Final Thoughts

The Café Specialty Drip Coffee Maker is more than just a traditional coffee maker—it’s a carefully engineered appliance designed to bring out the best flavors in your coffee with precision, convenience, and smart technology. Whether you are a seasoned coffee enthusiast or someone who enjoys the occasional morning cup, this machine ensures that every brew meets the highest industry standards while offering an effortless and enjoyable coffee-making experience.

Exceptional Coffee Quality, Certified for Excellence

One of the standout features of this machine is its Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) certification. This certification means that the coffee maker has been tested against the golden standards of brewing, ensuring that each cup is brewed at the optimal temperature, time, and water-to-coffee ratio. Unlike generic drip coffee makers that might overheat or under-extract the coffee, the Café Specialty Drip Coffee Maker delivers balanced, full-bodied coffee every time, allowing the natural flavors and aromas of your beans to shine through.

Smart Technology for Effortless Brewing

This coffee maker is not only about exceptional taste but also about convenience. With WiFi connectivity and voice-to-brew technology, it seamlessly integrates with smart home assistants like Alexa and Google Assistant, allowing you to start brewing with a simple voice command. Imagine waking up in the morning and simply saying, “Brew my coffee,” without even leaving your bed. The ability to control and customize your brew remotely means that your coffee is ready when you want it, exactly how you like it.

Additionally, the customizable brew settings allow you to adjust strength, temperature, and brewing size, catering to different taste preferences and coffee styles. Whether you prefer a bold, strong coffee to start your day or a smooth, milder cup for a relaxing afternoon, this machine ensures a tailored brewing experience.

Thermal Carafe for Superior Heat Retention

A common issue with many coffee makers is that coffee starts losing its freshness and flavor when left on a warming plate for too long. The Café Specialty Drip Coffee Maker eliminates this problem by using a 10-cup insulated thermal carafe. Unlike glass carafes that require a hot plate to keep coffee warm—often resulting in burnt or bitter flavors—the thermal carafe maintains optimal heat naturally, keeping your coffee hot and fresh for hours without any compromise in taste.

Designed for Modern Kitchens – Aesthetic & Functional

Beyond its technical prowess, this coffee maker boasts a sleek, contemporary design with a premium matte black finish. Unlike bulky, outdated coffee makers, this unit adds a sophisticated, modern touch to any kitchen. The compact yet durable build ensures that it fits seamlessly into various kitchen layouts while maintaining an aesthetic appeal that complements other premium appliances.

Ease of Use & Maintenance – Built for Everyday Coffee Lovers

While some high-end coffee makers come with complex settings that require a learning curve, the Café Specialty Drip Coffee Maker keeps things simple and intuitive. The pre-programmed settings, automatic brew feature, and removable water reservoir make it incredibly easy to operate. Whether you’re brewing a single cup, a small batch, or a full 10-cup carafe, the process is effortless.

When it comes to maintenance, the coffee maker is designed for easy cleaning with dishwasher-safe parts, preventing the buildup of coffee residue and ensuring a consistently clean and fresh taste.

    Makes great tasting coffee!

I really love a lot about to this machine. First, it looks fantastic. I got the brushed steel color with a copper handle. Second, it fits under my cabinets, but you do have to pull it out to fill it. Third, it makes coffee in less than 3 minutes. Fourth, it makes a great cup of coffee. I did have to play around with temperature and coffee amount to get the perfect cup, but that’s part of the learning process for anything new. Fifth, I like that it has charcoal filter system for extra clean water.Other things to note are that you can use a paper filter or just the basket as is, which is how I prefer it. Also the charcoal filters need to be replaced but you can buy replacements for 15 dollars for an 8 pack. It is programmable and can be hooked to wifi so you can operate it through your devices.I bought a used model at a substantial discount and it was very clean and only the coffee scoop was missing, so I got a great price. The only detractor is condensation building up in water tank so I just leave it open after using it.

    Brews the best coffee consistently

Looks great, brews the best coffee consistently. Ilike being able to start the brew from my phone before heading downstairs so it’s ready just in time. Stays hot in the carafe for at least two hours without getting burnt or bitter like that on a hot plate. Best coffee maker I’ve had so far.

    Solution to escaping heat

I love my new coffee maker. The many different options (heat, cups, timer) make this a great machine. The only downfall was the escaping heat from the carafe due to the design. I decided to take a wine cork and trim it to fit in the hole. Coffee stays nice and hot now. The look and the options make this a great machine and produces great coffee. So glad I made this choice.

    Love this coffee maker!

Besides obviously being the most beautiful coffee maker, it’s so silent, easy to use, enhances the decor in my kitchen, I just love this! I was hesitant at first because it is pricey but I’m so glad I purchased! I don’t understand the negative reviews on it being messy and the coffee grounds splattering everywhere. If you can read and follow simple instructions, you’ll be good. My reco is to use paper filters and get them slightly damp with a few drops of water – that’s it. Not sure why some people find this so hard. The Bluetooth functionality is nice but what I have liked the most is that it takes the guess work out of cups per coffee tablespoons ratio. The cups in the water tank are not the US cup measures but suggested cup to scoop ratio (scoop included although I use the one that came in my coffee canister pictured – it’s the same amount). Highly recommend if you want something beautiful that makes good coffee. I’m so over the ugly looking coffee makers.

    Beautiful coffee maker

I’m very pleased with my cafe specialty . The coffee is brewed to perfection and it stays super hot in the carafe. I love the white, it looks very sleek. The only thing with the white is that the coffee staining will be more noticeable. I tried a mr clean eraser and that seemed to help. It’s on the inside however so no big deal.

    The coffee tastes great.

This is a very good coffee maker. I only have one complaint; when you pour the coffee into the cup from the carafe, sometimes it drips on the table. You have to pour it slowly. Overall, I recommend this coffee maker.

    I Recommend This Machine

Coffee…. What is Coffee? The process of applying hot water and pressure to a roasted and ground coffee bean! People have been drinking coffee for centuries. Made in many different fashions. Most of which create the same result. So when it comes to a coffee machine, what is going to set you apart from the other coffee makers is pretty much just going to be design. Still applying hot water and pressure to roasted and ground coffee beans. As for the final result, it’s going to be the bean that’s the star of the show. How it’s roasted and how it’s ground. That’s It! When I was looking for a new coffee machine, I knew what I was getting into. The machine needed to meet the aesthetic of my kitchen. A timer for delayed brewing and a thermal carafe for mobility and a hope of easy clean up. Every other feature would be pointless. I found all of the necessary criteria I asked for in this machine. Every other feature on this including and especially the Bluetooth feature is absolutely pointless and should be removed from future models. Water temperature should just be 200dg. and that’s it! Anyone who believes a variation on this probably thinks starbucks is good coffee anyway! It’s not the temp of the water…. It’s the bean you choose!! Cooler or warmer than 200dgs. is another pointless pursuit.Waking up in the morning to a freshly brewed pot of coffee, ready for the drinking is one of the great joys in life. Taking the carafe with me back to the bedroom is a non negotiable feature I simply can’t do without! I needed to trust my bean squeezins will still be drinkable for the next couple of hours. It is! My previous maker’s carafe was a little thicker and kept the coffee hotter longer but this one is very adequate. This Cafe’ brand Coffee Maker has hit all my required marks. And just like the human face, it’s the nose of my kitchen. I see it as I walk into the room. And she’s pretty! The Italian influence in design, anchors my kitchens old world with modern twists as the eye darts about taking it all in.I particularly love the machines ability to be cleaned and dried… Dried is a very important aspect of coffee makers. The water reservoir in particular. Getting in there and drying this space with my hand before it begins to calcify and yellow, was a very important variable in my choosing this machine. Most are narrow and unreachable. This is a part of any other well kept kitchen that stands out from across the room if the tank is cloudy and yellowed. A pimple on the nose of my kitchen if you will….Auto set for time, time of brew and temperature are a little clunky in their execution. And temperature should not have be a concern in this makers abilities. 200dg. That’s it! Get on with your life!! Don’t quite know how that made it through the R&D phase of development. This could have been much simpler without interfering with the integrity of the look or function. In the end of this tiresome review … I fully recommend this coffee maker. I’ve waited several months to make a review so it wouldn’t be a knee jerk impression. Once I dialed it in… Please note, that only took a few minutes not an online search for a tutorial on how to, it was pretty much ready, aim , fire. I’ve been enjoying seeing her sitting in her place of honor in my kitchen as well as her morning gifts of liquid courage , to take on the events of the day!

Looks great, makes good coffee, lots of excess water

Loving this machine so far, but I always have to disassemble it and wipe it down before using it again. A lot of water builds up in the machine and it seems to keep dripping and dripping unless I take it apart and wipe it down.

    Best Home Brewer

Get this machine, put it on the bold setting and let it brew the best cup of drip coffee you’ve ever made yourself. If you don’t want to fuss with all the settings and the extra of pulling a shot, this is for sure for you. Did I mention, the coffee stays hot literally all day and you can set what ever temperature you want. Ours defaulted to 197 on bold and I’d never change it.One last thing, for those saying that coffee grounds splashes up on the area where the water drips out, they’re putting too much coffee in the filter. To prevent that, get yourself a decent automatic grinder and a some whole beans. Set the grinder to however many cups you want and let it do its job. That’s all the actual amount of grounds you need.Wrote this review in the time it took to brew a pot. Too easy, don’t think twice!

Not Only Beautiful, But High Quality!

This coffee maker is perfect for coffee-loving homes. It’s very simple to use and makes a fast batch (in just under 5 minutes for the whole pot). It’s also a very sleek and modern design that fits well in my kitchen. My family loves gourmet coffee, but we don’t always have time to create pour-over brews–especially at volume. This was the perfect solution for us because it provides the quality of flavor that a traditional pour-over “bloom” offers, while also giving the convenience of an automatic brew machine. Definitely worth the investment for us!

    Very good taste

I’m the old fashion coffee guy- brewing like grandma. This coffee maker os very much what I was looking for. I do not use all the features, e.g. wifi or timer but I love the cup selection and brewing selection (mild, medium, bold). Coffee stays hot in thermal carafe for more than an hour. Definitely what I was looking for. Cons: price

    So impressed!!

Ok so I’ve been a die hard Bunn fan for almost 20 yrs. I’ve bought other coffee pots and always returned them. My Bunn finally broke and the model I had they don’t make anymore. So after reading tons of reviews I gave this Café a try and I love it. Coffee flavor is spot on and having a pot that I can preset is a major plus. My son came over and loves it so much I just purchased a second one for him!

    Beautiful & Well Crafted

By looks alone, this Cafe coffee maker is a work of art. And beyond looks, this is without a doubt the best coffee maker I have ever owned. Using the gold setting (the other settings are great too, but the default gold setting is all one really needs) with either the supplied wire-mesh filter or a bamboo filter truly results in a hot, rich, and flavorful cup of coffee. Just as good as any coffee shop! And the thermos carafe keeps the remaining coffee hot long enough until those cups are consumed (and I don’t have to worry about it breaking as with the glass carafes). It is easy to clean, but (and this is my only complaint) the lid for the water tank and the lid for the brewing section are not designed to be kept flipped open at the same time for drying (which I could do with my previous machine). I solved the problem by using a wooden clothes pin to snap the lids together (and thus open) at a 90-degree angle. After doing a lot of research on the internet, including looking at the Wirecutter recommendations for other brands, I am so glad I discovered and purchased this Cafe coffee maker.

    Excellent Quality

When you unpack the machine you immediately know it’s not a me too plastic cheap drip coffee machine. The heft and quality of the carafe is reassuring and the overall build and feel of the machine is top notch. Setup was a little fiddly but just follow the steps and all worked. My machine is set up to give us coffee when the morning alarm goes off. When brewing it is nice and quiet, and surprisingly quick (left it at the default “Gold” setting). Although comparatively expensive, it is well worth it. I’m very pleased with it and would recommend to anyone wanting a decent step up from the run of the mill drip machines.

Well, our drip coffee and needed a new coffee machine. After searching online, we found this product as a highly reviewed item. We absolutely love it. We can see why the reviews are so good on this one. We can program our brewing schedules directly from our phone. And the coffee is excellent!

    Beauty and service

We purchased this coffee maker because of its sleek, all-over white look. It is a gorgeous addition to our kitchen. The programmable features are a huge plus. The only drawback is its black electrical cord. You will not see this cord in the listing. It’s a sad detraction from a beautifully-designed machine. So…. I spray-painted the cord white. Tucked away behind the machine, it no longer screams at me.

    Coffer Maker? More like Witchcraft!

I was originally hesitant about purchasing this coffee maker given the price. By no means am I a coffee connoisseur but I do very much enjoy good coffee. My coffee beans come from a local roaster, and have for 15 years. I grind them myself with a conical burr grinder (Oxo Brand). However, I’ve never really paid much attention to the coffee maker itself. When I upgraded from my Cuisinart Grind’n’Brew to my previous Ninja Hot’n’Cold I thought the improvement in coffee quality was amazing. Going from the Ninja to the Cafe though, is Magical. The difference in coffee flavor is magnitudes higher than I thought was possible. The joke in my household is that they have somehow trapped a magical faerie inside of the machine and that’s what makes the coffee so much better. The coffee has practically no bitterness (unless it’s supposed to…how does it know?), regardless of the blend. So, now that I am done praising this, frankly Magical, machine. Here are some useful facts.1) First and foremost, this uses the 4.5oz “cup” measurement. Meaning at 10 “cups” you get approximately 45oz of coffee. A lot of coffee makers use 6oz “cup” measurements and I did not know this (because I did not pay attention) so I was a little shocked when I wasn’t able to get my normal amount of cups from the pot. So some days I end up with 3 pots instead of my normal 2, but it’s well worth it to me.2) The thermal carafe is amazing. Just yesterday I went to get it ready for the next morning and realized there was still a small amount left. When I poured it into my cup (I would not dream of wasting the elixir this produces) I was shocked to learn that 7 hours after brewing it was still warm, I’d say probably around 110-120 F.3) For certain features handled on the Machine (not through the app) you will have to hold down one of the buttons. When you do this there is a short countdown, that displays on the build in screen. I will admit that it took me a couple minutes to realize this. If you are going to use the app you may not even come across this, but I was excited the first day I got it and didn’t want to bother hooking it to my other smart features.4) Follow the instructions that come with the machine for setting up the App, should be a postcard sized black and white card that explains it fairly well. The App (SmartHQ) itself tries to set up a Wall Oven whenever I tried to add this machine.Overall I cannot sing the praises of this machine enough. I cannot compare it to other “high-end” machines like the MochaMaster or methods like pour over Chemex, but compared to the higher end standard machines I’ve had, this is WELL WORTH the money.

Sleek and modern looking, easy to use… AND it makes one heckuva good cup of coffee!

After about six years of faithful service from my Bunn coffee maker, it decided to start leaking. Not bad considering we make at least one pot of coffee a day, and often 2-3 pots on Saturdays. As much as I loved the Bunn, I was ready for a coffee maker I could program to start brewing while I was getting ready in the morning, and didn’t take up quite so much counter space. I had one specific requirement for out new coffee maker. It needed to be SCA Golden Cup certified. After much research it came down to this GE Cafe and the Breville coffee maker that was also Golden Cup certified. The ultimate deciding factors were that the GE Cafe (as expensive as it is) was still about $100 less than the Breville, and it was compatible with my SmartHQ app that I already use with my GE range.I ordered the white Cafe. Not the color choice I really wanted, but definitely easier to convince my wife to purchase it than to spend and additional $40-$50 to get either black or stainless. I know it will take extra care over time to prevent (or, at least slow down) the coffee stains… but it is, what it is. What it is, is a beautiful piece of equipment that certainly dresses up my 80’s countertop and log walls. Right out of the box the coffee maker feels very high quality. It was very easy to set up as well. The instructions were easy to follow, and within minutes I had it connected to SmartHQ and brewing the first pot of coffee.Speaking of coffee, it is fantastic. Even though the instructions did not specifically say to, I did run a pot of water through the coffee maker before brewing my first pot of coffee. For my first pot, I followed the instructions to the letter. I used 1 scoop of coffee per cup. I chose the Gold setting to brew according to SCA standards. The coffee that came out was strong, but not bitter. It was stronger than my wife and I both prefer, but still extremely pleasant to drink. Every pot I have made since then has used the ration of 1 scoop for every 2 cups of coffee. That equates to 1TBSP per cup. Not near as strong and black, but still an absolutely perfect cup of coffee to start the day with.I know the SmartHQ is an added bonus that is certainly not necessary. However, I find it very easy to use. I used it to set up an auto-brew schedule for Mon-Fri, and another for Sundays. For Saturday, I don’t have auto-brew set, but it is still nice to sit in bed, pull up the app on my iPhone and tell it to start brewing the pot I set up the night before. I know I will have a hot pot of coffee waiting on me.I have only been using the Cafe for just over a week, so I certainly can’t speak to reliability over the long haul. I have my reminders set to update this review in 6 months and a year. I will try to update with either pluses or minuses based on how reliably the Cafe is still working for us.

    I love her!

I bought this as a Christmas gift for myself and… I did good! 😉. I tell her I love her every morning and she rewards me with a perfect cup of coffee. I even get a “notification” text from her if I forget to put water in! There are only 2 things I wish were better: 1) I wish there were a “pause” feature on the schedule for days that I’m off work and don’t need to get up quite so early. As it stands now, I set a reminder with Siri to turn that day back on before going to bed. 2) I REALLY REALLY REALLY wish the coffee pot, lid and filter basket were dishwasher safe. Seriously GE, who does dishes by hand anymore? All in all… a very pretty and fantastic coffee maker ❤️

I love that first cup. Every morning must have. When I replaced my old coffee maker, I originally purchased a traditional machine from Walmart and it was just average. A month later, I decided life is too short for mediocre coffee and I researched. This model had the highest reviews so I opted to purchase, telling myself it was worth a little more money. How can one coffee maker, using the same brand and grind of coffee, produce a completely different cup of coffee? The end result is a cup of coffee that is smooth, rich, and dreamy! The only time I’ve had coffee this good is when my husband took me to the Ritz-Carleton in Aruba. Highly recommend!

    Great coffee brew!

Nice looking coffee maker-It does what it’s supposed to //temperature of water while making —perfect/coffee is hot and the warmer works great for about two (2) hours.BUT NOW it keeps saying Add H2O. Directions state in book choose # of cups press start. Nope! I called Cafe. It still works but I stand there push to start—repeat till done. Grr! Also the little carbon filter—where the only place it could be inserted?-my grown son couldn’t open it —it’s in the water reservoir There’s no instructions for the carbon filter; only a small photo on component list ——and it’s not indicated on the photo of the machines and is all the way to the side if alphabet list out of it order ///to replace every three(3) months. I use alkaline water. It says change due to hard water only. Hopefully find the answer here. In reviews. I’ll call Cafe again. I’ve had it over two years.

More then the Bells and Whistles, It Makes Great Coffee!

So after reading some reviews here I was hesitant to buy this machine due to some reviews saying how messy it was. We’ll let’s just get this out of the way. I have yet to see a mess from this machine and have posted photos showing how good the coffee bed actually looks. In the photo, that is 69g of fresh roasted beans ground right before brewing using a Fellow Ode grinder. Not even close to a mess! Now getting into the actual review. My have to haves for this machine were a timer for auto brewing for the weekdays, SCA approved and a thermal carafe. I have owned other SCA approved machines in the past like the Breville Precision Brewer, the Bonivita 8 cup and the latest was an SCA approved Ninja Machine. If the Ratio 6 had a timer that would have been in the running this time around. Unfortunately it does not and this machine checked all my boxes so I decided to give a it a try and so glad I did!Without touching on all it’s options yet, the one thing the machine needed to do in order to make it a keeper was make a great cup of coffee! If it couldn’t do that, then it wouldn’t matter how high tech this thing was and all the fancy stuff it could do, it was going back. Well I am happy to say, this machine makes one delicious cup of coffee! My first reaction to my first brewed sip was WOW, this cup is smooth! It was super smooth, sweet and delicious! An 8 cup pot finished brewing in just about 5 minutes which is pretty fast. The thermal carafe definitely kept the coffee hot for an hour after brewing and was even drinkable 2 hours later. Some reviews mentioned they were upset there was no hot plate. No thermal carafe machine comes with a hot plate! That is the reason for going with the thermal carafe. So your coffee doesn’t cook and continue to change in flavor. If you want a hot plate, you need to buy the glass carafe. That goes for any coffee machine. If you want your coffee to stay the hottest in the thermal carafe, run hot water in the carafe so when you brew your coffee, you won’t be brewing into a cold carafe which will cool the coffee down quicker. Also, the more coffee left in the carafe the longer it will stay hotter for. If you only have one cup left in the carafe, it will cool down quicker then if you have say 4 cups sitting in there. The machine allows you to choose the gold standard setting which sets everything to the SCA approved cup of coffee and no settings can be changed when set to this but for those who like to tinker, the machine also allows you to set the exact temperature of the water from 185° to 205°. You can also change the brew strength between 3 settings, light, medium and bold. I am not sure what this setting actually adjusts as it’s separate from the temperature setting. I haven’t brewed on anything besides the gold setting so far but I am definitely going to test the other stuff out but the Gold Setting brews a great cup.The wifi option is such a bonus on this thing! It makes setting everything up super easy. Being able to set a schedule for weekdays means I don’t need to program the machine every night. If something changes, can just go into the app and change what I need. Have grinds and water in the machine but don’t want to brew yet, can just start the brew from my phone when I am ready. It’s great. Also hooked up to Google Home with no problem. Like I said though, if the machine didn’t brew a great cup of coffee none of this other stuff would have mattered!Bottom line, yes the machine is expensive but if you are reading this review around the time it’s posted, it’s $100 off right now putting it much closer in price and even better then some of it’s competitors! And it make a great cup of Joe!*8 Month Update – Machine is still working great! Have not had any issues and still producing a great cup of coffee. I basically have kept it on the Gold setting and found there is really no need to play with the temp and strength as the Gold Cup produces a great cup. I have been using an 18:1 coffee to water ratio based on the ounces listed on the water reservoir. Fresh roasted whole beans and weighed out. During the week I prep the night before and have a schedule setup in the app for weekdays. In the morning the coffee still comes out great even with grinding the night before. I have yet to experience any mess with grinds overflowing as others talk about and have made pots using up to 74 grams of coffe. Still recommend this machine.

    So I bought this used

I bought this used. I read what the seller wrote in the description. Omg it was so not as they described. I bought a “very good” on problem was packaging. They whole thing was filthy. It still had coffee in it. It won’t setup to WiFi. After spending an hour cleaning it. It worked great and makes great coffee. But the seller should be shot. And Amazon warehouse was supposedly the seller bi have bought other things with packaging issues and everything was great. Not this time. I also didn’t save that much.

    Best coffee pot ever

Don’t hesitate to get this smart coffee pot. It is beautiful, easy to operate and set up. Most importantly it makes a great tasting cup of coffee ☕️I did the usual vinegar water run through of a new coffee pot, then 2 brew cycles with plain water to get the plastic newness out of any first coffee brews. Doing this also helps me familiarize with how the system works. Then I set up wifi (easy) and set it to brew at 8 a.m. on gold setting. I ground the coffee, put water in and woke up to the aroma of coffee brewing. I love that if I wake up earlier than the brew time is set for, I can go into the ap and start coffee from wherever I am.I also have a smart Cafe range I love and microwave so that is what led me to the coffee pot in same series. The copper accents are as quality as what is on my range and microwave. I’ve seen some reviews saying it’s cheaply made but I don’t see that on mine at all. It’s a heavy sturdy well made copper handle yet light to lift. Accents are all same good quality as on my appliances. The stainless steel pot has a mouth wide enough to get in there and clean too. (The stainless steel I had before had such a small opening that it was very hard to clean.) So I noticed that right away. There are useful settings such as cleaning you can also set from app.The water canister is not removable and the ONLY feature I would change about it is that as others have said, this is such a convenient part of a coffee system missing on this one. I just use my old Ninja system one to fill it. The cups are not the same amount though, about a half cup off. There is also a removable filter in the water resivour but I haven’t found out where to buy for replacement yet. I think this is a great part to have for great tasting coffee and filters should be connected to buying the system. I use the filtered water from my refrigerator to fill my coffee resivore and this is extra filtering. Our water here in Washington State is pure but hard!Over all best looking and tasting coffee pot we’ve ever had. It was a little more than I usually soend on a coffee pot but worth it!I’ll update in a few months how it’s doing but I’m sure I will feel the same way!Edit 3 months later:I wanted to come back and say, after having this a few months, they should design the water holder with a vent that allows airflow because it stays fogged up and a humid environment like this is can lead to bacteria growth. They should just make it removable to clean but at least a vent!Filters for water were also hard to find but we did find them on Amazon. Otherwise still happy with it.6 month review: June 2023Have had a few problems with the wifi randomly disconnecting my coffee maker so I have to go in and do it all over. Also minor glitches when you cancel a pre set. The App doesn’t like you to cancel and you have to unplug and reset.I’ve gotten zero support from GE about the vent issue in water chamber. I simply leave the lid propped open to dry it out after coffee brews. Despite this effort, I’ve found mold in the filter area when changing water filter. I now remove that filter daily when drying out water chamber. This coffee pot is a lot of maintenance for such an expense! So far I’m still using it but would not buy again unless GE fixes the water chamber issue. Either removable water chamber or a VENT.

This makes an amazing cup of coffee but there is one flaw…..The cheap tape plastic handle coveron the pitcher arrived peeled off a bit. I had to call the company to get this replaced. Other than that the machine makes great coffee. I am worried about how long it will hold up.

Great coffee, easy to clean, convenient features that work

Landed on this machine after returning a Moccamaster because there were just to many pieces and parts to deal with every day. So satisfied with the exchange. This machine makes great coffee and has convenience features that set it apart. We wake up at different times throughout the week depending on schedules so it’s not always convenient to just set my coffee to run at a certain time in the morning. I set this machine up at night, and when we’re ready for coffee, I just reach over for my phone & turn the machine on via the app. When I hear the chime alerting me that the coffee is brewed I can make my first trip downstairs for coffee. It also has four different brew strengths to choose from and you absolutely can tell the difference. All were good coffee, but medium and gold are our favorites. Lastly, it is easy to clean – the shower head cover piece comes of easily to clean oil from coffee grinds that rise with steam during brewing, the filter basket comes out easily to trash the used filter and rinse, and the lid on the carafe comes off with a large enough opening to reach in and clean the carafe properly (maybe not for very large hands, but you can see clearly in to clean well. I love this machine and am happy with the purchase. It’s been worth the price to me

    Great cup of coffee

Unfortunately I had to return this because they sent the one with the glass carafe and not the stainless steel. However, I did repurchase so for a review on the machine itself, so far I love it. The Gold setting brews an amazingly hot and smooth cup of coffee. Now my Cast Brew coffee is even better! I am not having the mess issues some have had so far. My only issue is the scoop. It says 1:1 ratio scoop to cups of water and there is just no way. My 12 cup machine uses about the same size scoop and two and a half scoops is the regular amount. I used two scoops of coffee in this pot and it was excellent. 10 scoops would give you mud and probably why some people have big messes. So far I am very happy with the machine.

Great coffee, but it’s right handed

This makes the best drip coffee of any machine I’ve used. If you’re a lefty, though, putting the coffee in the filter basket is a bit awkward. Its not a deal breaker, because lefties are adaptable, but it is a minor annoyance.

Best coffee maker I have ever owned!

I was a little skeptical about this coffee maker because I wasn’t familiar with the brand. I’ve had several cuisinart coffee makers over the years. But recently the quality seems to have gotten worse and I have had several break, so I thought I’d give this one a try. I now own two! One for our master bedroom and one for the kitchen. Very attractive, high quality materials, easy to program, brews HOT! and keeps the coffee extremely hot in the carafe for hours. Super great buy!!

    Smart coffee maker

Did I need a Wi-Fi coffee pot, no. But I do like that I can Check the app and see it’s brewing. I have noticed that once you set your pot on the unit, don’t move it. Otherwise the auto start feature tells you the pot has been removed. It’s only taken me twice to figure that out…I’m enjoying my purchase.

    Not Matte Black

Cafe’s Matte Black coffee maker is NOT matte black, it is a space grey. If you care about aesthetics, this is not black. I’m returning it for the white one. Overall, it looks like an incredible machine, and I can’t wait to make coffee in it.

    Good but could be better.

Good: Makes excellent coffee. The visual design is perfect for our kitchen. Not so good:At this price point the water reservoir really should be removable. The filter chamber is a bit undersized: when making a full pot, the coffee expands/floats and gets all over the water diffuser baffle and slips out past the filter, making cleanup annoying since the upper part that holds the basket is not removable. The “smart” features are pretty worthless. It would be nice to control the brew time, but you can’t with this model. The amount of information that GE (the manufacturer) requires is very intrusive.

Ups and downs with this, let me explain.

When I first bought this I hated it and was about to return it. The coffee tasted watered down until I realized you absolutely need to use the spoon that comes with it. The spoon that’s included is actually 2 tablespoons per cup of water, more than I used to use. Also the brand of coffee matters too, I went through a lot of different coffees until I arrived at Thrive Market organic coffee and now I love it. My only complaint is that the flow rate of the water or drip rate should be a lot slower.

Great Coffee Maker, definitely worth the price

There are three great things about this unit, you definitely get what you pay for.1. It gives you amazing control over the type of coffee you like and it makes a tremendous cup of coffee.2. It’s VERY quiet, and it’s pretty fast too.3. I get up a different times each day of the week, and the auto brew timer is very easy to adjust.
