and it came out perfect each time. The only issue is it’s a bit too noisy when grinding the coffee but at least it’s a fresh cup of coffee each time and you can adjust the temperature and coarseness of the beans to your likeness. All parts of the machine are easy to take apart and wash. If you want professional barista quality coffee drinks at home this machine is a worthy purchase!

    Great machine

I have wanted a machine like this for a long time, but couldn’t afford it until now. I love the features of grinding the coffee according to my liking. It makes cappuccino or macchiato, espresso, regular coffee, my own concoction or plain hot water for tea. I can determine the strength of the coffee by pushing the right button, and I love the fact that I can make my individual cup of coffee without using plastic pods.

    I love this machine!

I’m a huge espresso lover and I have to admit that this beauty makes one of the bests cappuccinos and lattes that I ever had. I was a little skeptical, but after watching a bunch of YouTube videos I decided to give it a try. I’m in love with the machine. My previous machine was a Breville Barista Express and even though it’s a great machine, this one makes everything better with just the push of a button. The only “negative” is that it takes a little bit to setup initially. But if you watch and follow the videos, you should be fine.

    Delicious Coffee…Easy and Fun

Where to start? There are so many good things about the DeLonghi Magnifica Evo coffee maker. This is a sleek looking machine that I am happy to have on my kitchen counter. It is super easy to use and is intuitive. It offers a large water reservoir, cutting down on the number of times one has to refill. The Magnifica Evo can be used with either whole beans or ground coffee, making it one of the most versatile coffee makers on the market. the adjustable brew head can accommodate a variety of large or small cups, making it easy to pull a single shot of espresso, or a larger mug of coffee. It also holds a considerable amount of beans, and is quiet when grinding. This machine also does a pre and post rinse of the brew head, making sure it’s clean and free of any residue. This feature ensures a fresh cup with every pull. The Evo has a LatteCrema system which consists of a milk container and frother. One can add dairy or plan based milk, and make a latte or cappuccino with a single touch. Again, the milk container is easy to use, and can be popped out of the machine and placed in the refrigerator if there is milk left over. There is also a self cleaning function that shoots hot water through the spout, ensuring there is no milk left in the spout to turn sour. The brewing cycle is short, there is pretty much no wait time. One of the best features, it truly is a one-touch system, offering a number of different drinks in an instant. The coffee drinks are smooth and creamy, brewing a really mellow cup without any bitter or acidic notes. The Magnifica Evo is a keeper, a sleek machine that makes a great tasting coffee of my choice, all at the push of a button.

This my third Delonghi I have owned.

The media could not be loaded.

I love Delonghi machines. They have so many, each with different features. I went with the newer EVO model with the milk craft container.I wanted to learn more about frothing and thought hard of getting the one without the milk container.I’m very glad I picked the EVO with the milk container. I made a few milk drinks and the brother worked very well. All had to do was push the start button and watch. I changed to a different milk drink, and that one was perfect too.In the next few days, I will make small changes to the set up for each drink. Mostly involving quality of the drink to match my cups. I did lower the water temp down to medium. All this is easy to and clearly outlined in the manuals.I am extremely happy with this EVO! it looks great, quieter than my older one, and makes different drinks with a single button. This machine is well worth every penny!!! Easy to learn and use and a great investment to have.

    Tastes like Italy!

Each time we travel to Europe, we come back to the USA and long for a cup of coffee like we just had on vacation. We finally decided to invest in an espresso machine to quench that thirst for strong, rich, flavorful coffee and bought this De”long Magnifica Evo Espresso machine. The automatic bean grinder saves the day each morning and it grinds them to your desired level – there are 13 grinding levels to experiment with! We love how quick and simple it is to use with a high quality cup of coffee as the result each day. We also like it’s narrower/smaller in size compared to other machines we looked at, saving room on our counter. The pod compartment holds several days’ worth of used pods in it, so it does not need to be emptied/cleaned every single day if you are in a hurry in the morning. One more thing: our friends visited for a week and ordered this same machine for their home – it was delivered as they arrived home from the airport. Molto bene!

Product delivers – no downsides for those who want to spend time enjoying not making.

I’ve owned a few days over two months. and product delivers hot (not scalding) drinks made to excellent standards. For the best results use the best beans, water, double walled glasses. Truly fully automatic. Not complicated but follow directions carefully. Downsides: not a lot of experimentation allowed. Yes you can program a double – but it’s easier to just drop in a second shot of expresso.. Also, Use coldest & freshest 2% milk (or preferred substitute) in creamer and don’t store overnight in creamer supply container. Use best supplies and clean/descale etc on schedule or ahead of schedule. If warning indicator comes on – First check water and bean supply, and be sure creamer/foamer is attached firmly. Great product so far.

    So far so good

So my prior super-auto espresso maker was a Jura, but it had started to wear out. Service requires an act of God practically. Thus, the DeLonghi, which is half the price and so far working just fine. Initial set up was a little more work than a Jura (read directions!!), but once up and running am getting perfectly fine espresso and cappuccino. Awesome? No. But for blended drinks like a latte, perfectly adequate. Purists will go for the manual machines, but making a great shot is as much art as science with those things (and my art skills suck). Super auto machines are mostly idiot proof and provide decent consistency.Only had this a week, will update if issues or problems. So far, easier to clean than my Jura was. For now, good value, recommend.

    I finally got my own!

I have used this automatic coffee machine many times at the house of my friend in Ireland, who has had it since 2017, and I always liked it a lot. So I looked at it when health benefits were claimed for drinking coffee in the morning. But pay $500 for a coffee machine? Are you crazy?? So I e-mailed my friend for advice. She wrote back in English:”It looks like my coffee machine. I’ll ask Jane Doe the number, she bought the same as mine, after tasting my coffee.”and in Dutch (we use both):”Hij is wat prijzig, dat doet pijn bij aanschaf, maar je hebt altijd heerlijke koffie! En de prijs vergeet je al na een maand.”which roughly translates to”It is a bit expensive, which hurts when you buy it, but you always have great coffee! And you will forget about the cost after a month or so.”So I ordered the machine, and I have not regretted it at all. It is so convenient to just press a button to get great coffee. My handyman loves it too; the first thing he does whenever he comes in is make a cup of coffee. One warning: read the manual! Do not try to wing it; you could damage the machine if you do it wrong. It is a complex machine. I am not at all surprised that there are relatively many one-star reviews. You may also take a hint from the length of this review. :)For example, while the machine is really intended for whole-bean coffee, when I first got it I wanted to finish off my remaining ground coffee. I had seen in the instructions that the machine provides a special duct for ground coffee (which presumably bypasses the burr grinder), and I threw the allowed maximum scoop of ground coffee in that duct. However, I had missed/forgotten that you need to *activate* (with the front top-left button) the machine before throwing the scoop in. As a result, the coffee fell right through the machine, to places where it should not be, and the machine refused to make coffee, saying it had no ground coffee to do so. Since the manual says the stray coffee might damage the machine, I had to carefully remove it all, with help of the provided long brush.Conversely, you may want to make sure that the machine is *de*activated when adding whole-bean coffee, because you would certainly not want whole beans to bypass the burr grinder and go on to the brewing process unground. Now the ground-coffee duct has a cover to prevent whole beans to enter, but any whole beans, or slivers of whole beans, that manage to get in anyway better fall through the machine than proceed to the brewing apparatus unground.Which reminds me, there is one very confusing thing all over the manual. The machine has a *power* on/off button at the rear, which is practically equivalent to plugging the machine in, or pulling the plug out again. The machine also has an *activation/deactivation* button at the front top-left which tells the powered-on machine to get ready for doing something, or to deactivate itself again. The manual refers to using either button as “turning the machine on/off” although they do completely different things. That is likely to cause problems.Indeed, apparently Jane, in trying to clean the “infuser” (see in the manual what that is), took the instruction of the manual to “turn the machine off” to be to “turn off the power switch” (or pull the plug). That was done, but without first deactivating the machine. Now there was a big problem: the infuser to be cleaned had disappeared! An extensive search was initiated by Jane and my friend, but the infuser could not be found *anywhere*. So a new infuser was ordered from DeLonghi, but when it was attempted to install it, the old infuser had reappeared?! This thing would not have happened if the manual had clearly said “de-activate the machine, then pull the plug” instead of “turn off the machine”.Another one from my friend, translated from the Dutch: “If you do not clean the infuser regularly, it can become stuck. That is scary, but once taken out of the machine, you can just clean it carefully.”Fortunately, the machine is not intuitive at all for guests who have not read the manual. At my friend in the past, if pressing the button did not produce my desired double espresso but instead a mystery display of lights, I just waited for my friend to fix it. I had no clue. But to be safe, if you have guests that are early risers, during the preceding evening you may want to make sure that the machine has enough coffee and water in it.To be sure, the coffee bean compartment holds about half a 12 oz pack of coffee beans, which lasts a reasonable time and may be OK.But the water compartment runs out very quickly. The machine is quite liberal in using water. And if the water runs out while brewing, you might get only half your cup of coffee. The water compartment is transparent, so you can see the level, and refilling water is trivial. (But there might be other issues. At my friend, the water of the kitchen sink is drinkable, but that of the bathroom sink is not. I tend to forget that. And at my own place, I throw “Zero-Water” filtered water in my machine, instead of tap water, to improve taste and prevent scale build up.)As another warning, as you can barely see in the picture, my machine is just below a kitchen cabinet. This makes refilling coffee awkward, scattering stray coffee beans all over the place. So to refill coffee, I pull the machine forward clear of the cabinet. (This also allows me to clean the area where the machine normally sits.) Something to keep in mind when selecting a location for the machine.Note in the picture that the stainless cup (to catch the waste water produced during activation and deactivation) and the black stone cup with stir sticks do not come with the machine, but I think they fit in well with its black and metal. The stainless cup and stir sticks come from Amazon, and the stone cup from a cheap department store.I changed a number of settings in the machine. First, I and my handyman felt that the coffee was not really that strong using the default settings. So I rotated the big knob on the front of the machine from the default vertical setting another 90 degrees towards the maximum (see pic). This should increase the amount of coffee the machine uses. I also increased the grinding fineness just a little bit (which must be done with the coffee grinder already running, so the first cup is not really representative of the result; taste the second cup). We like the results. (But watch it, if you make the blockage too big by using too much, too finely ground coffee, you will apparently clog the machine and the coffee will come out a drop at a time.)Next, I changed the amount of coffee produced by the double americano button to match the size of the cup I use for that. See the manual on how. (Apparently, if you press a button within three second after delivery, it adds more coffee. I must remember to tell my handyman that.)Also, the machine has a counter inside that periodically reminds you to descale the machine by running its automatic descaling routine. But I use Zero Water in my machine, which is essentially purified water that leaves no scale behind at all. So I reduced the frequency of the descaling cycle to the minimum the machine allows, and after over four months, I have not yet been prompted for a descaling. Somewhat of a relief, I hate wasting time and money; the DeLonghi descaler is about $4 a go. (But once in a half year or so would be OK, I guess, to waste $4 and whatever time.)Writing this review reminded me that I had never cleaned the infuser since I got the machine 4 months ago. And the manual says that it must be cleaned at least once a month! So I did it immediately. My friend does it as part of a complete cleaning job whenever the descaling light comes on. But since I changed that setting, I may need to do it more frequently than that.Coffee aficionada generally agree that you want to use water close to boiling for the best coffee. So I increased the brewing temperature to the maximum (minimum is apparently 190 F, maximum 205 F, boiling would be 212 F).But be careful here. I make my morning double espresso in a small carton cup as seen in the picture, and by the time the coffee is in the cup, after some cooling down while going through the spouts and while falling towards the cup, it is still at about 175 F according to my oven thermometer. That is worse than 165 F, which already produces *instant* burns. Now I am not that fond of poached tongue, if it is *my* tongue. And the carton cups are surprisingly insulating (for one, because their bottoms do not touch my cooling quartz countertop, and for another, because the coffee is so low in the cup that evaporation is really reduced). It takes about 5 minutes for the temperature to go down to 150 F, which becomes somewhat drinkable. No big deal for me, because I am cleaning up the breakfast stuff at the same time. But some guest may be unaware of how hot the coffee is. So I used my label printer to put “WARNING”, “coffee comes out too hot to drink” labels on the metal plate of the drip drawer, see picture. My handyman has no problems, as he throws lots of half and half in his double Americano. But it was somewhat of a pain for my own evening double Americano in a stainless insulated cup, even with a bit of Irish accent from the fridge added to the coffee. But on thinking this over while writing this review, I replaced the cup by a stone one. That is much better, the excess heat now goes quickly into the stone of the cup and the coffee is actually already becoming somewhat too cool for me near the end. I may put some cover over the cup to reduce evaporation while I am still drinking it, maybe just a paper towel. When you activate the machine, it blows some hot water through the machine to bring it up to temperature for brewing your coffee. If further unused, the machine will deactivate itself automatically after some time (while blowing some cleaning water through the system). I reduced that time to the minimum of 15 min, to force the machine to reheat itself before making the next cup.Apparently some people have the opposite problem as me: their coffee is too cool. I would bet that is because they brew the coffee into a big heavy stone cup or similar without warming the cup first. (Warming the cup can be done using the hot water or steam from the milk frother.) The “Get Started” guide talks about a “cup warmer shelf”, but I have no clue what that means. It seems to be the metal-covered plate on top of the machine; however this does not do any cup warming as far as I can see. Maybe the guide means the “*warmed cup* shelf” instead. Even so, I would not know how effective this “shelf” is in delaying the cool-down of any warmed cup. The metal would conduct heat away. Using a pot holder to put the cup on seems to make more sense to me.(To be sure, I think the translations of instructions from Italian into English are still better than those from Chinese into English that I have seen. Not unexpectedly.)Neither my handyman nor I use the “milk frother” that can be used to make cappuccino and such. I drink my coffee black, and my handyman just throws in a lot of half and half. But my friend loves cappuccino, so I asked her. She told me that she only uses the frother for hot water, as she will forget to perform the 6 step cleaning procedure of the frother immediately after each use with milk (which includes a minutes long wait for the frother to cool down after flowing hot water through it, among others). So she is afraid that the frother will become unhygienic.Seems reasonable to me. So, in case I get any guest who likes cappuccino or similar, I ordered a couple of battery-powered separate milk frothers from Amazon, one for $10 and another for $2.50 (cheap, but they do not last long). You can simply flush these frothers clean below the faucet. And a couple of cooks informed me that all you have to do for a cappuccino is warm the milk to 150 F in the microwave and then use such a milk frother on it. Seems like a much better idea to me.For those who really want to use the steam frother anyway, the instructions to take it apart were unclear to me. I eventually figured out that you are supposed to take the shiny metal part and rotate it a bit counter-clockwise (looking *from the top down*), after which you can pull it down.Gee, did I warn this would be a long review?

Fast, Easy to Use, and a Great Cup of Joe

I’ve absolutely loved using our new De’Longhi Magnifica Evo coffee machine. This thing is so fast, easy to use, and makes an excellent cup of coffee. We got this machine to replace another whole bean machine, and the Evo blows it out of the water. All you need to do is add beans, water, and milk, and the machine takes care of the rest. We love that there is no need to pack the grinds for an espresso, which seriously sped up our morning routine without any loss of flavour or creaminess. My husband was just saying that we can never go back to packing our own grinds because the Evo is just so much faster.I also love that the machine makes everything fro mixed coffee to cappuccinos, and all in a sleek, modern-looking machine that has a slimmer profile than our last one, which looks great in our kitchen and saves us precious counter space.I also appreciate that there is a large cavity for beans, so we don’t have to refill the machine as often. But I also really like that there’s a port for pre-ground coffee, which enables us to make regular and decaf coffee without switching out the beans. Overall, I have been so impressed with this powerful, versatile machine and I can’t recommend it enough.

    So far? Amazing!

I read all the reviews, advice, tutorials, and manuals. I went in prepared with reasonable expectations and was ready to make the adjustments. I was totally blown away. First, I followed the instructions: read all the instructions before unboxing (manual is on the companies website along with a video of a walk through of the process). I had a Saturday morning set aside for set up prepared to make lots of adjustments, so Friday night I unboxed and did my water prime. (Hint- the water filter is a bit tough. I ended up priming without it and coming back to it in the morning. If the filter light won’t stop flashing it’s not o all the way. Also, it flushes a LOT of water after install, empty your basin before doing this step, I overflowed.)Next I set up the espresso settings. Waste at least 3 shot of espresso, then brew a shot to judge BEFORE you make any adjustments to brew strength or grind size. The system needs 3-4 shots to get ready. I didn’t have to make any adjustments. My espresso came out beautiful, just like the picture tasting amazing with a light fruity finish -(Lavazzo espresso Barista Gran Crema whole bean).Last I set up the Lattecrema system. Lots of reviews say it doesn’t make much froth, but all I had in the house was lactose free skim milk and my macchiato had an inch of foam on top.All of my drinks have been piping hot, and even my plain cup of coffee had a head of crema offer brewing.I’m kind of in love with this machine. I’ve named him. I’ve had way too much coffee this morning.I have always wanted a coffee maker like this and it has definitely lived up to the hype!

    Love this machines

I purchased this espresso machine as a thoughtful Mother’s Day gift for my coffee-loving wife. Previously, we owned both a Nespresso and a Keurig machine. However, since switching to this new espresso machine, we have experienced significant savings. Instead of buying Nespresso cups weekly, we now only need to purchase a single bag of beans from Costco for just $11, which lasts us the entire month. With five people in our household, including my wife who enjoys two cups of coffee daily, as well as our kids who occasionally indulge in iced coffee, this machine has proven to be a cost-effective solution. We used to spend $20 on Nespresso cups every week, but now, with the beans, a single bag lasts us the entire month. I am thrilled that we made the switch from Nespresso and Keurig machines and have been able to save money while still enjoying our favorite coffee at home. Additionally, the milk frother on this machine is fantastic, and it was one of the reasons I chose this model. My wife and kids love the frothy milk on their coffee, and I do too. Since we have this machine, we haven’t visited Starbucks in quite some time. It’s truly a game-changer for us.

    Solid little work horse

My mother-in-law had this coffee maker for the past 15 years and it worked flawlessly for her, so we decided to get one (replacing our beloved Saeco Royal Coffee Bar which stopped working after 20 years and 30,000 cup of Joes). We love this machine. It’s small, the espresso tastes great. It has a pre-ground feature. It’s frothing system isn’t great, but we got a separate milk frother for $30, the 2 appliances combined take up less space than our prior espresso maker. I’m very happy with it. I wish the water tank and the dredge drawer would be larger, but I guess you can’t have everything with the small footprint.

    Awesome!

I never thought that I would spend this much money on a coffee machine. But I did! And I absolutely love this machine!Pretty easy set up, getting all of the settings figured out, I actually look forward to making my cup of coffee in the morning! I don’t want to drink coffee from any place else, because I love the coffee that this machine makes!
