Simple to use, makes great coffee
My wife and I are retired and I am the only one who drinks coffee (and tea). This French Press is perfect for me because it makes three mugs of coffee so that If I want a refill it’s not a problem. It’s very easy to use and extremely easy to clean which, for me, is very important. I love that it has a double wall because the coffee stays nice and hot for my second and third cups. I put very hot water into the pot and the outside of the pot is still at room temperature. There are only three parts to clean/rinse – the pot, the filter and the lid.I no longer use the popular coffee maker that uses sealed cups because I never know if it’s truly clean inside. There’s no way to get to the inside of the machine to see if it’s clean and the cleaning process is long winded. I’ve used white vinegar to see if I can dissolve any calcium inside, especially when it does not produce as much coffee any more. What a difference the French Press has made. We get consistent results using the French Press and it’s very easy to use and clean. I can’t see that I will ever need anything else to make my coffee.

I really love the look of this French Press. I haven’t figured out how to make really strong coffee but I suspect it’s the user not the product.

Best French press on earth 😍
No grounds in left in coffee or tea, like at all, super easy clean, and so damned cute.

Really love this french press by Fellow!
Build quality and materials are top notch. Double wall construction keeps coffee hot where glass fails. All directional poor lid is great. No need to line your top up with spout. Ultra fine filtration mesh really reduced coffee sediment. Oh yeah, it looks great alongside your other Fellow coffee products.

Excellent refinement of French Press
This press looks handsome and feels good in the hand, but it’s the functional refinements that really make it shine. I’ve long loved French Press style coffee. I’ve made it at home for years, using various devices – including the most popular types, it seems. They make good coffee, but the glass ones can break pretty easily and they don’t keep your coffee very hot. The double-walled metal varieties mostly fix the ‘breaks easy’ and ‘keep hot’ parts, but all of these more traditional systems that I’ve seen use a plunger with three parts down at the business end of things and all that needs to get disassembled and cleaned regularly – and that’s frankly a hassle. The Fellow Clara has replaced that mess with one integrated unit that screws onto the end of the plunger. With a soapy brush, it cleans easily, thoroughly, and in a jiffy. There is nothing to disassemble. That integrated screening/filtering unit is surrounded with what appears to be a ribbed silicone ring (which is also integral to the single filtering assembly – I’m describing just an important aspect of it, here). It fits perfectly, works like a gasket, and is very effective at keeping grit out of your finished brew. The double, very fine screen filters embedded in the filtering assembly play a large role in that, too. All together, it’s by far the most effective filtering I’ve ever had with a French Press – and it is simultaneously by far the easiest to clean. That takes virtually all of the hassle out of making French Press coffee. The carafe keeps the coffee very hot for a long time – much longer than my other double-walled unit. And you can just let the coffee sit, pressed down to the bottom, while you pour from this one vessel for .. something like two hours, maybe more .. while it stays quite hot and doesn’t grow bitter or over-brewed from contact with the grounds. Take it all together and this is a truly excellent French Press. Note that it’s only about a 4 cup capacity or so. Great for one or two people on a morning, but you’ll make multiple batches if you want more brew. Fortunately, that’s a cinch with this product.

Love my Fellow French press!
I love a great cup of coffee and feel that I’ve tried the gamut of preparation methods. The French press is probably my favorite for quality, but I hate the clean up. The Fellow is wonderful in that regard. The plunger is all one piece and eliminates the need to unscrew and remove screens. It is also incredibly smooth to plunge. So much so that I have to be mindful about not pressing too fast. I’ve made coffee at least 2 dozen times in this unit and have noted that the grind strainer is fantastic. As long as you are brewing with the correct grind size, nothing is going to get last this strainer. I’ve also been using this French press with the Fellow bean grinder and kettle. All are of the highest quality and well worth the cost.

Gorgeous, functional….but pricey
This isn’t a magical french press, so let’s start with that. The high price is because of the brand, the fact that this insulated and it’s a gorgeous, premium product. I decided to go with this french press because I wanted something that would keep my coffee warm and match the matte black/walnut aesthetic of my coffee station. It works great and relatively easy to clean up. I appreciate the inclusion of the agitator, but I typically use one of my silicone jar scrappers when it is time to clean it as the wooden agitator is kinda useless in that regard. This is definitely something you need to hand wash carefully as you don’t want to damage the wood handles but I treated both handles with butcher block oil to help protect them. I wish this was a little bit bigger, but outside of those few things, I really like this french press.

Fellow hit the nail on the head with this one!
I have gone through at least 5 different French press makers over the last couple years. As crazy as it sounds I find things about them that irritate me. Whether its the screens getting clogged, plungers getting bent, spout leaking down the side of the press when pouring, etc.. there is always something that I find makes it a bad experience.I have used this 4 times this week, and I can say with full certainty that Fellow has knocked this one out of the park. All of the moving parts feel very solid and sturdy. The plunger is smooth. The screens are thick and durable. The whole press is insulated. The coffee pours out no matter where you line up the top lid. Honestly, this is the first French press that I have used where I did not get an urge to hit the return button on Amazon. I have a Fellow Ode brew grinder, so this matte black finish is a perfect match sitting next to the grinder.Treat yourself to what I would say is the most innovative and well thought out French press on the market… 5 stars all day!

Great product!
I really noticed a change in my appreciation of the flavor of coffee…less bitter. I’m using less creamer. Maybe it just has to do with taking more time to stir and steep the coffee, according to the directions…and it really does keep the coffee hot over time.

It’s a wonderful little guy
We purchased this coffee press to use during our kitchen remodel. It makes wonderful coffee very easily. We have an electric tea kettle which is all you need for a great cup of coffee while the kitchen is down and the kurig is packed away. My husband has decided not to go back to the kureg as he says his coffee tastes so much better using the press. This press works well little to no grit left in the bottom of the cup and it stays hot longer then other presses he’s used. It’s easy to clean (garden hose spray) and the coffee grounds are good for the plants outside. It’s become a win win with very little waste. He loves his coffee outside in the mornings listening to the birds chirp as he surveys his garden. Who ever thought he would be sharing a cup of Joe with his plants? Wonders of wonders. Yes it’s expensive but it works really well keeps his coffee hot and and the grounds got to his garden not in his cup. Yes we recommend.

Aesthetic and Useful
We are happy with this French Press, it’s worth the money spent. It does what it’s supposed to do, doesn’t break easily like the glass ones, and is a really beautiful looking piece of kitchen equipment. The one downside is you are not supposed to put it in the dishwasher. We have not, I assume maybe it will chip the coating on the outside. Overall though, I am happy with this Fellows French Press.

Delicious Brew
I like the insulation that keeps the coffee warm. The improved all-in-one plunger works well and is easier to clean. I’m not sure there is an easy way to clean out the used coffee grounds but the canister rinses better than the plastic or the glass cylinders. I found that for me 30 grams of good quality coffee beans makes a rich brew for 24 oz. and the bamboo stirring paddle is a big improvement over the chopsticks I had previously used. The garden enjoys the added compost. I’ve also noticed that even with the increased amount of coffee I’m drinking, my stomach doesn’t get upset like it used to and I don’t get those caffeine headaches. Blurry-eyed and bouncing off the kitchen cabinets, the morning ritual of making delicious coffee is worth the effort.

It’s worth its price
Very easy to clean and keeps the coffee hot for a long time. I make it before going to bed and wake up to a full flavor coffee that’s not scolding hot to drink. I drink my coffee with nothing in it.

perfect, beautiful, highly functional french press
I love this coffee press. Overall after about a month of use it has been dreamy in many ways. Highly functional, beautiful to see on the counter, keeps the coffee warm for a long time and it has been an unexpected surprise to enjoy bringing it around with me in the morning while getting things done, pouring small cups and keeping the bulk of it warm. The coffee doesn’t seem to get bitter at all, which I had worried about. The included wooden agitator also doubles well to scoop grinds between pots. An amazing, beautifully designed coffee press. I highly recommend it. I went with the walnut details and they are worth it. Glad to have this in my kitchen. Almost makes my sleek wood and steel 1970s Quistgaard Kobenstyle tea kettle look a little dusty.

No more grounds
This is a phenomenal press. Little to no grounds whether using fine or coarse blend coffee. More like a fine silt at the bottom. It is expensive but of very high quality. Th fact that it works so well make the cost immaterial.

Fellow Clara French Press
I don’t drink coffee, sorry. But I do drink tea made from loose leaves and French presses work as well for a pot of Earl Grey as for a pot of Jamaican Blue. So I tested this with Earl Grey. This French press is packaged thoughtfully, presses smoothly, is nicely weighted and balanced so it’s easy to pour and doesn’t dribble. I had one cuppa while doing a couple of Sudokus, and after an hour poured another cuppa. It was still steaming. I don’t imagine the tea will stay hot all day, but it got me through the morning nicely. The parts are easy to clean. It’s lovely to look at. I banged the bottom edge with a sharp knife which made a ding mark, but didn’t break through the finish. I think under normal use, this press should be lovely to look at for years and years.By the way, I normally prepare my morning tea with a brand name automatic tea maker, and have for years. It brews well and that’s nice, but it’s another “electric” countertop thing and sometimes I just want to clear the decks. But here’s what’s encouraged me to do just that: same tea, same prep, same mug, the tea made in this French press tasted better than the tea made in the automatic tea maker. More full-bodied. I can’t imagine why, but there it is.This French press is a go for me.UPDATE: I mentioned in that I deliberately made a “ding” in the finish with the edge of a knife, and that with normal use the finish should be fine. It is fine, but it does chip a bit at the edges. Even still, I bought a second Fellow Clara for another residence because I really like using it to brew tea. And for reasons not at all clear since I can’t compare the two side by side, the one Clara doesn’t dribble or drip, the other does. Like, by a lot. STILL, I like how this brews my tea and that it keeps it hot until the last serving. Still five star, but with caveats.

Keeps coffee hot
Wanted a French press that kept coffee hotter than glass carafe but produced brew of same quality. This is it. Hot for more than 1/2 hour. And coffee is surprisingly rich, given the that the filter is a single piece (not 3 as in traditional French presses)

The best French press in the business
Not only is it beautiful, elegantly constructed, and efficiently designed, but it’s ultra-functional and easy to use. And it makes delicious coffee. No leeching of metallic taste into the coffee like you get from leading brands. The pot keeps the coffee warm and fresh for quite a long time. Cleaning is simple. Minimal quantity of parts. It’s a coffee lover’s treasure and prize possession.

The best press money can buy
I bought mine used on eBay. I’ve made coffee in every conceivable way (except Turkish), and this is my favorite. The Clara is a great press, with less sediment in the cup than most, and the matte black finish matches my Fellow Ode Gen 1 grinder and Atmos storage jarlWeigh 30g beans from my Atmos, start the Ode, mist (WDT) add the beans, then add the resulting grinds to the Clara, pour in 500 ml hot (90F) water, stir, and wait 4 minutes. Break the crust at 4 minutes, wait 30 sec., and remove any floating bits. Wait 5 minutes, press, and pour (this is James Hoffmann’s ‘ideal’ French press method q.v.)).Change the grind size or dosage to adjust to your taste. Enjoy!Simple method, and cleanup is a breeze; great coffee, too!

I was a bit apprehensive to purchase this because of the price. I am so glad I decide to buy it after all. The coffee stays HOT, not warm for at least two hours or more. I live in a European condo with limited kitchen space and do not have a microwave. Therefore, the traditional french press will not work since it gets cold so quickly. If you decide to purchase I hope you will be as happy as I am drinking my coffee.PS The fit and feel is of quality. The lid seals and fits snug and it looks pretty cool too!

Pricey but worth it
I’ve owned a lot of coffee gadgets, including a variety of french presses. This is by far one of the best. Perfect amount for a morning session, and keeps it pretty dang hot for a long time. About burned my mouth the first time thinking it wouldn’t be as effective. So if you use a french press every once and a while then probably not worth it. But if you do french press most of the time, then get this, you won’t regret it. Plus it looks pretty slick too.

The Cadillac of French Press Brewers
If you’ve ever had a Fellow brand product before, then you know that it doesn’t get much better than this. Beautifully designed, this French press is pretty enough to stay out on the counter rather than be hidden away in a kitchen cabinet.Functionality is top notch. It’s truly a joy to use this thing. I’ll be honest, it’s taken me a little while to get used to not being able to see the coffee as it’s being brewed. (I’m obviously coming from the standard glass French press that everyone and their mother has because it was cheap and good enough at Target many years ago.) But if you trust your measurements and your timing, there’s no need to look at the coffee! Just measure, pour, wait, plunge, pour, and enjoy. If you’ve read this far in my review, I think you can just go ahead and click Buy Now.

Easy to clean and very good coffee
I have a lot of coffee gear, and while I like cafetières, they are a PITA to clean. Not this one! Not only is the inside nice and smooth, and it comes with a cute stirrer which is actually very good for cleaning out grounds, it also somehow avoids getting a lot of grit in the filter. As a result, I use it nearly every day. It’s the perfect size for two decent mugs of coffee in the morning and then I (usually) cut myself off for the day. Highly recommended, worth every penny.

A well-made, robust coffee pot. The filter / plunger is well designed and, unlike others I’ve used, does not require dismantling to wash. The plunger has a nice silicone seal around the edge. Weirdly this sometimes ‘sticks’ a little on the way down, and sometimes slides smoothly. I’m not sure why and it’s not a problem, but a quirk of the design. The pot I have is robust enough to take a whack when emptying the spent coffee grounds and, after more than a year of daily use, the handle, a potential weak point in the construction, remains firm, in spite of being knocked about when banging to loosen and empty the soggy grounds. I hand wash mine, so don’t know how it would fare in the dishwasher. The only sign of a weakness is that, after many many months of daily use, the paint finish around the upper lip of the jug has some small areas where it is coming away slightly. This is purely cosmetic and not a problem, given the overall quality. I would buy another one if mine should give up for any reason. I really like it.

Worth the money
After years of drinking high quality coffee but using a drip machine I finally broke down and bought my french press. The reason I chose this model is that it’s insulated and I like HOT coffee. I prefer a bolder brew so normally let mine go about 20 minutes and my coffee is always piping hot. The cleanup is easy and the plunger works smoothly. I’m going to include my quick lesson for what I think is the perfect french press cup. Weigh your coffee to the amount that gives you the consistency you like, there are guides online for various brew strengths. Put the ground coffee in the bottom of the pot, pour the hot, filtered water over it, give a quick stir to be sure it’s all in the process, place the top on without pushing the plunger, wait 15-20 minutes, remove the top and use a couple of tablespoons to remove the grounds that have floated to the top, replace the top and proceed to push the plunger down VERY SLOWLY so as not to disturb the grounds at the bottom, go ahead and press the plunger all of the way down, some instructions will tell you to only push it to the top of the water but I disagree, once the plunger is firmly pressed to the bottom gently pour the coffee into your mug. This gives me an amazing cup of grounds free coffee every time. If you’re on the fence about moving to a french press take the leap it is sooo worth it

Nicely made, not breakable
This is traditional style French Press coffee maker. It functions in the traditional manner. However, it has the advantage of being all metal which also means it will not break easily thus it is an excellent choice for use on my boat. Further the canister is insulated so that the coffee will be held warm for lengthy periods of time. Everything seems to be quite well made and very durable.

Delivers Perfect Coffee
I initially was unsure about this heavy French press. It won me over after delivering flavorful coffee without the “mud” commonly found in French presses. Very easy to use, with a wide mouth that prevents spilling grounds. It is also very simple to clean. I like that this press holds two large cups of coffee, one for early morning and another for mid-morning, delivered hot from the insulated container. A bit expensive. Worth it.

Best press
Best press I’ve owned. So easy to clean and love how it keeps the coffee warm, not hot but warm which is fine as it’s just me and I drink through it fairly quickly. I must add that you really need to use the marked top fill line when measuring the water. I tried filling it higher and the grounds just don’t stay underneath the press sufficiently and although the mesh in the lid stops the grounds, it really impedes the flow of coffee as you’re pouring and thereby takes a bit more cleaning. Easy fix though and, again, by far the best press I’ve ever owned!

Best french press ever
Fellow makes the best coffee stuff of any company out there. This french press is not only functional, but it also looks amazing. It is so well designed you might mistake it for a piece of art. But it is a coffee maker. And a good one. The double walls keep coffee hot post-brew, the press works perfectly, the handle does not get hot, and it just works. My glass bodum french press went to a donation bin when this guy arrived.

Perfection!
Brews the perfect cup! I was looking for an alternative to the Keurig and pods, but don’t have space for a traditional coffee maker. The directions are easy to follow and it keeps the coffee hot as promised. I used this with Kona beans I buy from Hawaii and think it’s more flavorful than regular brewing. Highly recommend!

Blown away by the Quality!!
I LOVE this french press!!I had done massive research on different brands and saw this one was highly recommended. I wanted a press that would truly keep the grounds separate and keep the coffee hot. That’s the thing with a french press, the coffee cools so fast. Not this one!Wow!! You can pour that first cuppa and wait till later in the morning and it will still be hot for that second cup. The pressing down action is so smooth, the marks of where to pour the water are clear. I wish the mark for the coffee grounds for a full pot were easier to see. Since it’s way down inside, it’s sorta hard to see, but such a tiny complaint for such a grand french press!I would buy this again and again and give it to everyone as a gift. if you’re considering this, YES, this is the one you want!

I appreciate that I don’t have to worry about grit or grounds in my coffee, even when I’m camping or traveling.Speaking of travel, the Fellow Clara Coffee Press is incredibly portable. It’s lightweight and compact, making it easy to take on the go. Whether I’m hiking, camping, or just heading to work, I can always have a fresh cup of coffee with me.Finally, I want to mention the quality of the coffee that this French press produces. The coffee is rich and flavorful, and I love that I can control the strength by adjusting the amount of coffee and water that I use.Overall, I highly recommend the Fellow Clara Coffee Press Coffee Maker to anyone who loves great coffee and wants a portable, high-quality French press. It’s stylish, functional, and makes an amazing cup of coffee every time.

Awesome! and beautiful too
This is still very new for me, but so far it has brewed some of the best coffee we have ever had. It took some getting used to as to how much to use. It uses less than my Chemex did. Two scoops was just too strong. One scoop and stir and leave it it for 15-20 minutes then make sure that the lid is on tight and press down gently. I had no problem with water or coffee coming out during the press. It goes down easily with minimal effort. We buy Starbucks Cafe Verona dark roast ground coffee. Fine grind. We like our coffee dark but not bitter. This makes a delicious cup for my husband who likes it black and me who uses Trivia and cream.

Makes delicious coffee
This is the first time I have ever used a French press, and I am SO pleased with this particular French press. I admit that I was very intimidated with this way of making coffee, and even though my brother kept insisting I should try it, I put off giving it a try for quite awhile because I thought using a French press would be too complicated or messy. This French press is so easy to use! The directions included with the press are very detailed and clear, so this is great for someone who has never used one of these before. The company genuinely wants you to have the best cup of coffee ever. The press comes with an agitator for the grounds. The press is not only easy to use, it’s also very easy to clean up afterwards. I am more than pleased with my experience and let me just say, I have been LOVING the coffee I’m able to make in this French press. It’s so delicious. I was using one of the very popular automatic single cup coffee makers, and those don’t hold a candle to the incredible coffee that a French press makes. I’m really enjoying this press. Highly recommend!!!

Great coffee | Stays Hot | Easy to Clean | Durable – Despite what other reviews say!!!
Before I get to the product review I want to point out something very important. ONLY the FILTER COMPONENTS ARE DISHWASHER SAFE. The CARAFE is NOT DISHWASHER SAFE! The instructions are very explicit about this. Those who posted negative reviews about the handle breaking or the paint chipping are very likely putting the whole thing in the dishwasher. The instructions say NOT to do this – hand wash the carafe and you will be fine!My review: (Expensive, but worth it)-Excellent Coffee-Stays hot for a long time-Easy to Clean-Best filter element design I have seen on a French Press—–It has a rubber gasket around the edge, which does an excellent job of keeping your pour coffee ground free.

BIG “wow factor” with the quality and performance of this.
First, I’ll sum this up as simply as possible – THIS is the finest coffee maker I’ve had in my 55+ years of coffee making. Now, I’ll elaborate on what I love about this. The design, and attention to details are outstanding on this. From top to bottom, I tried to find fault with this, but only kept discovering more things I loved about it.Here’s why I think this is unique, and a cut above the competition:The item is heavy, well constructed, and durable, with flawless finishes on both the outer shell, and the ceramic (?) coated interior. It’s smooth to the touch everywhere, and ergonomically designed. The plunger knob is large and effortless to use. The shaft of the plunger is 2x the thickness of my old press, and the threads that engage with the screen filter are fine and precisely machined. The mesh screen assembly is one piece, and that means no disassembling to clean the spring, screen, cage, etc. It also has a silicone ring on the outer diameter that makes it REALLY smooth to use. So, no more ‘Skreek! Skronk! scratchy sound and feel of metal-meets-glass, – and NO sharp screen edges to cut my hands on when washing. The handle is very comfortable and balanced, with the center of gravity right below the connection to the body, so despite the hefty weight of the unit, it’s almost effortless to pour from it. It also has a very precise, and predictable pour – from full-on, to the thinnest pin-stream.The pour spout is dripless, thanks to a little extra design attention. It’s shaped wide for pouring, but has an upright slope at the end to the lip to prevent spills. The top cage system lid can be used without fussing with orientation to properly locate the pour spout. No matter how you install it, it’s ready to go. I think that’s brilliant, and it makes the entire brewing process a lot easier. It’s a minor thing, but I brew three batches per day, and NOT having to look for an alignment makes me happy. The top also sits smoothly inside the vessel, and I think it looks more pleasing on my table/countertop than my old press. As far as heat retention, it’s outstanding. One of the issues I had with my glass-type press was that by the time the grounds were properly steeped, it started losing heat. So, I took to adding boiling water to my mug to compensate for things. With this press, it’s one less thing to fuss with. Water goes in hot, and the brew stays hot. I dozed off the other night with the press half-full, and three hours later, my coffee was still perfectly hot. The insulated design also allows my grounds to steep for the full duration in the pot, and my grind gets more ‘kick’ as it sits. So, no need to rush things. I appreciate that as well. The inclusion of the wooden stirring and clean-out paddle is a bonus, and it’s nice to have a dedicated, nice looking, well-made hardwood item on my prep area.As far as cleanup, the inner ceramic coating acts like non-stick coating, and with a little added water, the spent grounds just slip right out into my compost container. Again, it’s a minor detail, but it takes less work, and requires less water for clean rinsing.Overall, I’m thoroughly impressed by the quality, design, and manufacture of this piece. It looks great on my table, it’s simpler and more enjoyable to use, and it keeps my brew hot while I’m working or entertaining. This one’s built to last, and I’m very pleased that I took a chance on it. It’s a cliché, and “you get what you pay for” applies, but they also went a few steps beyond in value with this one.

Well worth it
Coffee comes out bright and very low sediment. The insulation will keep a pot warm for a good couple hours at least. It does look just as great as the photos when it arrives.

Love my Fellows French press
Dislike… it can peal easily on the top border after months of wear and tear….Love… it works great and the small pealing takes lots of wear and tear… i like mine. It gives it character. Would buy another if this one would break… sure it will take some years for that…. If you like french pressed coffee warm… this is a great addition to the kitchen tool set!

I would buy this over and over again – but luckily, because this is so durable and effective, I shouldn’t have to! We are in love with this French press; the flavor of the coffee is unreal, it is efficient, stylish and very easy to clean. Highly recommend!

So you are going to spend this much on a french press . It works well for what it is . At the end of the day it keeps the coffee hot for maybe an hour or so . But you are if you were honest buying it because it looks the dogs whatnots on the shelf and it does
